Seismic responses of an intensively constructed metro station-passageway-shaft structure system

Intensive construction methods offer benefits for metro station development,yet they present challenges for seismic design due to the spatially asymmetric configuration of passageway-shaft *** this study,a detailed numerical model of a station-passageway-shaft structure system built using intensive construction methods was developed and the deformation and damage modes under seismic loadings were *** results indicate that inconsistent deformation between the shaft and the station generates interaction through the connecting passageway,leading to damage near the opening of the station structure and both ends of the connecting passageway Damage is more severe under longitudinal *** with the opening plan that spans four segments,the opening plan that spans five segments exacerbates the overall degree of damage to the structure *** transverse excitation,the presence of interior structures intensifies the damage to the station and connecting passageway,while with such internal structure in place the impact is relatively minor under longitudinal *** with steel segments near the station opening can appreciably attenuate the *** contrast,introducing flexible joints at both ends of the connecting passageway intensifies the ***,reinforcement using steel segments emerges as an optimal seismic mitigation strategy.

In relation to the Shifu Road Station project on Line 4 of the Shenyang Metro in china,a small-pipe roof-beam method for constructing subway stations is ***,a numerical simulation was performed to optimize the supporting parameters of the proposed method and determine the design ***,the deformation of the pipe roof and surface settlement during the construction process were ***,the surface settlement attributed to the excavation was studied through field monitoring,and the proposed method was compared with other *** results show that an increase in the pipe-roof spacing has little effect on the surface settlement and piperoof *** bearing capacity of the pipe roof can be efficiently utilized once the flexural stiffness reaches 2EI,and the flexural stiffness is not the dominant factor controlling the *** essential stages in controlling surface settlement are the excavations of the transverse pilot tunnels and the soil between *** final settlement value of the ground was 24.1 mm,resulting in a reduction in the construction period by at least five months while satisfying the control requirements.

Green retrofitting of heritage buildings based on(3Ts)framework:An applied case study

Diverse heritage architecture characterizes Port Said in Egypt,reflecting European and Arab *** canal heritage villas comprise 25%of the total listed heritage buildings in the ***,it is important to retrofit them,aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).By reviewing the previous literature related to the green retrofitting of heritage buildings,the(3Ts)framework can be considered a holistic framework that covers the latest trends due to its three components:targets,tools,and tasks,which help the success of the process through a holistic vision of supporting building information modeling(BIM)technologies and organizing stakeholders’*** paper aims to apply the(3Ts)framework to Suez canal heritage villas in Port Said,*** applied study is based on how stakeholders perceive their input and decision-making,measuring the climate parameters,proposing several green retrofits,and integrating them into green *** of scenarios is conducted by utilizing the design Builder simulation ***,the Skelion plugin calculates the photovoltaic system’s(PVs)energy *** results indicated that the total energy savings could reach approximately 12%e74%and nearly 10%e73%cO₂emissions reduction without affecting heritage values.

Three-dimensional concrete printing(3DcP)technology begins to be adopted into construction application *** studies have focused on producing a higher concrete quality and offering a user-friendly construction ***,the 3DcP construction cost is unlikely to be lower than that of conventional construction,which is especially important for projects where the cost is *** broaden the 3DcP construction applications,reduction of the quantity of 3DcP material usage is *** work aims to perform structural analysis of several patterns of geometric textured 3DcP shell wall structures.21 different cantilevered textured patterns of 3DcP shell wall structures were architecturally designed and then subjected to structural analysis by a finite element method(FEM).The results indicated that by designing appropriate patterns,the structural performance to weight ratio could be improved up to 300%.The study therefore offers an innovative design process for constructing 3DcP housing and suggests preconstruction analysis methods for 3DcP shell wall structures.

Study on carbon emission calculation method and carbon reduction indexes of urban building stock

carbon emissions associated with buildings are a major source of urban emissions. To put forward the methods and strategies to curb carbon emissions from urban building stock, it is not only necessary to establish a carbon emission calculation method for fine statistical analysis, but also to evaluate carbon emissions of urban planning schemes with applicable indexes. currently,researches mainly focus on carbon emissions of individual buildings. When expanded to urban building stock, the calculation faces the lack of basic data, inadequate spatial analysis and unspecific carbon reduction indexes. Therefore, this study proposes a bottom-up calculation method for urban building stock, conducts spatial analysis based on carbon balance of urban grids, reveals the coupling mechanism between urban carbon reduction indexes and grid carbon emissions, and systematically establishes a carbon-reduction-oriented urban planning method that comprises calculation, analysis and evaluation, which is applied to Xi'an,china. This study provides a theoretical reference for cities to formulate carbon reduction targets and implement planning strategies by evaluating and predicting carbon emissions from urban building stock.

The construction of beautiful and livable villages is one of the important tasks of ruralrevitalization in the new era, and the development of rural areas attaches more and more importanceto the improvement of human settlement environment. By investigating the construction status andexisting problems of Zhaoba Village in Nanjing, it tries to take “beauty” and “livability” as the planningrequirements. The village positioning is planned accurately, and the functional layout is carried outreasonably. According to the characteristic industries, landscape features and infrastructure of ZhaobaVillage, humanized construction strategies are put forward, thus improving the quality of human settlementenvironment in Zhaoba Village.

Development of urban human settlement environments(HSEs)is an integral part of promoting high-quality and sustainable regional development and constructing a beautiful *** city of Lanzhou,located at the geometric center of china,is the only provincial capital traversed by the Yellow *** the constraints posed by the valley topography and the need for economic development,the development of this HSE,which is located within an arid region,poses considerable ***,an understanding of the evolution of HSEs and drivers of changes in them contributes to high-quality,sustainable urban development in arid and semi-arid *** analytical model was developed using the parameters of relief degree of land surface,human comfort days,the land cover index,nighttime light index,and *** model was used in combination with population density and the gross domestic product to analyze the spatial distribution of Lanzhou's HSE and its *** results showed that landscapes in Lanzhou underwent significant changes between 2000 and 2022,with an increase in building-up land(+0.946%),cultivated land(+0.134%),and forest land(+0.018%)and a decrease in grassland(-1.10%).There was significant outward expansion of the main urban zone of Lanzhou and of various county towns,with the increase in building-up land being most *** this period,there were significant changes in the periphery of the core urban area and county towns in Lanzhou,with decreases moving from the urban center(the highest value)to the surrounding areas(Yongdeng county had the lowest value).The correlation between the HSE and population density grew stronger in Anning and chengguan Districts but became weaker in Xigu and Qilihe *** variations in the HSE were primarily caused by climate change,followed by human activities,and were also influenced by the valley ***,the spatial distribution of population density and the HSE in Lanzhou d
