Immersed in the rich tapestry of traditional culture,Gugak,the traditional Korean music stands as a captivating embodiment of artistic *** study embarked on a comprehensive evaluation of a Gugak hall,employing acoustic measurements,computer simulations,and subjective perception *** evaluation focused on the reverberance,clarity,spatial impression,and preference,unravelling the secrets that shape the immersive Gugak *** intricate computer simulations and auralization,the experience of Gugak performances was meticulously brought to life,allowing exploration under diverse conditions by adjusting stage volume ratios from -20% to+20% and modifying the interior materials,including the walls,ceiling,and lateral *** Gugak halls exhibited relatively low values of reverberation time(RT),early decay time(EDT),and binaural quality index(BQI)the dominant factor influencing the acoustic environment was the effect of sound strength(G).Musical clarity(c80)value did not show an inverse proportionality to the reverberation ***,genre differences between traditional Korean and Western classical music did not significantly affect listeners’perception and satisfaction with regards to reverberance,clarity,and spatial *** a result,Gugak halls can adhere to the same acoustic design criteria as Western orchestra halls,since this study found that people perceived them the same *** this study,sound strength was found to be strongly correlated with perception *** was possible to enhance listeners’perception and preference regarding the acoustic environment through material and structural changes to the sidewalls and *** changes improved the reinforcement of low frequencies and simultaneously enhanced the relative effect of side ***,enhancing the reflection and spatial characteristics of the materials effectively improved listener *** on these findings,an optimal des

The present research studies the relationship between place attachment and the perception of form’s visual quality in fifteen outstanding contemporary Iranian architectural cultural *** study puts forward the hypothesis that there is a correlation between the quality of building form and the sense of place attachment,in the sense that creating high visual quality through enhancing the quality of building form increases citizens’initial satisfaction with and subsequent attachment to the *** visual quality influences people’s experience of the environment and improves the quality of *** attachment highlights how people,on a personal level,recreate a sense of place for *** present study adopts the descriptive-analytical method as its theoretical framework and the survey as the empirical *** were developed using the Likert scale and distributed among experts and ordinary *** analysis using SPSS and the adoption of descriptive-analytical statistics,correlation analysis,and regression showed the relationship among the characteristics of *** results show a positive correlation between form and place attachment mediated through visual quality,and they are causal conditions for one *** addition,only some of the buildings under study evoke the same level of place attachment.

Identification of chemical oxygen demand(cOD)in municipal solid waste(MSW)landfill leachates is a challenging *** paper investigated the feasibility of using sodium persulfate(PS),a strong oxidant,as a permeable reactive barrier(PRB)filling ***,sustained-release persulfate balls were manufactured to adjust the release rate of persulfate,the oxidation *** addition,Fe(II)-loaded activated carbon(Fe-Ac)was used to help with an even distribution of Fe(II)in the porous medium(PRB in this case).Then,the oxidation efficiency and kinetic rate of cOD removal by the sustained-release balls were subjected to batch tests.A mass ratio of 1:1.4:0.24:0.7 for PS:cement:sand:water was the most efficient for cOD removal(95%).The breakthrough curve for a 5 mm sustained-release ball revealed that the retardation factor was 1.27 and that the hydrodynamic dispersion coefficient was 15.6 cm^(2)/*** corresponding half-life of cOD oxidation was 0.43 d,which was comparable with the half-life of PS release from sustained-release balls(0.56 d).The sustained-release persulfate balls were shown to be an economical material with a simple recipe and production method when catalyzed by *** with cutting-edge methods,sustained-release balls used in PRBs offer significant advantages in terms of both effectiveness and economy for the preparation of sustained-release and catalytic *** results verified the feasibility of using sustained-release persulfate balls as a PRB material for cOD removal.

Estimating the frequency of traffic overloading on road bridges

Load limits,which appear to be routinely exceeded by trucks,occasionally result in road bridge ***,predicting failures is crucial for safeguarding road *** studies have largely focused on forecasting bridge failure event probability using the reliability analysis method,whilst occasionally accounting for vehicular overloading *** recently,a study has investigated design traffic overloading event frequency using generalised linear regression models(GLRMs),including a power component and negative binomial regressions(NBRs).However,as far as the authors know,artificial neural network models(ANNMs)have never been applied to this *** paper is an attempt to fill in these *** a frequencybased metric of traffic overloading was adopted as a driver of failure ***,two alternative‘frequency'models were specified,calibrated,and *** former was based on a GLRM,the latter on ***,these models were compared using regression plots(RPs),measures of errors(Mo Es)and the ratio between the number of observed vs predicted design load overcoming events to evaluate their *** models analysed more than 2 million weigh-in-motion(WIM)data records from a pilot station on a bridge on a heavily used ring road in Brescia(Italy).Results showed that ANNMs outperformed *** have a higher correlation coefficient(between predicted and target frequencies),lower Mo Es,and a closer-to-unity ratio(between predicted and target frequencies).These findings may increase prediction accuracy of design traffic overloading events and give road authorities more effective traffic management to protect bridges from load hazards.

Urban tourism is considered a complex system,and multiscale exploration of the organizational patterns of attraction networks has become a topical issue in urban tourism,so exploring the multiscale characteristics and connection mechanisms of attraction networks is important for understanding the linkages between attractions and even the future destination *** paper uses geotagging data to compare the links between attractions in Beijing,china during four different periods:the pre-Olympic period(2004–2007),the Olympic Games and subsequent‘heat period’(2008–2013),the post-Olympic period(2014–2019),and the cOVID-19(corona Virus Disease 2019)pandemic period(2020–2021).The aim is to better understand the evolution and patterns of attraction networks at different scales in Beijing and to provide insights for tourism planning in the *** results show that the macro,meso-,and microscales network characteristics of attraction networks have inherent logical relationships that can explain the commonalities and differences in the development process of tourism *** macroscale attraction network degree Matthew effect is significant in the four different periods and exhibits a morphological monocentric structure,suggesting that new entrants are more likely to be associated with attractions that already have high *** mesoscale links attractions according to the common purpose of tourists,and the results of the community segmentation of the attraction networks in the four different periods suggest that the functional polycentric structure describes their clustering effect,and the weak links between clusters result from attractions bound by incomplete information and distance,and the functional polycentric structure with a generally more efficient network of *** pattern structure at the microscale reveals the topological transformation relationship of the regional collaboration pattern,and the attraction network structure in the four diff
