What besides redox conditions? Impact of sea-level fluctuations on redox-sensitive trace-element enrichment patterns in marine sediments

Concentrations of redox-sensitive trace-element(RSTE) in marine shales have long been interpreted simply as redox proxies. However, the impact of other non-redox factors(e.g., sea-level fluctuation and seawater chemistry) on the enrichment of RSTE, especially molybdenum(Mo) and uranium(U), in sediments has been rarely reported. This study presents newly obtained RSTE datasets from the Upper Pennsylvanian organic-rich Cline Shale in the silled Midland Basin, U.S., to illustrate the influence of sea-level fluctuation on the authigenic accumulation of RSTE in marine sediments. A previously established transgressive-regressive sequence of the Cline Shale, a well-constrained high-amplitude glacio-eustatic fluctuation curve, and an accompanying episodic resupply of aqueous RSTE from the Panthalassic Ocean provide an ideal stratigraphic framework for determining the spatial and temporal variations of sediment RSTE enrichment patterns that responded to the episodic variations of seawater chemistry in this marginal silled paleomarine basin. Results suggest that although slightly higher median RSTE concentrations were observed in sediments from more reducing environments, the overall variation ranges of RSTE concentrations largely overlap among sediments deposited from a wide redox spectrum(from oxic to euxinic conditions) or different sea-level statuses in the Cline Shale. In contrast to the sediment RSTE enrichment patterns, the variations of sediment Mo/TOC and U/TOC ratios are coupled with glacio-eustatic fluctuation. The highest Mo/TOC and U/TOC ratios are commonly observed in sediments deposited during the highest relative sea-level(RSTE resupply), whereas the lowest Mo/TOC and U/TOC ratios usually appear in sediments deposited during the lowest relative sea-level(RSTE depletion). Our findings suggest that the benthic redox conditions recorded in sediment Mo and U concentrations can be greatly obscured and weakened by depleted aqueous Mo and U concentrations in highly restricted basins. 应用地震沉积学对中国西部深层古老海相碳酸盐岩进行分析,将岩心、测井和三维地震资料的综合解释纳入地震沉积学研究流程,定性恢复碳酸盐岩沉积古地貌,定量预测白云岩储集层厚度。四川盆地高石梯—磨溪地区寒武系龙王庙组形成于碳酸盐台地相沉积环境,岩相包括从白云石化颗粒岩到泥质岩几乎所有类型,主要发育颗粒滩、潟湖和深水陆棚亚相,其中高孔隙度(大于4%)储集层主要发育在滩相沉积中。采用地震地貌学研究思路,利用印模法和残厚法并经钻井资料标定,重建龙王庙组沉积古地貌。研究认为,帚状断裂体系控制了古地貌和沉积相展布。采用地震岩性学研究思路,引入多频道振幅主因子计算高孔隙度储集层厚度,定量确定相边界;优选反映岩体内部横向变化的相似性方差地震属性,刻画碳酸盐岩溶蚀成岩相。研究表明,将地震地貌学和地震岩性学相结合的研究思路行之有效,可为其他盆地中的碳酸盐岩地震沉积学研究提供参考。

页岩气藏多尺度孔隙介质发育、非均质性强,不同尺度介质流体运移机制复杂,明确多重介质流体跨尺度传质表征方法的适用范围对开展页岩气藏数值模拟研究具有重要意义.本文基于体积压裂改造页岩气藏储层多尺度介质分布特征及多尺度介质气体运移特性,以储层不同区域微小单元体为研究对象,分别建立离散介质、拟稳态窜流双重介质、瞬态窜流双重介质表征单元体模型,对比分析不同储层条件和裂缝参数时离散介质模型与不同窜流模式双重介质表征单元体模型内流体产量变化规律,得到页岩气藏多重介质流体跨尺度传质表征方法适用范围.研究结果表明:生产早期不同窜流模式对窜流量影响较大,多重介质渗透率相差越大,生产早期不同窜流模式得到的窜流量相差越大,窜流量差异持续时间越长;采用瞬态窜流或拟稳态窜流双重介质模型可以较为准确地描述干酪根有机质-无机基岩之间流体跨尺度传质规律;无机基岩-次生缝网流体跨尺度运移规律需要采用离散介质模型进行描述.离散缝网耦合干酪根-无机基岩双重介质模型可以比较精确描述体积改造页岩气藏流体运移规律,该模型对开展页岩气藏数值模拟器研究具有重要的理论意义.

High-Frequency Sequence Stratigraphy and Fine-Scale Reservoir Characterization of the Devonian Sandstone, Donghe Formation, North Uplift of the Tarim Basin

The Devonian Donghe Sandstone complex in North Uplift of the Tarim Basin comprises of a series of diachronous sandy intervals deposited from the Late Devonian to Early Mississippian. They are constrained by a Late Devonian to Early Pennsylvanian 2 nd-order supersequence and can be subdivided into five 3 rd-order sequences, namely, S1, S2, S3, S4, and S5, from the oldest to youngest. Cores from four wells, 40 wireline logs, 410 thin sections, and porosity and permeability data from 639 spots from four wells were used to study the sediment provenance, build up the sequence-stratigraphic model of S5, and characterize the reservoirs at a feet scale. Detrital modes of sandstone from point counting indicate that Donghe Sandstone is directly sourced from recycled orogeny. The low content of feldspar and volcanic rock fragments suggests that Donghe Sandstone is recycled from sediment with a cratonic ultimate source. 1 D and 2 D chronostratigraphic correlation shows that at least 12 4 th-order highfrequency sequences（HFSs）, from the oldest HFS1 to the youngest HFS12, can be recognized in S5. Each HFS is characterized by a general trend of shallowing-upward facies assemblage. Sequence boundaries were defined at where regionally correlatable deep-water facies overlaying shallow-water facies. There is a general shallowing-upward trend in the S5 3 rd-order sequence, characterized by a systematically increasing proportion of shallow-water facies（foreshore and upper shoreface）, and a decreasing proportion of deep facies（offshore transition and lower shoreface）. The shallowing-upward trend within both 3 rd-and 4 th-order sequences is resulted from a combined effect of eustatic sea-level change, tectonic activity, and sediment supply. The sequence-stratigraphic model of Donghe Sandstone S5 is similar to the rift-basin sequence-stratigraphic model. Shallow-water deltas are now a research focus of international sedimentology. Researchers have recently discovered that water depth is an important controlling factor for the development of shallow deltas, and that significant differences exist between shallow-water deltas and the traditional Gilbert deltas. The identification marks of shallow-water deltas are critical for better understanding sedimentary characteristics of these deltas. In continental basins, especially China＇s Mesozoic and Cenozoic continental basins, shallow-water deltas are widely developed. Thus, this work took the Songliao Basin as an example to analysis this kind of deltas.

Stratal Slice Recognition of Thin Shallow-Water Delta Sandbodies in the Songliao Basin

Objective China＇s petroleum exploration has entered a new stage of finding deeply buried thin sandbodies lbr the abundant oil resources they contain. Here thin sandbodies refer to those less than 10 m in thickness, or even less than 1-2 m. It is difficult to depict thin-layer sandbodies of different genetic types using conventional core, well logging and seismic data due to their limited vertical resolution in petroliferous basins. However, seismic sedimentology provides a new research method especially tbr thin sandbody interpretation, i.e., validating interpreted sedimentary sandbodies from 3D seismic data based on horizontal resolution, stratal slice and seismic geomorphology interpretation. At present, a series of studies on seismic sedimentology in North America marine basins and elsewhere have been completed successfully and are relevant to the exploration and development of oil and gas fields.

SS precursors play a fundamental role in investigating the earth’s mantle transition zone (MTZ). More often, high-quality of SS precursors signals are required to obtain an accurate image of the transition zone. However, the SS precursor signals are generally weak with low amplitude because of the relatively small impedance contrast of the mantle discontinuities, the presence of strong noise, and incomplete seismic observations.

研究交错网格Lowrank有限差分方法,分析该方法的精度和频散关系,并将其用于逆时偏移成像。交错网格Lowrank有限差分法通过在交错网格上匹配波场延拓算子的谱响应得到优化的差分系数。将交错网格Lowrank有限差分法用于构建地震波场,处理PML边界条件,给出用其实现逆时偏移的步骤,通过复杂模型试算验证方法的有效性。平面波理论频散分析表明,该方法能在较宽的波数范围内精确拟合频散关系,具有精度高、稳定性条件相对较宽等优点。数值结果表明,交错网格Lowrank有限差分逆时偏移能够对复杂构造进行准确成像,在保证成像精度的前提下节省计算量,具有较好的应用价值。
