AN ANALYSIS OF PITCH IN CHINESE SPONTANEOUS SPEECH

翻译批译:《列王纪》戴维斯英译本研究（英文）

In this study, based on spontaneous speech corpus, the F0 values and the F0 ranges of 79 speakers are analyzed. It is found that although there is great difference between the F0 values of men and women, when F0 value is converted to semitone, there is no difference between the ranges of the two genders. Intonation phrases can be classified according to their pitch range and pitch register, which is related to their length, their informative and interrogative degree, and their position in discourse.

本研究采用伯曼(2009)提出的翻译批评方法论考察伊朗史诗《列王纪》戴维斯英译本。研究通过分析诗文融合、波斯诗歌构成形式、伦理困境、角色内在性质,发掘译者'翻译立场'(译者对翻译任务的理解)、'翻译项目'(译者在特定翻译项目中表现出的规律和风格)、'翻译视域'(反映译者思维、感受和行为的语言、文化及历史要素),揭示翻译与原文间的联系。继发展伯曼(2009:30)指出的译者与其译作的'神圣化',本研究为波斯文学作品译本的进一步研究带来启示。

Neuroscience is a relatively new research field that,so far,has resulted in important progress in understanding the physiology,biochemistry,pharmacology,and structure of the vertebrate brain.^([1])Because of this progress,spectacular technological developments,^([2])*** emission tomography,functional magnetic resonance imaging,transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS),diffusion tensor imaging,magneto-encephalography,electro-encephalography,etc.,and new treatments based on them,such as high-frequency repetitive TMS(rTMS),^([3])deep brain stimulation.

Experimental evidence showed that declination exists in most sentences in Chinese Putonghua. However, the specific pitch variation of prosodic words （PWs） within sentences has not been fully understood. The dialogue material used in this study was taken from the 973 telephone conversation corpus, which includes 69 dialogues, with 79 speakers involved. The read speech material was recordings of news announcement by two announcers from radio, totally 221 sentences. Top and bottom points of pitch contour and the range of prosodic words with the sentences were studied. It was found that, for both dialogue and read speech, pitch declination exists for most sentences, with minor exceptions in the first part of longer sentences for dialogue. Compared to read speech, the pitch range of prosodic words for dialogue is smaller. For dialogue, the pitch range of the last prosodic words of the sentences are relatively larger, while there is no significant difference for pitch ranges of prosodic words in most sentences of read speech. This study will be helpful for the modeling of the pitch range and register of prosodic words in sentences in speech synthesis.

Nowadays,several noninvasive neuroimaging techniques,including transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS),*** working mechanism behind TMS is a rapidly changing magnetic field that generates an electric current via electromagnetic *** the coil is placed on the scalp,the magnetic field generates a physiological reaction in the underlying neural *** TMS-induced change in the participant’s behavior is used by researchers to investigate the causal relations between specific brain areas and cognitive functions such as language.A variant of TMS has been developed,which is called rapid-rate TMS(rTMS).In this review,three databases(Medline,Educational Resources Information Center,and Scopus)were searched for rTMS studies on normal reading and dyslexia with a cut-off date of October 31,*** was found to be a valuable tool for investigating questions related to reading research,both on the word and the sentence ***,it can be successfully used in research on ***,(high-frequency)rTMS has been used as a“clinical”intervention technique for treating dyslexia and for improving reading performance by exciting underactive reading pathways in the ***,we end the paper with a discussion of future directions in the field of rTMS research and dyslexia,for instance,the promising prospect of combining TMS with simultaneous electroencephalographic imaging.

Entity Linking(EL)aims to automatically link the mentions in unstructured documents to corresponding entities in a knowledge base(KB),which has recently been dominated by global *** many global EL methods attempt to model the topical coherence among all linked entities,most of them failed in exploiting the correlations among manifold knowledge helpful for linking,such as the semantics of mentions and their candidates,the neighborhood information of candidate entities in KB and the fine-grained type information of *** we will show in the paper,interactions among these types of information are very useful for better characterizing the topic features of entities and more accurately estimating the topical coherence among all the referred entities within the same *** this paper,we present a novel HEterogeneous Graph-based Entity Linker(HEGEL)for global entity linking,which builds an informative heterogeneous graph for every document to collect various linking *** HEGEL utilizes a novel heterogeneous graph neural network(HGNN)to integrate the different types of manifold information and model the interactions among *** on the standard benchmark datasets demonstrate that HEGEL can well capture the global coherence and outperforms the prior state-of-the-art EL methods.
