Successful application of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides in optoelectronic,catalytic,or sensing devices heavily relies on the materials’quality,that is,the thickness uniformity,presence of grain boundaries,and the types and concentrations of point *** spectroscopy is a powerful and nondestructive tool to probe these factors but the interpretation of the spectra,especially the separation of different contributions,is not *** to simulated spectra is beneficial,but for defective systems first-principles simulations are often computationally too expensive due to the large sizes of the systems ***,we present a combined first-principles and empirical potential method for simulating Raman spectra of defective materials and apply it to monolayer MoS_(2) with random distributions of Mo and S *** study to what extent the types of vacancies can be distinguished and provide insight into the origin of different evolutions of Raman spectra upon increasing defect *** apply to our simulated spectra the phonon confinement model used in previous experiments to assess defect concentrations,and show that the simplest form of the model is insufficient to fully capture peak shapes,but a good match is obtained when the type of phonon confinement and the full phonon dispersion relation are accounted for.

Objective:To establish the modulatory effects of coenzyme Q_(10)on experimental trypanosome infections in mice and evaluate the risk of occurrence and severity of melarsoprol-induced post treatment reactive encephalopathy(PTRE).Methods:Female Swiss white mice were orally administered with 200 mg/kg of coenzyme Q_(10)after which they were intraperitoneally inoculated with Trypanasoma brucei rhodesiense(***).The resultant infection was allowed to develop and simulate all phases of human African trypanosomiasis and *** development,packed cell volume,haematological and pathological changes were ***:A histological study in the brain tissue of *** infected mice demonstrated neuroinflammatory pathology which was highly amplified in the PTRE-induced groups.A prominent reduction in the severity of the neuroinflammatory response was detected when coenzyme-Q_(10)was ***,the mean tissue weight of spleen to body ratio in coenzyme Q_(10)supplemented group was significantly(P<0.05)different compared to un-supplemented groups,and clearly indicated that coenzyme Q_(10)prevented full blown splenomegaly pathogenesis by ***.A significant(P<0.05)increase in hemoglobin levels and red blood cells was observed in coenzyme Q_(10)mice compared to those infected and un-supplemented with coenzyme Q_(10).Conclusions:The capacity of coenzyme Q_(10)to alter the pathogenesis of *** infection in mice and following treatment with melarsoprol,may find application by rendering humans and animals less susceptible to deleterious effects of trypanosome infection such as splenomegaly and melarsoprol-induced PTRE and neurotoxicity.

The aim of this study was to estimate a basal area growth model for individual trees in uneven-aged Caspian forests.A survey was conducted in order to find a natural forest without any harvesting activities,a so called ＇untouched forest＇ and an area was selected from the Iranian Caspian *** sample plots in the same aspect and of the same forest type were *** each plot,total tree height,diameter at breast height,distance of neighbor trees and azimuth were *** trees were selected and drilled with increment borer to determine the increment *** analysis was used to estimate the growth *** show that,for individual trees,there is a significant nonlinear relationship between the annual basal area increment,as the dependent variable,and the basal *** results also show that the basal area of competing trees has a positive influence on *** the increment is higher with more competing neighboring trees is possibly because plots with higher volume per hectare and more competition,most likely also have higher site index or better soil or better site productivity than the plot with lower volume per hectare.

The modeling of PV （photovoltaic） systems is very crucial for embedded power system applications and maximum power point tracking. This paper presents a PV array model using Matlab/Simulink with the assistance of SimPowerSystem toolbox. The PV cell is considered as the main building block for simulating and monitoring the PV array performance. The PV model has been developed and used as Simulink subsystems where the effect of solar insolation and PV array temperature on commercial PV modules have been studied throughout the simulated I-V and P-V output characteristics. The proposed model facilitates simulating the dynamic performance of PV-based power systems. The effect of different partial shading patterns of PV arrays under different configurations has been studied.

In this paper, we introduce leptogenesis via a varying Weinberg operator from a semi-classical *** mechanism is motivated by the breaking of an underlying symmetry which triggers a phase transition that causes the coupling of the Weinberg operator to become dynamical. Consequently, a lepton anti-lepton asymmetry arises from the interference of the Weinberg operator at two different spacetime points. Using the semi-classical approach,we treat the Higgs as a background field and show that a reflection asymmetry between leptons and anti-leptons is generated in the vicinity of the bubble wall. We solve the equations of motion of the lepton and anti-lepton quasiparticles to obtain the final lepton asymmetry.

Influence of CRT Glass Quantity on the Properties of Red Mud-CRT Glass Ceramics Fired at Different Temperatures

This paper reports the production of ceramics using CRT(cathode ray tube)glass and red mud by varying the amount of waste glass and firing from 700-950℃.The raw materials were characterized using chemical composition,IR(infra-red spectroscopy),XRD(X-ray diffraction),DSC-TGA(differential scanning calorimetry-thermo gravimetric analyses)and SEM(scanning electron microscopy)*** ceramic specimen was produced by mixing a constant quantity of red mud and 0%-40%of waste glass,then firing from 700-950℃.The linear shrinkage,water absorption,apparent porosity,bulk density,weight loss on ignition,flexural strength and chemical resistance test were used to evaluate the produced *** materials had good fluxing properties which were improved with *** the specimens produced had water absorption values below the maximum value of 20% specified by the norm for roofing tiles while specimens with 30%-40% CRT glass and fired at 850°C,and specimens with 20%-40% CRT glass and fired at 950℃ had water absorption values below 10%,which is the norm for ceramic *** specimens 0%-40% CRT glass fired at 950℃,specimens 5%-40% CRT glass fired at 850℃,specimens 10%-40% CRT glass fired at 750℃ and specimen with 20%CRT glass fired at 700℃,water absorption values were all lower than 17% which is ASTM C62 specifications for *** norm of flexural strength for floor tiles>25 MPa but all values were less than 25 *** ceramic shows a maximum loss of 0.10%in HNO3 against 0.06%for *** two waste materials can effectively be used to produce ceramic materials with good properties.

Monitoring and control of combustion flames in utility boilers are required in order to optimize combustion *** paper presents an instrumentation system for the concurrent measurement of the temperature distributionand soot concentration of flames developed on the two-color principle. This system consists of an endoscope,an optical assembly with optical filters, a CCD camera, a frame grabber and associated image processingsoftware. Experiments are performed on a methane-air combustor and the temperature fields and the soot concentrationscorresponding to the flame images are obtained. The results have demonstrated that the system is capableof performing on-line measurement of flame and temperature distribution, providing temporal and spatial characterizationof the combustion process. In addition, the combination of advanced optical sensing and digital imageprocessing technique can help to define the threshold by the analysis of the background noise. Furthermore, theutilization of the filter technique can enhance the image presentation effect to an extent.

This research aims to understand the fractional order dynamics of the deadly Nipah virus(NiV)*** focus on using piecewise derivatives in the context of classical and singular kernels of power operators in the Caputo sense to investigate the crossover behavior of the considered dynamical *** establish some qualitative results about the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the proposed *** utilizing the Newtonian polynomials interpolation technique,we recall a powerful algorithm to interpret the numerical findings for the aforesaid ***,we remark that the said viral infection is caused by an RNA type virus which can transmit from animals and also from an infected person to *** bats which are also known as flying foxes are one of the sources of transmission of NiV *** in this work,we investigate its transmission mechanism through some new concepts of fractional calculus for further analysis and *** present the approximate results for different compartments using different fractional *** using the piecewise derivative concept,we detect the crossover ormulti-steps behavior in the transmission dynamics of the mentioned ***,the considered form of the derivative is used to deal with problems exhibiting crossover behaviors.
