Simulation of the L-valve in the circulating fluidized bed with a coarse-grained discrete particle method

Stable and controllable solid flow is essential in circulating fluidized bed (CFB) systems. The L-valve is a typical non-mechanical valve that can provide flexible solid feeding. The investigation of the solid circulation rate and the hydrodynamic characteristics of the L-valve is crucial to its design and operation. The gas-solid flow in the L-valve of a full-loop CFB is studied with the coarse-grained discrete particle method (EMMS-DPM). Good agreements on the solid circulation rate and the pressure drop through the L-valve are achieved between the simulated and experimental data. The solid circulation rate increases linearly with the aeration velocity until the stable particle circulation of the CFB is destroyed. The flow patterns in the horizontal section of L-valve are gas-solid slug flow above the stationary solid layer and the moving solid layer, respectively. The effects of L-valve geometric parameters on the solid flow characteristics are also investigated. The results indicate that reducing the diameter and length of the horizontal section of L-valve can improve the solid transport efficiency, especially at low aeration velocity. Besides, the solid conveying capacity and flow stability are improved when the sharp bend of L-valve is modified to be a gradual bend.

A cross section evaluation of neutron induced reactions on^(48)Ti is undertaken using the Unified Monte Carlo-B(UMC-B)*** evaluation concentrates on estimating the covariance and the use of the UMC-B allows avoiding the deficiencies of linear regression brought by the traditional least squares *** main neutron and charged particle emission reactions from n+^(48)Ti in the fast neutron energy region below 20 MeV are studied in this *** posterior probability density function(PDF)of each neutron cross section is obtained in a UMC-B Bayesian approach by convoluting the model PDFs sampled based on model parameters and the likelihood functions for the experimental *** model parameters including level density,pair corrections,optical model and Kalbach matrix element parameter are stochastically sampled with the assumption of normal distributions to estimate the model *** Cholesky factorization approach is applied to consider potential parameter ***,the posterior covariance matrices are generated using the UMC-B generated *** new evaluated results are compared with the CENDL-3.2,ENDF/B-VIII.0,JEFF-3.3,TENDL-2021 and JENDL-5 evaluations and differences are discussed.

Purpose The paper shows the interpretive impact of different constructions of the point of view available to the reader/viewer in book and animated movie versions of a children's picture book,a novel for pre-adolescents/early teenagers,and a graphic novel for adolescents and ***/Approach/Methods Excerpts from book and animated movie versions of the same story are compared using multimodal analysis of interpersonal meaning to show how the reader/viewer is positioned in relation to the characters in each version,complemented by analyses of ideational meaning to show the effect of point of view on interpretive *** Focusing mainly on multimodal construction of point of view,the analyses show how interpretive possibilities of ostensibly the same story are significantly reconfigured in animated adaptations compared with book versions even when the verbal narrative remains substantially ***/Value The study shows that it is crucial to students’critical appreciation of,and their creative contribution to,their evolving digital literary culture that in this new era of educational technology,attention in literacy and literary education focuses on developing understandings of digital multimodal narrative art,and that animated movie adaptations are not presented pedagogically as isomorphic with,or simply adjunct to,corresponding book versions.

This study examines how perceived value of microfinance and exploratory innovation affect small and medium-sized enterprises(SME)performance in the context of a developing *** on the strategic innovation and microfinance literature,we hypothesize that(1)perceived value of microfinance affects exploratory innovation and SME performance,and(2)exploratory innovation serves as an effective mechanism through which microfinance enhances SME *** employ partial least squares structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)to test our *** a sample of 581 Ghanaian SMEs with microfinance,the results of the PLS SEM support our *** further conducted a qualitative analysis of comments provided by the SMEs(n=144)to gain a deeper understanding of exploratory innovation in developing *** findings show that SMEs purposefully attempt to strengthen their exploratory inno-vation in *** discuss the theoretical and practical implications of these findings as well as future research avenues.
