BACKGROUND The concept of positive health(PH)supports an integrated approach for patients by taking into account six dimensions of *** approach is especially relevant for patients with chronic *** gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatico-biliary(GI-HPB)disorders are among the top-6 of the most prevalent chronically affected organ *** impact of chronic GI-HPB disorders on individuals may be disproportionally high because:(1)The affected organ system frequently contributes to a malnourished state;and(2)persons with chronic GIHPB disorders are often younger than persons with chronic diseases in other organ *** To describe and quantify the dimensions of PH in patients with chronic GI-HPB *** Prospective,observational questionnaire study performed between 2019 and 2021 in 235 patients with a chronic GIHPB disorder attending the Outpatient Department of the Maastricht University medical *** questionnaires and data from patient files were used to quantify the six dimensions of *** consistency was tested with McDonald’s ***-order Pearson correlations and t-tests were used to assess associations and differences.A P value<0.05 was considered *** The GI-HPB patients scored significantly worse in all dimensions of PH compared to control data or norm scores from the general *** quality of life,participation and daily functioning,GI-HPB patients scored in the same range as patients with chronic disorders in other organ systems,but depressive symptoms(in 35%)and malnutrition(in 45%)were more frequent in patients with chronic GI-HPB *** scores between the six dimensions were only very weak to weak,forcing us to quantify each domain *** All six dimensions of PH are impaired in the GI-HPB *** and depressive symptoms are more prevalent compared to patients with chronic disorders in other organ systems.

Whether the complex game system composed of a large number of artificial intelligence(AI)agents empowered with reinforcement learning can produce extremely favorable collective behaviors just through the way of agent self-exploration is a matter of practical *** this paper,we address this question by combining the typical theoretical model of resource allocation system,the minority game model,with reinforcement *** individual participating in the game is set to have a certain degree of intelligence based on reinforcement learning *** particular,we demonstrate that as AI agents gradually becomes familiar with the unknown environment and tries to provide optimal actions to maximize payoff,the whole system continues to approach the optimal state under certain parameter combinations,herding is effectively suppressed by an oscillating collective behavior which is a self-organizing pattern without any external *** interesting phenomenon is that a first-order phase transition is revealed based on some numerical results in our multi-agents system with reinforcement *** order to further understand the dynamic behavior of agent learning,we define and analyze the conversion path of belief mode,and find that the self-organizing condensation of belief modes appeared for the given trial and error rates in the AI ***,we provide a detection method for period-two oscillation collective pattern emergence based on the Kullback–Leibler divergence and give the parameter position where the period-two appears.

Impact of hepatitis B immunoglobulin mode of administration on treatment experiences of patients after liver transplantation: Results from an online survey

BACKGROUND Hepatitis B immunoglobulin(HBIG)in combination with a potent nucleos(t)ide analog is considered the standard of care for prophylaxis against hepatitis B virus(HBV)reinfection after liver transplantation for HBV-associated *** To evaluate patients’satisfaction,preferences,and requirements for subcutaneous(SC),intramuscular(IM),and intravenous(IV)HBIG *** A self-completion,cross-sectional,online,22-question survey was conducted to examine perceptions and satisfaction with current HBIG treatment in adults receiving HBIG treatment following liver transplantation for HBV-associated disease in France,Italy,and *** HBIG products with different administration modes were evaluated using target product profile assessment and a conjoint(trade-off)*** Ninety patients were enrolled;32%,17%,and 51%were SC,IM,and IV HBIG users,*** duration of treatment was 36.2 *** HBIG had the least negative impact on emotional well-being and social life and was perceived as the most convenient,easiest to administer,least painful,and had the highest self-rating of treatment *** IM HBIG users than SC or IV HBIG users reported that administration frequency was excessive(67%,28%,and 28%,respectively).In the target product profile assessment,76%of patients were likely to use hypothetical SC *** the conjoint exercise,administration route,frequency,and duration were key drivers of treatment *** Ease,frequency,duration,and side effects of HBIG treatment administration were key drivers of treatment preferences,and SC HBIG appeared advantageous over IM and IV HBIG for administration ease,convenience,and pain.A hypothetical SC HBIG product elicited a favorable *** demographics,personal preferences,and satisfaction with HBIG treatment modalities may influence long-term treatment compliance.

Identification of P-type plasma membrane H^(+)-ATPases in common wheat and characterization of TaHA7 associated with seed dormancy and germination

Mechanochemical route to fabricate an efficient nitrate reduction electrocatalyst

The electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction(NO_(3)RR)to ammonia under ambient conditions is a promising approach for addressing elevated nitrate levels in water bodies,but the progress of this reaction is impeded by the complex series of chemical reactions involving electron and proton transfer and competing hydrogen evolution ***,it becomes imperative to develop an electro-catalyst that exhibits exceptional efficiency and remarkable selectivity for ammonia synthesis while maintaining long-term *** the magnetic biochar(Fe-C)has been synthesized by a two-step mechanochemical route after a pyrolysis treatment(450,700,and 1000℃),which not only significantly decreases the particle size,but also exposes more oxygen-rich functional groups on the surface,promoting the adsorption of nitrate and water and accelerating electron transfer to convert it into *** showed that the catalyst(Fe-C-700)has an impressive NH_(3)production rate of 3.5 mol·h^(−1)·gcat^(−1),high Faradaic efficiency of 88%,and current density of 0.37 A·cm^(−2)at 0.8 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).In-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)is used to investigate the reaction intermediate and to monitor the *** oxygen functionalities on the catalyst surface activate nitrate ions to form various intermediates(NO_(2),NO,NH_(2)OH,and NH_(2))and reduce the rate determining step energy barrier(*NO_(3)→*NO_(2)).This study presents a novel approach for the use of magnetic biochar as an electro-catalyst in NO_(3)RR and opens the road for solving environmental and energy challenges.

Investigation of conformational changes of cathepsin B as a feasibility assessment for NaCl reduction in Jinhua ham

To regulate the sodium chloride content in Jinhua ham， the impact of NaCl on the activity and conformation of cathepsin B was investigated using spectroscopy and computational methods. The results showed that the activity of cathepsin B decreased with an increase in Na+cation content and temperature. Additionally， decreased α-helix content and increased β-sheet content were observed. The increase in sulfhydryl group content was attributed to the breaking of original disulfide bonds in the molecular structure or the release of embedded groups. Furthermore， the surface hydrophobicity gradually declined， which was consistent with the analysis of endogenous fluorescence spectroscopy. At the molecular level， the number of hydrogen bonds formed in NaCl-treated samples decreased， and the interactions between the hydrogen bonding were less powerful， which caused instability in the binding of the protein and substrate. The conformation of cathepsin B accurately characterized its activity， and the structural changes had a macroscopic effect on the decrease in protease activity.

Protective effect of Fu Brick tea on high-fat diet-induced metabolic syndrome: Relevant to protecting the intestinal barrier and regulating the gut microbiota

This study investigated the therapeutic effects on metabolic syndrome (MetS) and the impact on the intestinal barrier and gut microbiota of Fu brick tea aqueous extracts (FTE) on metabolic syndrome (MetS) in rats fed with a high-fat diet (HFD). Here， the results showed that FTE supplement significantly reduced HFD-induced weight gain， adiposity， dyslipidemia， fasting blood glucose (PBG) increment， and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Moreover， FTE supplement resulted in a decline in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) level and attenuation of colonic inflammation and oxidative stress to protect the intestinal barrier function. FTE supplement also maintained the intestinal barrier integrity by improving histological appearance and promoting ZO-1， Occludin， and Claudin-1 protein expression levels. Meanwhile， FTE supplement alleviated the gut microbiota dysbiosis by enhancing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) ratio and stimulating the colonization of probiotic bacteria such as Akkermansia， Lactobacillus， Adlercreutzia， and Bacteroides. These findings collectively suggest that Fu brick tea could alleviate MetS and Mets-associated traits with the mechanism relevant to the protection of intestinal barrier and gut microbiota regulation.
