Given the key role of methionine in biological processes,adequate methionine should be provided to meet the nutritional ***-2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio)-butanoic acid(DL-HMTBA)has been considered as an important source of ***,the effects of different sources and levels of methionine on the intestinal health status have not been clarified *** experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of different dietary sources and levels of methionine on the intestinal epithelial barrier,inflammatory cytokines expression,ileal morphology,microbiota composition,and cecal short chain fatty acids(sCFA)*** this purpose,720 male Arbor Acre broiler chicks at 1 d old were randomly assigned to a 2×3 factorial arrangement with 2 methionine sources(DL-methionine and DLHMTBA)and 3 total sulfur amino acids(TsAA)levels(80%,100%,and 120%of Arbor Acre recommendation).The results showed that DL-HMTBA supplementation promoted intestinal physical barrier at both gene expression level of claudin-1 and serum diamine oxidase level(Pssion was down-regulated by dietary DL-HMTBA supplementation compared with the DL-methionine group(Pssion of claudin-1 and zonula occluden-1(ZO-1)were observed in the low-TsAA treatment on d 14(Ps this treatment increased the expression of IL-1βand IL-6(Ps height to crypt depth ratio was high(PsAA ***,DL-HMTBA supplementation optimized the microbiota of the ileum especially the relative abundance of Lactobacillus,where the digestion and absorption were completed,and elevated the concentrations of sCFA(acetate,propionate,and butyrate)in the cecal content on d 21(Psion,dietary DL-HMTBA supplementation improved the intestinal barrier function,immune homeostasis and optimized the microbiota to promote intestinal health status in broiler chickens.

Landing gears of commercial aircraft make an important contribution to total aircraft noise in the approach configuration. Using fairings to shield components from high speed impingement reduces noise. Furthermore, perforating these fairings has been confirmed by flight tests to further enable noise reduction. Following an earlier fundamental study of the application of perforated fairings, a study has been performed to investigate and optimize the benefits of bleeding air through landing gear fairings. By means of wind tunnel tests, an aerodynamic and acoustic survey has been performed on a simplified generic main landing gear to explore the influence of （perforated） fairings on the lower part of the gear. The results show that for this specific case, the application of impermeable fairings reduces noise in the mid- and high frequency range by shielding sharp edged components from high velocity impingement. However, below 1 kHz the noise is shown to increase significantly. Application of the perforations is shown to diminish this low frequency increase whilst maintaining the reduction in the mid- and high frequency range. The aerodynamic and acoustic measurements point in the direction of the separated flow of the fairings interacting with the downstream gear components responsible for the low frequency noise increase. Bleeding of the air through the fairings reduces the large scale turbulence in the proximity of these components and hence diminishes the low frequency noise increase.

Today, the act of purchase is more and more irrational. Customers’ choices are based on emotional and multisensorial features, particularly on touch, which is the most emotional sense. Then it is essential in the design process to work on shapes, materials, textures to make users living pleasant experiences in all contact areas of the product. It’s.a.so essential to consider the dynamic aspect of touch to follow the body and generate pleasant tactile effects. Finally, how can we introduce touch in the design process considering companies’ know-how, culture and subjectivity of each actor of new product creation?

The efficacy of afoxolaner (NexGard? and NexGard spectra?, boehringer-ingelheim), administered once orally at the minimum recommended dose, was.a.sessed in dogs experimentally infested with Ixodes hexagonus ticks. The study was a blinded, negative controlled clinical efficacy study using a randomized block design. Twenty-four Beagle dogs, 12 females and 12 males were enrolled. Dogs were randomly allocated either to the negative control group, or to one of the two treated groups. Infestations were performed with 50 adult I. hexagonus ticks on Days-2, 7 and 28. On Day 0, dogs in groups 2 and 3 were treated with NexGard? (afoxolaner) or NexGard spectra? (afoxolaner + milbemycin oxime), respectively. Tick counts were conducted 48 hours after treatment (Day 2) and 48 hours after each subsequent infestation (Days 9 and 30). In both treated groups, afoxolaner was 100% effective against existing infestations (p ? and NexGard spectra? respectively. NexGard? and NexGard spectra? chewable tablets administered once orally at the minimum recommended dose were highly effective against I. hexagonus infestations for the 4 weeks duration of the study.

Net energy(NE)enables the prediction of more accurate feed energy values by taking into account the heat increment which is approximately 25%of apparent metabolizable energy(AME)in ***,application of NE in poultry industry has not been practiced *** predict the NE values of broiler diets,23 diets were prepared by using 13 major ingredients(wheat,corn,paddy rice,broken rice,cassava pellets,full-fat soybean,soybean meal,canola meal,animal protein,rice bran,wheat bran,palm kernel meal and palm kernel oil).The diets were formulated in order to meet the birds'requirements and get a wide range of chemical compositions(on DM basis;33.6%to 55.3%for starch;20.8%to 28.4%for CP,2.7%to 10.6%for ether extract[EE]and 7.0%to 17.2%for NDF),with low correlations between these nutrients and low correlations between the inclusion levels of ingredients allowing for the calculation of robust prediction equations of energy values of diets or *** diets were fed to Ross 308 broilers raised in 12 open-circuit respiratory chambers from 18 to 23 d of age(4 birds per cage)and growth performance,diet AME content and heat production were measured,and dietary NE values were *** trial was conducted on a weekly basis with 12 diets measured each week(1per chamber),1 of the 23 diets(reference diet)being measured each *** diet was tested at least *** total,235 energy balance data values were available for the final *** performance,AME(15.3 MJ/kg DM on average)and AME/GE(79.4%on average)values were as *** NE/AME value averaged 76.6%and was negatively influenced by CP and NDF and positively by EE in connection with efficiencies of AME provided by CP,EE and starch for NE of 73%,87%and 81%,*** best prediction equation was:NE=(0.815×AME)—(0.026×CP)+(0.020×EE)—(0.024×NDF)with NE and AME as MJ/kg DM,and CP,EE and NDF as%of *** NE prediction equations from this study agree with other recently reported equation

The objective of the study was to compare the efficacy of one topical insecticide-acaricide (Frontline Tri-Act?) and of one collar (seresto?) against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) on dogs exposed to bi-weekly water showering. Twenty four (24) dogs were enrolled in the study. A first set of 16 dogs were acclimatised to their cages from Day 1 to 7 and a second set of 8 dogs from Day 163 to Day 169. The 24 dogs were randomly allocated to three groups (1 to 3). Dogs.a.signed to Group 1 were not treated and served as negative controls. Dogs.a.signed to Group 2 received the seresto? collar on Day 0 and dogs in Group 3 received Frontline Tri-Act? on Days 170 and 198. The dogs were observed hourly for four hours after treatment administration for possible adverse reactions. Dogs in Groups 1 and 2 underwent water showering on Days 14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84, 98, 112, 126, 143 and 157. Dogs in all groups underwent water showering on Days 173, 185, 199 and 213. Dogs were infested with approximately 100 (±4) adult, unfed C. felis fleas only on Days 177, 190, 203, and 217, in alternance with infestations with 50 adult unfed R. sanguineus on Days 182, 196, 210, and 224, to assess sustained efficacy. Fleas and ticks were removed and counted on 24 and 48 hours ± 2 hours after each infestation, respectively. Frontline Tri-Act? was >99% effective against C. felis following an initial and a second monthly administration on dogs that were water showered bi-weekly. The seresto? collar was from 68.3% to 92.9% effective against C. felis Days 178 to 218 after collar administration. Frontline Tri-Act? was effective from 87.8% to 100% against ticks whereas seresto collar was effective from 82.2% to 94.2% from Day 184 to Day 226.
