With the increasing impacts of climate change and resource depletion,dielectric capacitors,with their exceptional stability,fast charging and discharging rates,and ability to operate under more extreme conditions,are emerging as promising high-demand candidates for high-performance energy storage devices,distinguishing them from traditional electrochemical capacitors and ***,due to the shortcomings of various dielectric ceramics(e.g.,paraelectrics(PEs),ferroelectrics(FEs),and antiferroelectrics(AFEs)),their low polarizability,low breakdown strength(BDS),and large hysteresis loss limit their standalone use in the advancement of energy storage ***,synthesizing novel perovskite-based materials that exhibit high energy density,high energy efficiency,and low loss is crucial for achieving superior energy storage *** this review,we outline the recent development of perovskitebased ferroelectric energy storage ceramics from the perspective of combinatorial optimization for tailoring ferroelectric hysteresis loops and comprehensively discuss the properties arising from the different combinations of *** also provide future guidelines in this ***,the combinatorial optimization strategy in this review will open up a practical route toward the application of new high-performance ferroelectric energy storage devices.

Metagenomic studies of various soil environments have previously revealed the widespread distribution of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)around the *** this study,we applied shotgun metagenomics to investigate differences in microbial communities and resistomes in Chernozem soils that have been under long-term organic and conventional cropping *** organic cropping system was seeded with Triticum spelta without any *** conventional cropping system was seeded with Tríticum durum Desf and used mineral fertilizer(NPK),that resulted in an increased amount of total and available carbon and nitrogen in *** all samples,we identified a total of 21 ARG classes,among which the dominant were vancomycin,tetracycline and *** of soil microbial communities revealed differences between the studied fields in the relative abundances of 14 and 53 genera in topsoil and subsoil,*** analysis showed significant correlations(positive and negative)among 18 genera and 6 ARGs,as well as between these ARGs and some chemical properties of *** analysis of metagenome-assembled genomes revealed that Nitrospirota,Thermoproteota,Actinobacteriota and Binatota phyla of archaea and bacteria serve as hosts for glycopeptide and fluoroquinolone/tetracycline ***,the data obtained enrich knowledge about the consequences of human agricultural activities in terms of soil microbiome modification and highlight the role of nitrogen cycling taxa,including uncultivated genera,in the formation of soil resistome.

The economy of most rural locations in the semi-arid region of Llano Estacado in the southern United States is predominantly based on agriculture, primarily beef and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. This region is prone to drought and is projected to experience a drier climate. Droughts that coincide with the critical phenological phases of a crop can be remarkably costly. Although drought cannot be prevented, its losses can be minimized through mitigation measures if it is predicted in advance. Predicting yield loss from an imminent drought is an important need of stakeholders. One way to fulfill this need is using an agricultural drought index, such as the Agricultural Reference Index for Drought (ARID). Being plant physiology-based, ARID can represent drought-yield relationships accurately. This study developed an ARID-based yield model for predicting the drought-induced yield loss for winter wheat in this region by accounting for its phenological phase-specific sensitivity to water stress. The reasonable values of the drought sensitivity coefficients of the yield model indicated that it could reflect the phenomenon of water stress decreasing the winter wheat yields in this region reasonably. The values of the various metrics used to evaluate the model, including Willmott Index (0.86), Nash-Sutcliffe Index (0.61), and percentage error (26), indicated that the yield model performed fairly well at predicting the drought-induced yield loss for winter wheat. The yield model may be useful for predicting the drought-induced yield loss for winter wheat in the study region and scheduling irrigation allocation based on phenological phase-specific drought sensitivity.

Understanding the characteristics of extreme rainfall is crucial for effective flood management planning, as it enables the incorporation of insights from past extreme rainfall patterns and their spatiotemporal distribution. This work investigated the changes in the frequency and pattern of extreme rainfall over Uganda, using daily datasets sourced from climate Hazard Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station (CHIRPS-v2) for the period 1981 to 2022. The study utilized the extreme weather Indices provided by the Expert Team on climate Change Detection and Indices (ETCCDI). Attention was directed towards September to November (SON) rainfall season with precise analysis of four indices (Rx1day, Rx5day, R95p, and R99p). The Sequential Mann-Kendall (SQMK) non-parametric test was applied to identify abrupt changes in SON extreme rainfall trends. Results showed that October consistently recorded the highest count of extreme rainfall days across all four indices. The long-term analysis revealed fluctuations in extreme rainfall events across years, with certain periods exhibiting heightened intensity. The analysis portrayed a shift in the decadal variations and region-specific distribution of extreme rainfall, with Eastern Uganda and areas around Lake Victoria standing out compared to other regions. The findings further revealed an increase in extreme rainfall for all indices in the recent decade (2011-2022) with 2019/2020 standing out as the extreme years of SON for the study period. While trendlines suggested a slight increase in intense daily rainfall events, the SQMK tests revealed statistical significance in the trend of prolonged periods of intense daily rainfall. This study contributes to the understanding of the spatiotemporal variability and trends of extreme rainfall events over Uganda during the SON season, which is crucial for the assessment of climate change impacts and adaptation strategies. A simple approach that considers both internal decadal variability and the effect of anthropogenic forcing is developed to predict the decadal components of global sea surface temperatures (SSTs) for the three decades 2011-2040. The internal decadal component is derived by harmonic wave expansion analyses based on the quasiperiodic evolution of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) and the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO), as obtained from observational SST datasets. Furthermore, the external decadal component induced by anthropogenic forcing is assessed with a second-order fit based on the ensemble of projected SSTs in the experiments with multiple coupled climate models associated with the third Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP3) under the Intergovernmental Panels on climate Change (IPCC) Special Reports on Emissions Scenario (SRES) A1B. A validation for the years from 2002 to 2010 based on a comparison of the predicted and the observed SST and their spatial correlation, as well as the root mean square error (RMSE), suggests that the approach is reasonable overall. In addition, the predicted results over the 50°S-50°N global band, the Indian Ocean, the western Pacific Ocean, the tropical eastern Pacific Ocean, and the North and the South Atlantic Ocean are presented.
