A hydrogen energy storage system(HESS)is one of the many risingmodern green innovations,using excess energy to generate hydrogen and storing it for various *** that,there have been many discussions about commercializing HESS and improving it ***,the design and sizing process can be overwhelming to comprehend with various sources to examine,and understanding optimal design methodologies is crucial to optimize a HESS *** that,this review aims to collect and analyse a wide range of HESS studies to summarise recent *** different collections of studies are studied,one was sourced by the main author for preliminary readings,and another was obtained via *** findings from the Web of Science platform were also examined for amore comprehensive *** findings include the People’sRepublic of China has been active in HESS research,as most works and active organizations originate from this *** has been mainly researched to support power generation and balance load demands,with financial analysis being the common scope of *** is a common tool used for HESS design,modelling,and optimization as it can handle complex *** neural network(ANN)has the potential to be used to model the HESS,but additional review is required as a formof future *** a commercialization perspective,pressurized hydrogen tanks are ideal for hydrogen storage in a HESS,but other methods can be considered after additional research and *** this review,it can be implied that modelling works will be the way forward for HESS research,but extensive collaborations and additional review are ***,this review summarized various takeaways that future research works on HESS can use.

A Cyber Kill Chain Approach for Detecting Advanced Persistent Threats

The number of cybersecurity incidents is on the rise despite significant investment in security *** existing conventional security approaches have demonstrated limited success against some of the more complex *** is primarily due to the sophistication of the attacks and the availability of powerful *** devices such as the Internet of Things(IoT)are also increasing attack exposures due to the increase in *** the last few years,we have seen a trend moving towards embracing edge technologies to harness the power of IoT devices and 5G *** technology brings processing power closer to the network and brings many advantages,including reduced latency,while it can also introduce vulnerabilities that could be *** cities are also dependent on technologies where everything is *** interconnectivity makes them highly vulnerable to cyber-attacks,especially by the Advanced Persistent Threat(APT),as these vulnerabilities are amplified by the need to integrate new technologies with legacy *** behind APT attacks have recently been targeting the IoT ecosystems,prevalent in many of these *** this paper,we used a publicly available dataset on Advanced Persistent Threats(APT)and developed a data-driven approach for detecting APT stages using the Cyber Kill *** are highly sophisticated and targeted forms of attacks that can evade intrusion detection systems,resulting in one of the greatest current challenges facing security *** this experiment,we used multiple machine learning classifiers,such as Naïve Bayes,Bayes Net,KNN,Random Forest and Support Vector Machine(SVM).We used Weka performance metrics to show the numeric *** best performance result of 91.1%was obtained with the Naïve Bayes *** hope our proposed solution will help security professionals to deal with APTs in a timely and effective manner.

New bounds on the mutual information for discrete constellations and application to wireless channel estimation

The lack of closed-form expressions of the mutual information for discrete constellations has limited its uses for analyzing reliable communication over wireless fading *** order to address this issue,this paper proposes analytically-tractable lower bounds on the mutual information based on Arithmetic-Mean-Geometric-Mean(AMGM)*** new bounds can apply to a wide range of discrete constellations and reveal some insights into the rate behavior at moderate to high Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)*** usability of the bounds is further demonstrated to approximate the optimum pilot overhead in stationary fading channels.

We discuss the problem of accountability when multiple parties cooperate towards an end result,such as multiple companies in a supply chain or departments of a government service under different *** cases where a fully trusted central point does not exist,it is difficult to obtain a trusted audit trail of a workflow when each individual participant is unaccountable to all *** propose AudiWFlow,an auditing architecture that makes participants accountable for their contributions in a distributed *** scheme provides confidentiality in most cases,collusion detection,and availability of evidence after the workflow *** is based on verifiable secret sharing and real-time peer-to-peer verification of records;it further supports multiple levels of assurance to meet a desired trade-off between the availability of evidence and the overhead resulting from the auditing *** propose and evaluate two implementation approaches for *** first one is fully distributed except for a central auxiliary point that,nevertheless,needs only a low level of *** second one is based on smart contracts running on a public blockchain,which is able to remove the need for any central point but requires integration with a blockchain.

Cells are the fundamental units of biological systems and exhibit unique development trajectories and molecular features. Our exploration of how the genomes orchestrate the formation and maintenance of each cell, and control the cellular phenotypes of various organismsis, is both captivating and intricate. Since the inception of the first single-cell RNA technology, technologies related to single-cell sequencing have experienced rapid advancements in recent years. These technologies have expanded horizontally to include single-cell genome, epigenome,proteome, and metabolome, while vertically, they have progressed to integrate multiple omics data and incorporate additional information such as spatial sc RNA-seq and CRISPR screening. Single-cell omics represent a groundbreaking advancement in the biomedical field,offering profound insights into the understanding of complex diseases, including cancers. Here, we comprehensively summarize recent advances in single-cell omics technologies, with a specific focus on the methodology section. This overview aims to guide researchers in selecting appropriate methods for single-cell sequencing and related data analysis.

Query Performance Prediction for Information Retrieval Based on Covering Topic Score

We present a statistical method called Covering Topic Score （CTS） to predict query performance for information retrieval. Estimation is based on how well the topic of a user＇s query is covered by documents retrieved from a certain retrieval system. Our approach is conceptually simple and intuitive, and can be easily extended to incorporate features beyond bag- of-words such as phrases and proximity of terms. Experiments demonstrate that CTS significantly correlates with query performance in a variety of TREC test collections, and in particular CTS gains more prediction power benefiting from features of phrases and proximity of terms. We compare CTS with previous state-of-the-art methods for query performance prediction including clarity score and robustness score. Our experimental results show that CTS consistently performs better than, or at least as well as, these other methods. In addition to its high effectiveness, CTS is also shown to have very low computational complexity, meaning that it can be practical for real applications.

Globally,educational institutions have reported a dramatic shift to online learning in an effort to contain the COVID-19 *** fundamental concern has been the continuance of *** a result,several novel solutions have been developed to address technical and pedagogical ***,these were not the only difficulties that students *** implemented solutions involved the operation of the educational process with less regard for students’changing circumstances,which obliged them to study from *** should be asked to provide a full list of their *** a result,student reflections,including those from Saudi Arabia,have been analysed to identify obstacles encountered during the COVID-19 ***,most of the analyses relied on closed-ended questions,which limited student *** delve into students’responses,this study used open-ended questions,a qualitative method(content analysis),a quantitative method(topic modelling),and a sentimental *** study also looked at students’emotional states during and after the COVID-19 *** terms of determining trends in students’input,the results showed that quantitative and qualitative methods produced similar *** had unfavourable sentiments about studying during COVID-19 and positive sentiments about the face-to-face ***,topic modelling has revealed that the majority of difficulties are more related to the environment(home)and social *** were less accepting of online *** a result,it is possible to conclude that face-to-face study still attracts students and provides benefits that online study cannot,such as social interaction and effective eye-to-eye communication.

As big data,its technologies,and application continue to advance,the Smart Grid(SG)has become one of the most successful pervasive and fixed computing platforms that efficiently uses a data-driven approach and employs efficient information and communication technology(ICT)and cloud *** a result of the complicated architecture of cloud computing,the distinctive working of advanced metering infrastructures(AMI),and the use of sensitive data,it has become challenging tomake the SG *** of the SG are categorized into two main categories,Technical Losses(TLs)and Non-Technical Losses(NTLs).Hardware failure,communication issues,ohmic losses,and energy burnout during transmission and propagation of energy are ***’s are human-induced errors for malicious purposes such as attacking sensitive data and electricity theft,along with tampering with AMI for bill reduction by fraudulent *** research proposes a data-driven methodology based on principles of computational intelligence as well as big data analysis to identify fraudulent customers based on their load *** our proposed methodology,a hybrid Genetic Algorithm and Support Vector Machine(GA-SVM)model has been used to extract the relevant subset of feature data from a large and unsupervised public smart grid project dataset in London,UK,for theft detection.A subset of 26 out of 71 features is obtained with a classification accuracy of 96.6%,compared to studies conducted on small and limited datasets.

Automated transformations from UML behavior models to contracts

In model driven architecture(MDA),system requirements are first captured by UML(unified modeling language)use cases with sequence diagrams to describe their intended use and implemented by classes of objected-oriented languages in the subsequent design *** is important that the dynamic behavior specified by the sequence diagrams is in full compliance with the implementation *** paper proposes an automatic approach and tool support for generating class contracts,which define a precondition and a postcondition for each operation of the *** former serves as a guard to ensure invocations of the operations respect the semantics introduced by the sequence diagrams,and the latter places the system in a legal state to facilitate the succeeding operation *** contracts can be easily mapped to code of an object-oriented language such as ***,the approach helps to bridge the gap between the requirements and design stages of system development *** use our model transformation tool to first generate a UML protocol state machine from the sequence diagrams,and then derive the contracts for a controller *** transformations take into account the concurrency and critical constructs of the respective UML diagrams.

digital Forensics for Skulls Classification in Physical Anthropology Collection Management

The size,shape,and physical characteristics of the human skull are distinct when considering individual *** physical anthropology,the accurate management of skull collections is crucial for storing and maintaining collections in a cost-effective *** example,labeling skulls inaccurately or attaching printed labels to skulls can affect the authenticity of *** the multiple issues associated with the manual identification of skulls,we propose an automatic human skull classification approach that uses a support vector machine and different feature extraction methods such as gray-level co-occurrence matrix features,Gabor features,fractal features,discrete wavelet transforms,and combinations of *** underlying facial bone exhibits unique characteristics essential to the face’s physical structure that could be exploited for ***,we developed an automatic recognition method to classify human skulls for consistent identification compared with traditional classification *** our proposed approach,we were able to achieve an accuracy of 92.3–99.5%in the classification of human skulls with mandibles and an accuracy of 91.4–99.9%in the classification of human skills without *** study represents a step forward in the construction of an effective automatic human skull identification system with a classification process that achieves satisfactory performance for a limited dataset of skull images.
