Five tryptophan analogues with a hydrophobic indole ring and an amino group on each molecule were used as functional ligands of mixed-mode resins for human serum albumin(HSA) purification. Their adsorption performance was evaluated and the effects of p H and salt addition on HSA adsorption were studied. The resins prepared showed typical p H-dependent adsorption and the highest adsorption capacity and affinity were found at pH 5.0for all the resins tested. The saturated adsorption capacity was 138.02 mg·g^(-1)with the tryptaminefunctionalized resin, which significantly decreased at p H below 4.0 due to electrostatic repulsion between ligands and HSA. Moreover, the addition of Na Cl or(NH_4)_2SO_4in media reduced HSA adsorption capacity, although the two salts showed different affecting profiles. The tryptamine-functionalized resin showed the best salt-tolerant performance, and its high adsorption capacity was maintained under high salt concentrations. In addition, the five resins prepared showed good adsorption selectivity for recombinant HSA from Pichia pastoris broth. Molecular docking results between tryptamine and HSA indicated that tryptamine was favorable to bind on Site II(indole-binding site) of HSA.

The phytohormone auxin has been shown to be of pivotal importance in growth and development of land *** underlying molecular players involved in auxin biosynthesis, transport, and signaling are quite well understood in ***, functional characterizations of auxin-related genes in economically important crops, specifically maize and rice, are still *** this article, we comprehensively review recent functional studies on auxirelated genes in both maize and rice, compared with what is known in Arabidopsis, and highlight conservation and diversification of their functions. Our analysis is illustrated by phylogenetic analysis and publicly available gene expression data for each gene family, which will aid in the identification of auxin-related genes for future *** challenges and future directions for auxin research in maize and rice are *** in gene editing techniques provide powerful tools for overcoming the issue of redundancy in these gene families and will undoubtedly advance auxin research in crops.

Investigations of ^(239+240)Pu and ^(238)Pu in the surface layer(0–5 cm) of bottom sediment in the Crimean 10 salt lakes from 4 geographical groups were carried out for the first time. The ^(239+240)Pu varied widely between regional geographical groups of lakes as well as within groups too and ranged from 11±4 to 451±43 mBq^(239+240)Pu/kg. The highest levels of ^(239+240)Pu—419±27, 443±24 and 451±43 mBq/kg were observed in the Yevpatoriya(Lake Kyzyl-Yar), the Tarkhankut(Dzharylhach) and the Kerch group(Tobechik), respectively. The lowest values of ^(239+240)Pu were identified in three lakes of the Perekop group and were 20±12, 24±6 and 48±6 mBq/kg. In all lakes ^(238)Pu was an order of magnitude lower than 239+240 Pu and varied from 4.8±2.6 to 30.7±5.5 mBq/kg. The ^(238)Pu activity was decay-corrected to 1986. The characteristic ratio of the ^(238)Pu/239+240 Pu activities in the sediment and percentage of the Chernobyl-derived Pu was calculated. The largest percentages of the Chernobyl-derived Pu were observed in the Evpatoriya group(Lake SasykSivash)—16.2%±8.26%, the Tarkhankut group(Dzharylhach)—8.4%±2.10% and the Kerch group(Aktash)—10.5%±5.56%. The study of the depth distribution of plutonium in the Lake Kyzyl-Yar bottom sediment core(0–25 cm) was fulfilled. It was shown that 239+240 Pu was high enough in all studied layers of bottom sediment, but the highest activity ratio ^(238)Pu/239+240 Pu(0.062±0.020) was found in the deepest layer of 15–20.5 cm and the percentage of Chernobyl-derived Pu was estimated at 6.8%±2.85% in this layer.

The preparation of environmentally friendly oil/water separation materials remains a great ***-drying of wood after lignin removal yields wood aerogels,which can be used as substrates to prepare fluorine-free environmentally friendly superhydrophobic materials,However,they are more suitable for absorption rather than filtration applications due to their poor strength.A study using cross-sections of pristine wood chips as substrates retains the original strength of wood,but the use of the cross-sectional of wood pieces limits their thickness,strength,and *** this paper,a degradable fluorine-free superhydrophobic film(*** contact angle of approximately 164.2°)with self-cleaning and abrasion resistance characteristics was prepared by a one-step method using pristine and activated walnut longitudinal section films as the substrate,with tetraethyl orthosilicate as a precursor and dodecyltriethoxysilane as a *** tensile strength results show that superhydrophobic films with pristine or activated wood substrates maintained the strength of pristine wood and were 2.2 times stronger than the wood aerogel *** addition,after cross-laminating the two samples,the films had the ability to separate oil and water by continuous filtration with high efficiency(98.5%)and flux(approximately 1.3×10^(3)L∙m^(‒2)∙h^(‒1)).The method has potential for the large-scale fabrication of degradable superhydrophobic filtration separation membranes.

A facile synthesis for cyanochlorin related to chlorophyll from a formyl-substituted chlorin, by the oxidation of methyl （pyro）pheophorbide-a, was accomplished. These readily available chlorin aldehydes were assembled together with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in a tandem process to produce the corresponding chlorin nitriles in moderate to good yields. The formation of chlorin nitrile was discussed and a possible mechanism for the corresponding cyanation reaction was tentatively proposed.

This contribution is a preliminary techno-economic assessment of a biogas-based oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) process. Biogas is frequently utilized as a renewable energy source within small scale combined heat and power plants or as a natural gas substitute. The activation of methane also enables its utilization as a feedstock to produce chemicals. In this sense, the OCM process allows for the direct conversion of methane into ethylene, which is a major building block for the chemical and polymer industries. Biogas resulting from the anaerobic digestion of vinasse, a liquid effluent from bioethanol industry, is treated for contaminant removal and its methane content is converted into ethylene, which is then purified as the main product. The biogas cleaning process is assessed based on literature data, while an experimentally validated simulation model is used to assess the OCM process. A techno-economic evaluation is then performed through a Monte Carlo simulation, wherein uncertain parameters take random values between reasonable bounds. The net present value results positive in 74% of the cases, indicating that the project is profitable under a wide range of scenarios. Some performance improvement opportunities have been identified and highlighted to guide future studies in the topic.

Increased attention has been given to the fate of pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) introduced to the wastewater treatment *** and adsorbed PAHs were detected in the centralized wastewater treatment plant of a chemical industry zone in Zhejiang Province,*** most abundant PAHs were the low molecular weight PAHs (e.g.,Acy,Ace,Flu and Phe),accounting for more than 80% of the total 16 PAHs in each treatment *** partitioning suggested that the removal of PAHs in every treatment stage was influenced greater by the sorption of particles or *** removal efficiencies of individual PAHs ranged between 4% and 87% in the primary sedimentation stage,between 1% and 42% in anaerobic hydrolysis stage,between group was up to 48%.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is a long-term complication associated with nerve dysfunction and uncontrolled *** spite of new drug discoveries,development of effective therapy is much needed to cure ***,we have developed a combinatorial approach to provide biochemical and electrical cues,considered to be important for nerve *** derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells(BMSCs)were fused with polypyrrole nanoparticles(PpyNps)containing liposomes to deliver both the cues in a single delivery *** developed DPN rat model and injected intramuscularly the fused exosomal system to understand its long-term therapeutic *** found that the fused system along with electrical stimulation normalized the nerve conduction velocity(57.60±0.45 m/s)and compound muscle action potential(16.96±0.73 mV)similar to healthy control(58.53±1.10 m/s;18.19±1.45 mV).Gastrocnemius muscle morphology,muscle mass,and integrity were recovered after ***,we also observed paracrine effect of delivered exosomes in controlling hyperglycemia and loss in body weight and also showed attenuation of damage to the tissues such as the pancreas,kidney,and *** work provides a promising effective treatment and also contribute cutting edge therapeutic approach for the treatment of DPN.

Characterization of bla_(CTX-M) Gene in One Klebsiella pneumoniae Isolate from Sick Chickens in China

Two Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates （Kpcl and Kpc2） were obtained from liver samples of seven dead chickens and identified with Vitek-32 automated identification system. Antimicrobial susceptibilities were determined by the microdilution broth method. Detection of genes encoding class A β-lactamases was performed by PCR amplification, and cloning of the ESBL gene was by plasmid restriction and fragments ligation. Conjugation assay, transformation experiments and plasmid profile analysis were performed. The incompatibility group of ESBL-carrying plasmid was determined by the PCR-based replicon typing method. Lastly, the genetic environment was analysed by direct sequencing of the DNA surrounding the ESBL gene. The genes associated with tetracycline and gentamicin resistance were also sought by PCR. The results revealed that the ESBL phenotype-negative strain Kpc2 only showed resistance to ampicillin, amoxicillin, tetracycline, and doxycycline and carried bla TEM-1 and tet（A） genes. The ESBL-producing strain Kpcl exhibited multidrug resistant phenotype and harbored bla TEM-1 , bla CTX-M-14, tet（A）, tet（B）, and rmtB genes. K. pneumoniae Kpcl contained four plasmids with molecular sizes of approximately 59, 6.9, 2.8, and 1.6 kb, but only a 59-kb plasmid, carried bla TEM-1 and blac CTM-14 genes, was observed in its transconjugant. The incompatibility group of plasmid carrying blaCTX-M-14 gene could not be determined. The bla CTX-M-14 gene was flanked upstream by an ISEcpl insertion sequence and downstream by an IS903 element. This work shows that CTX-M-14 is present in K. pneumoniae isolates from chickens in China. The bla CTX -M-4 gene was associated with an upstream ISEcpl insertion sequence. Our results underline the need for continuous surveillance of the prevalence and evolution of this CTX-M-type β-lactamase in China.
