Monitoring the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance genes(ARGs)is vital for addressing the global crisis of antibiotic-resistant bacterial *** its importance,the characterization of ARGs and microbiome structures,as well as the identification of indicators for routine ARG monitoring in pig farms,are still lacking,particularly concerning variations in antimicrobial exposure in different countries or ***,metagenomics and random forest machine learning were used to elucidate the ARG profiles,microbiome structures,and ARG contamination indicators in pig manure under different antimicrobial pressures between China and *** showed that Chinese pigs exposed to high-level antimicrobials exhibited higher total and plasmid-mediated ARG abundances compared to those in European pigs(Pantimicrobial resistance risk and provide validated indicators for evaluating the risk of ARG contamination in pig farms.

Low-and middle-income countries faced significant challenges in accessing COVID-19 vaccines during the early stages of the *** this study,we utilized an agestructured modeling approach to examine the implications of various vaccination strategies,vaccine prioritization,and vaccine rollout speeds in Thailand,an upper-middleincome country experiencing vaccine shortages during the early stages of the *** model directly compares the effectiveness of several vaccination strategies,including the heterologous vaccination where CoronaVac(CV)vaccine was administered as the first dose,followed by ChAdOx1 nCoV-19(AZ)vaccine as the second dose,under varying disease transmission *** found that the traditional AZ homologous vaccination was more effective than the CV homologous vaccination,regardless of disease transmission ***,combining CV and AZ vaccines via either parallel homologous or heterologous vaccinations was more effective than relying solely on AZ homologous ***,prioritizing vaccination for the elderly aged 60 years and above was the most effective way to reduce mortality when community transmission is *** the other hand,prioritizing workers aged 20e59 was most effective in lowering COVID-19 cases,irrespective of the transmission ***,despite the vaccine prioritization strategy,rapid vaccine rollout speeds were crucial in reducing COVID-19 infections and *** findings suggested that in low-and middle-income countries where early access to high-efficacy vaccines might be limited,obtaining any accessible vaccines as early as possible and using them in parallel with other higherefficacy vaccines might be a better strategy than waiting for and relying solely on higher-efficacy vaccines.

Salmonella enterica is one of the most common bacterial pathogens in humans and *** studies on the trends and geographical distribution of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella and dominant serovars have been well studied in European and American countries while not in ***,taking the One-Health strategy,we used>35 000 Salmonella enterica isolates to explore the temporal and spatial dynamics of dominant serovars in *** found that Salmonella Typhimurium was the dominant serovar causing human infection in China,which was consistent with Australia but inconsistent with North American and European *** proportion of Salmonella serovars Typhimurium,London,Rissen,Corvallis,Meleagridis,Kentucky,and Goldcoast showed an increasing trend during *** randomly selected 1962 isolates for comparative genomics and antimicrobial resistance studies and found that the number of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs) per isolate increased 1.84 and 2.69 times of human and non-human origins,respectively,spanning 14 *** proportion of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella isolates had an increasing trend during 2006-2019,especially beta-lactam,quinolone,tetracycline,and rifampicin ***,we found that higher diversity of sequence types(STs) in *** than in other serovars,ST34 from pig and ST 19 from chicken origin,were mainly associated with isolates causing child and adult gastro-infection,*** results fill in the data gap on the trends of dominant serovars and antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella enterica in *** data provide useful information for public health decision-makers prioritizing interventions for foodborne diseases and food safety.

antimicrobial drug resistance in pathogenic bacteria is a growing concern worldwide,posing a critical threat to global *** conventional antibiotics still play a crucial role in treating bacterial infections,the emergence and spread of antibiotic-resistant micro-organisms are rapidly eroding their ***,antibiotics are largely ineffective against persisters and biofilms as they target metabolically active *** bacteria can be up to 1000 times more resistant to antibiotics than their planktonic *** showed that beta-peptides have interesting antibacterial properties.A glycosylated cationic co-beta-peptide(PDGu（7）-b-PBLK（13）),can completely eradicate biofilms of the Gram-positive bacterium Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus through its combination of bactericidal,anti-persister,and biofilm dispersal *** glycosylated cationic co-beta-peptide（PAS8-b-PDM12） reverses the intrinsic antibiotic resistance in all the ESKAPE Gram-negative ***,we showed that a main-chain cationic polyimidazoliums（PIM1） that displays broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity even against pan-antibiotic-resistant Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria with a new ***,this polymer shows interesting anti-NTM（non-tuberculosis mycobacterium） efficacy.I will discuss our mixed-charge and NO-releasing zwitterionic polymer coatings displayed good broad-spectrum antibiofilm activity with good biocompatibility and low *** coating strategies are readily applicable for long-term biofilm-resistant and blood-compatible copolymer coatings covalently grafted from a wide range of medical devices.

The emergence and spread of plasmid-mediated tigecycline resistance genes have attracted extensive attention *** investigated the distribution of mobile tigecycline resistance genes in Salmonella genomes generated by both our laboratory and public bacterial genomes downloaded from the NCBI *** tet(X4)-positive strains were subjected to susceptibility testing and conjugation *** genetic features of the tet(X4)-bearing plasmid sequence were ***,we report the identification of the plasmid-mediated tigecycline resistance gene tet(X4)in a conjugative plasmid of the Salmonella enterica serovar Llandoff strain SH16G3606,isolated from a man in China in 2016,the first reported serovar Llandoff in China as a novel sequence type *** tet(X4)-mediated resistance phenotype was successfully transferred from the Salmonella Llandoff strain into Escherichia coli J53,resulting in a 32-fold increase in the minimal inhibitory concentration of *** tet(X4)gene was located between two copies of ISCR2 in the plasmid *** our knowledge,this is the first report of the plasmid-mediated tigecycline resistance gene tet(X4)in a Salmonella Llandoff strain isolated from a human stool sample in *** addition,our findings demonstrated that a total of 171 isolates are carrying tet(X)-like genes distributed in 21 countries or areas across 6 continents,posing a serious threat to humans and public ***,our timely discovery of the recent emergence of the tet(X4)gene in Salmonella isolates and other Enterobacteriaceae bacteria species supports the need for rapid surveillance to prevent the tet(X)-like gene from spreading.
