Nonlinear encoding in diffractive information processing using linear optical materials

Nonlinear encoding of optical information can be achieved using various forms of data ***,we analyze the performances of different nonlinear information encoding strategies that can be employed in diffractive optical processors based on linear materials and shed light on their utility and performance gaps compared to the state-of-the-art digital deep neural *** a comprehensive evaluation,we used different datasets to compare the statistical inference performance of simpler-to-implement nonlinear encoding strategies that involve,e.g.,phase encoding,against data repetition-based nonlinear encoding *** show that data repetition within a diffractive volume(e.g.,through an optical cavity or cascaded introduction of the input data)causes the loss of the universal linear transformation capability of a diffractive optical ***,data repetition-based diffractive blocks cannot provide optical analogs to fully connected or convolutional layers commonly employed in digital neural ***,they can still be effectively trained for specific inference tasks and achieve enhanced accuracy,benefiting from the nonlinear encoding of the input *** results also reveal that phase encoding of input information without data repetition provides a simpler nonlinear encoding strategy with comparable statistical inference accuracy to data repetition-based diffractive *** analyses and conclusions would be of broad interest to explore the push-pull relationship between linear material-based diffractive optical systems and nonlinear encoding strategies in visual information processors.

Direct Analysis of Whole Blood by a Disposable Monolithic Column Mass Spectrometry Analysis Kit

A monolithic column-based mass spectrometry(MS)analysis kit was prepared for whole blood analysis with *** kit is disposable and can be used for purification,storage,transportation and direct analysis of whole *** kit mainly consists of a capillary for quantitative microsampling,a cation exchange monolithic column for purification and storage,and a syringe for loading *** kit is very friendly to various users that one can easily siphon the blood in the kit followed by rapid *** established a quantitative method using the kit with a limit detection as low as 0.33 nmol/L,and achieved more than five orders of magnitude enhancement in sensitivity compared to direct nanoelectrospray ionization MS *** column can avoid analyte exposure to environment,which helps the storage of the sample for laboratory *** relative standard deviation of immediate blood analysis and storage blood analysis within 10 d was less than 10%.This method has been successfully applied to the quantitative analysis of procainamide hydrochloride in 2μL rat *** results indicate that this disposable kit does have the potential to achieve highly sensitive quantitative MS analysis in biological samples,which is expected to become a cost-effective and powerful tool for in vitro diagnostics.

Industrial utilization of arsenic-containing gold dressing tailings as pellet prepared by straight grate process

The utilization of arsenic-containing gold dressing tailings is an urgent issue faced by gold production companies *** thermodynamic analysis results indicate that ferrous arsenate(FeAsO_(4)),pyrite(FeS_(2))and sodium cyanide(NaCN)in the arsenic-containing gold metallurgical tailings can be effectively removed using straight grate process,and the removal of pyrite and sodium cyanide is basically completed during the preheating stage,while the removal of ferrous arsenate requires the roasting *** pellets undergo a transformation from magnetite to hematite during the preheating process,and are solidified through micro-crystalline bonding and high-temperature recrystallization of hematite(Fe_(2)O_(3))during the roasting ***,pellets with removal rates of 80.77% for arsenic,88.78% for sulfur,and 99.88% for cyanide are obtained,as well as the iron content is 61.1% and the compressive strength is 3071 N,meeting the requirements for blast furnace *** study provides an industrially feasible method for treating arsenic-containing gold smelting tailings,benefiting gold production enterprises.

Delayed and nonhealing of diabetic wounds imposes substantial economic burdens and physical pain on *** stem cells(MSCs)promote diabetic wound *** when MSCs aggregate into multicellular spheroids,their therapeutic effect is ***,traditional culture platforms are inadequate for the efficient preparation and delivery of MSC spheroids,resulting in inefficiencies and inconveniences in MSC spheroid *** this study,a three-dimensional porous nanofibrous dressing(NFD)is prepared using a combination of electrospinning and homogeneous *** thermal crosslinking,the NFD not only achieves satisfactory elasticity but also maintains notable *** the design of its structure and chemical composition,the NFD allows MSCs to spontaneously form MSC spheroids with controllable sizes,serving as MSC spheroid delivery systems for diabetic wound *** importantly,MSC spheroids cultured on the NFD exhibit improved secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor,basic fibroblast growth factor,and hepatocyte growth factor,thereby accelerating diabetic wound *** NFD provides a competitive strategy for MSC spheroid formation and delivery to promote diabetic wound healing.

Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)converts mechanical energy into valuable electrical energy,offering a solution for future energy *** an indispensable part of TENG,textile TENG(T-TENG)has incredible advantages in harvesting biomechanical energy and physiological signal ***,the application of T-TENG is restricted,partly because the fabric structure parameter and structure on T-TENG performance have not been fully *** study comprehensively investigates the effect of weaving structure on fabric TENGs(F-TENGs)for direct-weaving yarn TENGs and post-coating fabric *** direct-weaving F-TENGs,a single-yarn TENG(Y-TENG)with a core-sheath structure is fabricated using conductive yarn as the core layer yarn and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)filaments as the sheath *** fabrics with five different sets of parameters were designed and *** post-coating F-TENGs,fabrics with weaving structures of plain,twill,satin,and reinforced twill were fabricated and coated with conductive silver ***,the twill F-TENGs have the best electrical outputs,followed by the satin F-TENGs and plain weave ***,the increase of the Y-TENG gap spacing was demonstrated to improve the electrical output ***,T-TENGs are demonstrated for human-computer interaction and self-powered real-time *** systematic work provides guidance for the future T-TENG’s design.

Tomato(Solanum lycopersicum) stands as a crucial source of nutrients and a significant horticultural ***,its growth faches frequent hurdles due to late blight,a pervasive pathogenic threat caused by Phytophthora infestans(***).Plants wield a sophisticated immune system to combat pathogen invasion by recognizing and responding to various danger-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs).Among these,secreted peptides play a pivotal role in orchestrating cellular *** our study,we shed light on the beneficial impact of a specific secreted peptide,known as Rapid Alkalinization Factor(RALF),in fortifying tomato resistance against late *** infection with ***,we observed a notable alteration in the expression level of SlRALF,suggesting its involvement in the plant's defense *** delve deeper into its role,we transiently overexpressed SIRALF in tomato leaves and found it stimulated the expression of pathogen-related proteins(PRs),thereby enhancing tomato's disease *** experiments involved the creation of transgenic tomato plants overexpressing *** plants exhibited heightened expression of genes associated with scavenging reactive oxygen species(ROS) and disease resistance,coupled with reduced lesion areas compared to the control ***,the exogenous application of the secreted peptide SIRALF enhanced the disease resistance of tomato by eliciting the outburst of ROS and augmenting the transcript accumulation of ***,our findings underscore the pivotal role of SIRALF in bolstering tomato's defense against late *** study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of SIRALF in reducing late blight,enriching our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying plant stress ***,it lays a foundation for the development of resistant tomato varieties,offering promising prospects for sustainable crop management.

Late blight,caused by Phytophthora infestans(***),is among the most devastating diseases affecting tomato and other Solanaceae *** transfer proteins(LTps) represent a class of small,basic proteins that play a crucial role in combating biotic *** studies have shown that SILTPg1 most strongly responds after *** infestation among the LTps family in ***,the function of SILTPg1 in disease resistance remains ***,we constructed transient overexpression and identified VIGS-silenced lines of *** results revealed that SILTPg1 played a regulatory role in enhancing tomato resistance against *** enhancement was attributed to the upregulation of defense-related genes and reactive oxygen species(ROS) scavenging genes,as well as increased enzymaticantioxidant ***,we found that the SILTPg1 protein significantly inhibited the growth of Fusarium oxysporum(***) compared with the control by observing the zone of ***,we discovered that the diameter of lesions was smaller and the expression levels of the PR genes were upregulated in transient overexpression SILTPg1 of tobacco compared with the ***,we further constructed transgenictobacco lines of SILTPg1,presenting evidence that overexpression of SILTPg1 could positively regulate the resistance of tobacco to *** findings revealed the role of SILTPgl in tomato resistance to *** and tobacco resistance to ***,we propose SILTPg1 as a potential candidate gene for augmenting broad-spectrum plant resistance against pathogens.

Late blight,caused by(Phytophthora infestans) ***,seriously devastates tomato growth and ***-Inducted Peptides(PIPs) are a class of secreted peptides that function as endogenous elicitors,activating plant ***,we preliminarily demonstrated that the exogenous application of PIP1 improves tomato resistance to ***,research on transcription factors(TFs) regulating PIPs signaling in tomato defense is still lacking,and the combination of PIP signalling and TFs in defending pathogens is rarely ***,we identified the exogenous application of PIP-LIKE 1(PIPL1) can also enhance tomato resistance through the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis *** plants overexpressing the precursor of PIP 1 and PIPL1(prePIP1 and prePIPL1),showed increased expression of pathogenesis-related genes,ROS,and lignin accumulation,exhibiting stronger resistance to *** than the wild ***,we found that WRKY65 enable to activate the expression ofprePIPl and *** resistance and gene expression analysis demonstrated that overexpression of WRKY65(OEWRKY65) enhances resistance to ***,while knockout of wrky65 showed opposite ***,RNA-seq suggested that WRKY65 up-regulates the expression level of NLR ***,systematic analyses of transgenic tomato showed that whether spraying OEWRKY65 with PIPs or co-overexpression of prePIPl and WRKY65 can further enhance tomato resistance,highlighting the contributions of gene stacking to disease resistance against *** summary,this study provides novel insights for controlling late blight and breeding tomato resistance *** potential of utilizing exogenous application of PIPs as an ecofriendly tool for crop protection is highlighted,establishing a theoretical foundation for enhancing plant traits.

Light plays an important role in the photosynthesis and metabolic process of ***,how different light conditions regulate the biomass production and protein accumulation of microalgae is mostly *** this study,the influence of different light conditions,including light colors,densities,and light:dark cycles on the cell growth and biochemical composition of Spirulina platensis was symmetrically *** different colored lights,*** all shows an increase trend within the increased light intensity ranges;however,each showing different optimal light *** the same light intensity,different colored lights show different growth rate of *** following the sequence of red>white>green>yellow>*** maximum growth rate and protein accumulation were determined as 21.88 and 5.10 mg/(L·d)when illuminated under red *** energy efficiency of different light sources was calculated and ranked as red>white>blue≈green>*** analysis suggests that red light can promote cell growth and protein accumulation by upregulating genes related to photosynthesis,carbon fixation,and C-N metabolism *** study provides a conducive and efficient way to promote biomass production and protein accumulation of *** by regulating light conditions.
