The Fourier series of the 2π-periodic functions tg(x2)and 1sin(x)and some of their relatives (first of their integrals) are investigated and illustrated with respect to their convergence. These functions are Generalized functions and the convergence is weak convergence in the sense of the convergence of continuous linear functionals defining them. The figures show that the approximations of the Fourier series possess oscillations around the function which they represent in a broad band embedding them. This is some analogue to the Gibbs phenomenon. A modification of Fourier series by expansion in powers cosn(x)for the symmetric part of functions and sin(x)cosn−1(x)for the antisymmetric part (analogous to Taylor series) is discussed and illustrated by examples. The Fourier series and their convergence behavior are illustrated also for some 2π-periodic delta-function-like sequences connected with the Poisson theorem showing non-vanishing oscillations around the singularities similar to the Gibbs phenomenon in the neighborhood of discontinuities of functions. .

This paper presents in a concise way the main characteristics of life from the physical point of view and the most successful theories of biogenesis, together with a mathematical formulation and simulation of proto-biogenesis. We present here a calculation method for biochemical reactions based on the available reaction data base, and using this method, we calculate precise scenarios for the first life cycle, and for the first stages of terrestrial biological evolution.

This article gives a state-of-the-art description of the cosmological Lambda-CDM model and in addition, presents extensions of the model with new calculations of background and CMB functions. Chapters 1-4 describe the background part of the model, i.e. the evolution of scale factor and density according to the Friedmann equations, and its extension, which results in a correction of the Hubble parameter, in agreement with new measurements (Cepheids-SNIa and Red-Giants). Based on this improved background calculation presented in chapters 5-9 the perturbation part of the model, i.e. the evolution of perturbation and structure according to the perturbed Einstein equations and continuity-Euler equations, and the power spectrum of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) is calculated with a new own code.

Objective:To assess the epidemiology of urinary schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis among women of reproductive age in Mwaluphamba,Kwale County,***:A community-based cross-sectional study design was employed to randomly sample 422 women of reproductive age(15-10 mL of urine with median egg count of 18.45 eggs/10 *** patients were diagnosed with light infection,of 56.16 egg/gram and 48.48 egg/gram for Trichuris trichiura and hookworms,*** without latrines had 15.7 times higher risk of having urinary schistosomiasis compared to those with a ***,use of surface water(aOR=1.0,95%CI 0.2-1.4,P=0.010)and crossing the river to go to a place(aOR=1.1,95%CI 0.3-1.6,P=0.009)were statistically significant risk factors for getting urinary *** bivariable regression analysis,defecating around the water source(OR=4.3,95%CI 1.5-12.9)had a statistically significant association with the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis(P=0.008).Conclusions:This study has given an insight on the prevalence and intensity of urinary schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis in Mwaluphamba location that form a basis for strengthening the control and elimination programmes for these neglected tropical diseases.

The clinical role and underlying mechanisms of valproic acid(VPA)on bone homeostasis remain ***,we confirmed that VPA treatment was associated with decreased bone mass and bone mineral density(BMD)in both patients and *** effect was attributed to VPA-induced elevation in osteoclast formation and *** RNA-sequencing,we observed a significant rise in precursor miR-6359 expression in VPA-treated osteoclast precursors in vitro,and further,a marked upregulation of mature miR-6359(miR-6359)in vivo was demonstrated using quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)and miR-6359 fluorescent in situ hybridization(miR-6359-FISH).Specifically,the miR-6359 was predominantly increased in osteoclast precursors and macrophages but not in neutrophils,T lymphocytes,monocytes and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)following VPA stimulation,which influenced osteoclast differentiation and bone-resorptive ***,VPA-induced miR-6359 enrichment in osteoclast precursors enhanced reactive oxygen species(ROS)production by silencing the SIRT3 protein expression,followed by activation of the MAPK signaling pathway,which enhanced osteoclast formation and activity,thereby accelerating bone ***,there are no medications that can effectively treat VPA-induced bone ***,we constructed engineered small extracellular vesicles(E-sEVs)targeting osteoclast precursors in bone and naturally carrying anti-miR-6359 by introducing of EXOmotif(CGGGAGC)in the 3’-end of the anti-miR-6359 *** confirmed that the E-sEVs exhibited decent bone/osteoclast precursor targeting and exerted protective therapeutic effects on VPA-induced bone loss,but not on ovariectomy(OVX)and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporotic models,deepening our understanding of the underlying mechanism and treatment strategies for VPA-induced bone loss.

Biodegradable implants are critical for regenerative orthopaedic procedures,but they may suffer from too fast corrosion in human-body *** necessitates the synthesis of a suitable coating that may improve the corrosion resistance of these implants without compromising their mechanical *** this study,an AZ91 magnesium alloy,as a representative for a biodegradable Mg implant material,was modified with a thin reduced graphene oxide(RGO)-calcium carbonate(CaCO_(3))composite *** analytical and in-vitro electrochemical characterization reveals that this coating significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity,and thus has the potential to greatly extend the related application field.
