The significant demand for high quality food has motivated us to adopt appropriate processing methods to improve the food nutritional quality and *** this study,the effects of five drying methods,namely,pulsed vacuum drying(PVD),freeze drying(FD),infrared drying(IRD),hot-air drying(HAD)and sun drying(SD)on free amino acids(FAAs),α-dicarbonyl compounds(α-DCs)and volatile compounds(VOCs)in rape bee pollen(RBP)were *** results showed that FD significantly released the essential amino acids(EAAs)compared with fresh samples while SD caused the highest *** was the dominantα-DCs in RBP and the highest loss was observed after *** were the dominant volatiles of RBP and SD samples contained more new volatile substances(especially aldehydes)than the other four drying ***,FD and PVD would be potential methods to effectively reduce the quality deterioration of RBP in the drying process.

Like every other societal domain,science faces yet another reckoning caused by a bot called ChatGPT(Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer).ChatGPT was introduced in November 2022 to produce messages that seem like they were written by humans and are *** the release of the latest version of ChatGPT called GPT-4,and other similar models such as Google Bard,Chatsonic,Collosal Chat,these chatbots combine several(about 175 billion)neural networks pre-trained on large Language Models(LLMs),allowing them to respond to user promptings just like ***-4 for example can admit its mistakes and confront false assumptions thanks to the dialogue style,which also enables it to write essays and to keep track of the context of a discussion while it is ***,users may be deceived by the human-like text structure of the AI models to believe that it came from a human origin[1].These chatbot models could be better,even though they generate text with a high level of ***,they produce inappropriate or wrong responses,resulting in faulty inferences or ethical *** article will discuss some fundamental strengths and weaknesses of this Artificial intelligence(AI)system concerning scientific research.

Vibrio alginolyticus is a zoonotic bacterium.A pair of specific primers was designed using the sodB gene sequence of Vibrio alginolyticus HY9901 in order to amplify the full length of the gene by *** results indicated that the total length of the sodB gene was 585 bp and that it could encode 194 amino *** predicted amino acid sequence derivation indicated that the molecular weight of the protein was approximately 21.56 kDa,with an isoelectric point of *** prediction of the N-terminal signal peptide structure of the protein,no significant signal peptide cleavage site was observed,indicating that the protein lacked both a signal peptide and a transmembrane *** amino acid sequence contained an N-glycosylation site,a casein kinase II phosphorylation site,a microsomal C-terminal target signal site,and a manganese and iron superoxide dismutase signal *** probability of intracytoplasmic localization of the SodB protein was 56.5%,which was analyzed according to the subcellular localization of the *** amino acid sequence of the sodB gene of *** exhibited 98%-100%homology to other Vibrio species,clustering into the same subfamily with ***,indicating a relatively close relationship between *** the prediction of protein structure,the proportions ofα-helix,random coil,β-sheet,and extended strand were 48.45%,30.41%,5.67%,and 15.46%,*** similarity to template 1dt0.1.A reached 71.58%.A PTM site analysis revealed the presence of phosphorylation,glycosylation,ubiquitination,sumoylation,acetylation,and methylation modification sites,as well as the absence of lactylation modification sites.

The grazing-incidence hard X-ray retro-reflector (GIRR) is a novel optical element, which completely suppresses the conventional mirror beam in the retro-reflection mode, and, at the same time, totally reflects the primary grazing incident X-radiation backwards to its source in strictly anti-parallel direction with minimal scattering. The GIRR is a good alternative to hard X-ray normal-incidence Bragg mirror, and has a high potential for applications in various X-ray optical devices and techniques, such as, hard X-ray optical noise (or background) filters, high-quality hard X-ray waveguides, low-gain hard X-ray free electron laser resonators (XFELRs), X-ray holography, coherent X-ray diffraction imaging, phase-contrast imaging, as well as in hard X-ray optical data storage devices and deep space hard X-ray communications. The proposed optical element consists of single-crystal wafer covered by a thin, non-diffracting layer of low-absorbing material.

Comparison of sampling designs for calibrating digital soil maps at multiple depths

Digital soil mapping (DSM) aims to produce detailed maps of soil properties or soil classes to improve agricultural management and soil quality assessment. Optimized sampling design can reduce the substantial costs and efforts associated with sampling, profile description, and laboratory analysis. The purpose of this study was to compare common sampling designs for DSM, including grid sampling (GS), grid random sampling (GRS), stratified random sampling (StRS), and conditioned Latin hypercube sampling (cLHS). In an agricultural field (11 ha) in Quebec, Canada, a total of unique 118 locations were selected using each of the four sampling designs (45 locations each), and additional 30 sample locations were selected as an independent testing dataset (evaluation dataset). Soil visible near-infrared (Vis-NIR) spectra were collected in situ at the 148 locations (1 m depth), and soil cores were collected from a subset of 32 locations and subdivided at 10-cm depth intervals, totaling 251 samples. The Cubist model was used to elucidate the relationship between Vis-NIR spectra and soil properties (soil organic matter (SOM) and clay), which was then used to predict the soil properties at all 148 sample locations. Digital maps of soil properties at multiple depths for the entire field (148 sample locations) were prepared using a quantile random forest model to obtain complete model maps (CM-maps). Soil properties were also mapped using the samples from each of the 45 locations for each sampling design to obtain sampling design maps (SD-maps). The SD-maps were evaluated using the independent testing dataset (30 sample locations), and the spatial distribution and model uncertainty of each SD-map were compared with those of the corresponding CM-map. The spatial and feature space coverage were compared across the four sampling designs.
