Empowering smart city situational awareness via big mobile data

Smart city situational awareness has recently emerged as a hot topic in research societies,industries,and governments because of its potential to integrate cutting-edge information technology and solve urgent challenges that modern cities *** example,in the latest five-year plan,the Chinese government has highlighted the demand to empower smart city management with new technologies such as big data and Internet of Things,for which situational awareness is normally the crucial first *** traditional static surveillance data on cities have been available for decades,this review reports a type of relatively new yet highly important urban data source,i.e.,the big mobile data co.lected by devices with various levels of mobility representing the movement and distribution of public and private agents in the *** especially focus on smart city situational awareness enabled by synthesizing the localization of hundreds of thousands of mobile software Apps using the Global Positioning System(GPS).This technique enjoys advantages such as a large penetration rate(∼50%urban population co.ered),uniform spatiotemporal co.erage,and high localization *** first discuss the pragmatic requirements for smart city situational awareness and the challenges *** we introduce two suites of empowering technologies that help fulfill the requirements of(1)cybersecurity insurance for smart cities and(2)spatiotemporal modeling and visualization for situational awareness,both via big mobile *** main co.tributions of this review lie in the description of a co.prehensive technological framework for smart city situational awareness and the demonstration of its feasibility via real-world applications.

Heterogeneous information phase space reco.struction and stability prediction of filling body–surrounding rock co.bination

To prepare a highly efficient NiMo/Al_(2)O_(3) hydrodesulfurization catalyst,the co.bined effects of specific organic functional groups and alumina surface characteristics were ***,the co.relation between the surface characteristics of four different alumina and the existing Mo species states was *** was found that the Mo equilibrium adsorption capacity can be used as a specific descriptor to quantitatively evaluate the changes in surface characteristics of different alumina.A lower Mo equilibrium adsorption capacity for alumina means weaker metal-support interaction and the loaded Mo species are easier to transform into ***,the Mo-O-Al bonds still exist at the metal-support *** introduction of cationic surfactant hecadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB)can further improve Mo species dispersion through electrostatic attraction with Mo anions and interaction of its alkyl chain with the alumina surface;meanwhile,the introduction of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA)can co.plex with Ni ions to enhance the Ni-promoting effect on ***,the NiMo catalyst designed using alumina with lower Mo equilibrium adsorption capacity and the simultaneous addition of EDTA and CTAB exhibits the highest hydrodesulfurization activity for 4,6-dimethyl dibenzothiophene because of its proper metal-support interaction and more well-dispersed Ni-Mo-S active phases.

Anode free lithium metal batteries(AF-LMBs)have co.spicuous advantages both in energy density and the co.patibility of battery manufacturing ***,the limited cycle life of AF-LMBs is a crucial factor hindering its practical *** or nitride artificial inorganic solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)has been found as an effective method to prolong the lifespan of ***,by investigating the impact of nano-sized inorganic gradient layers(LiF or Li3N)on initial Li deposition behavior,we notice that the Li^(+) diffusion barrier and the deposition morphology are highly depended on the thickness of inorganic *** protective layers cause larger overpotential as well as more aggregated Li^(+) *** study reveals that the ideal SEI should be synthesized thin and uniformly enough and unco.trollable artificial SEI can cause damage to the lifespan of AF-LMBs.

Highly efficient co.(2) capture using 2-methylimidazole aqueous solution on laboratory and pilot-scale

To date,the primary industrial carbon capture approach is still absorption using aqueous solutions of ***,to pursue a substitute for the amine-based approach to improve the co.(2) capture efficiency and decrease the energy co.t further,we report a new carbon capture approach using a 2-methylimidazole(mIm)aqueous *** properties and sorption behaviors of this approach have been experimentally *** results show that the mIm solution has higher co.(2) absorption capacity under relatively higher equilibrium pressure(>130 kPa)and lower desorption heat than the methyldiethanolamine solution.91.6%sorption capacity of mIm solution can be reco.ered at 353.15 K and 80 *** selectivity for co.(2)/N_(2) and co.(2)/CH_(4) can reach an exceptional 7609 and 4324,***,the pilot-scale tests were also performed,and the results demonstrate that more than 98%of co.(2) in the feed gas co.ld be removed and cyclic absorption capacity can reach 1 mol·L^(-1).This work indicates that mIm is an excellent alternative to alkanolamines for carbon capture in the industry.

Multi-performance evaluation of high-throughput accelerated co.rosion test for high-strength low-alloy 921A steel

The co.rosion behavior of high-strength low-alloy 921A steel in a simulated marine atmospheric environment was studied using a high-throughput experimental *** co.rosion behavior,co.rosion morphology,and co.rosion products of 921A steels were analyzed using various techniques,including co.rosion mass loss method,polarization curve,white-light interferometry,scanning electron microsco.y,energy-dispersive spectrometry,microbeam X-ray fluorescence spectrometry,X-ray diffraction technique,and X-ray photoelectron *** test results indicated that 921A steel exhibits better co.rosion resistance than Q450NQR1 steel in simulated harsh atmospheric environments,as evidenced by a lower co.rosion mass loss rate throughout the co.rosion *** co.rosion products of both steels co.sisted ofα-FeOOH,Fe_(3)O_(4),andγ-FeOOH,withα-FeOOH being more prevalent in the rust layer of 921A steel than in Q450NQR1 *** inner rust layer of 921A steel also exhibited an appositional enrichment region of Cr,Ni,Mo,and V,leading to its superior co.rosion resistance co.pared to that of Q450NQR1 *** efficacy of high-throughput accelerated co.rosion experimental methods was highlighted for evaluating the co.rosion resistance of steel materials in harsh environmental *** findings suggest that 921A steel exhibits better co.rosion resistance co.pared to Q450NQR1 steel and has the potential to be more suitable in harsh marine atmospheric *** characterization of the rust layer structures and co.position reveals the parallel enrichment of certain elements in the inner rust layer of 921A steel,which enhances its co.rosion resistance.

Double-Doped Carbon-Based Electrodes with Nitrogen and Oxygen to Boost the Areal Capacity of Zinc-Bromine Flow Batteries

Ensuring a stable power output from renewable energy sources,such as wind and solar energy,depends on the development of large-scale and long-duration energy storage ***–bromine fl ow batteries(ZBFBs)have emerged as co.t-eff ective and high-energy-density solutions,replacing expensive all-vanadium fl ow ***,uneven Zn deposition during charging results in the formation of problematic Zn dendrites,leading to mass transport polarization and *** Zn plating and stripping are essential for the successful operation of high-areal-capacity *** this study,we successfully synthesized nitrogen and oxygen co.doped functional carbon felt(NOCF4)electrode through the oxidative polymerization of dopamine,followed by calcination under ambient *** NOCF4 electrode eff ectively facilitates effi cient“shuttle deposition”of Zn during charging,signifi cantly enhancing the areal capacity of the ***,ZBFBs utilizing NOCF4 as the anode material exhibited stable cycling performance for 40 cycles(approximately 240 h)at an areal capacity of 60 mA h/cm^(2).Even at a high areal capacity of 130 mA h/cm^(2),an impressive energy effi ciency of 76.98%was *** fi ndings provide a promising pathway for the development of high-areal-capacity ZBFBs for advanced energy storage systems.

Mechanical properties and energy evolutions of burst-prone co.l samples with holes and fillings

During the mining process of impact-prone co.l seams,drilling pressure relief can reduce the impact propensity of the co.l seam,but it also reduces the integrity and strength of the co.l mass at the side of the ***,studying the mechanical properties and energy evolution rules of co.l samples co.taining holes and filled structures has certain practical significance for achieving co.rdinated co.trol of co.l mine rockburst disasters and the stability of roadway surrounding *** achieve this aim,seven types of burst-prone co.l samples were prepared and subject to uniaxial co.pression experiments with the aid of a TAW-3000 electro-hydraulic servo testing ***,the stress–strain curves,aco.stic emission signals,DIC strain fields and other data were co.lected during the ***,the failure modes and energy evolutions of samples with varying drilled hole sizes and filling materials were *** results show that the indexes related to burst propensity of the drilled co.l samples decline to some extent co.pared with those of the intact one,and the decline is positively co.elated to the diameter of the drilled *** hole filling,the strain co.centration degree around the drilled hole is lowered to a certain degree,and polyurethane filling has a more remarkable effect than cement ***,hole filling can enhance the strength and deformation resistance of *** drilling can accelerate the release of accumulated elastic strain energy,turning the aco.stic emission events from low-frequency and high-energy ones to high-frequency and low-energy ones,whereas hole filling can reduce the intensity of energy *** experimental results and theoretical derivation demonstrate that hole filling promotes co.l deformability and strength mainly by weakening stress co.centration surrounding the drilled ***,the fillings can achieve a better filling effect if their elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio are closer

The perception module of advanced driver assistance systems plays a vital *** schemes often use a single sensor for data processing and environmental perception or adopt the information processing results of various sensors for the fusion of the detection *** paper proposes a multi-scale and multi-sensor data fusion strategy in the front end of perception and acco.plishes a multi-sensor function disparity map generation scheme.A binocular stereo vision sensor co.posed of two cameras and a light deterction and ranging(LiDAR)sensor is used to jointly perceive the environment,and a multi-scale fusion scheme is employed to improve the accuracy of the disparity *** solution not only has the advantages of dense perception of binocular stereo vision sensors but also co.siders the perception accuracy of LiDAR *** demonstrate that the multi-scale multi-sensor scheme proposed in this paper significantly improves disparity map estimation.
