Human fetuses exhibit notable sex differences in growth rate and response to the intrauterine environment,yet their origins and underlying mechanisms remain ***,we conduct a detailed investigation of sex differences in human pre-gastrulation *** lower methylation and incomplete inactivation of the X chromosome in females,as well as the sex-specific cell-cell communication patterns,contribute to sex-differential *** trophectoderm is more inclined toward syncytiotrophoblast differentiation and exhibits a stronger hormone secretion capacity,while female trophectoderm tends to retain cytotrophoblast program with stronger mitochondrial function as well as higher vasculogenesis and immunotolerance *** primitive endoderm initiates the anterior visceral endoderm transcriptional program earlier than *** cell cycle activities of the epiblast and primitive endoderm are higher in males compared to females,while the situation is opposite in the *** conclusion,our study provides in-depth insights into the sex differences in human pre-gastrulation embryos and contributes to unraveling the origins of the sex differences in human fetal development.

GSPT2 (G1 to S phase transition protein 2) has emerged as a critical regulator of the cell cycle and has garnered increased attention for its role in tumor biology in recent years. This review explores the multifaceted functions of GSPT2, highlighting its involvement in cell cycle regulation and signaling pathways, as well as its potential as a tumor biomarker. By analyzing the latest research findings, we examine the expression patterns of GSPT2 across various tumor types and its correlation with clinical outcomes, underscoring its significance in tumor initiation and progression. Furthermore, we discuss the prospects of GSPT2 as a therapeutic target, providing new insights for future research directions.

Factors influencing vaginal cuff dehiscence after laparoscopic hysterectomy and the psychological state of the patients

BACKGROUND Despite laparoscopic total hysterectomy provided more benefits to patients and has become one of the most commonly used surgical methods for total ***,vaginal cuff dehiscence is a serious complication after laparoscopic total hysterectomy and so far,there are limited studies on vaginal cuff dehiscence after a total *** To investigate the factors influencing vaginal cuff dehiscence after laparoscopic hysterectomy and the psychological state of the *** This study retrospectively,univariately,and multivariately analyzed the clinical data of patients who experienced vaginal cuff dehiscence after laparoscopic hysterectomy in Yuyao People’s hospital from January 2015 to December *** regression was utilized to analyze the high-risk factors of vaginal cuff *** Among 1459 cases with laparoscopic hysterectomy,9 reported vaginal cuff dehiscence postoperatively,with an incidence of 0.617%.Univariate logistic regression analysis revealed that preoperative hemoglobin value[odds ratio(OR)=5.12,P=0.016],vaginal cuff suture method(OR=0.26,P=0.048),and postoperative first sexual lifetime(OR=15.86,P=0.002)were associated with vaginal cuff dehiscence following laparoscopic *** logistic regression analysis revealed that preoperative hemoglobin value of<90 g/L(OR=5.17,P=0.015)and time interval between postoperative first sexual life and operation of<3 months(OR=54.00,P=0.004)are independent risk factors for vaginal cuff dehiscence after laparoscopic *** Postoperative hemoglobin and the time interval between postoperative first sexual life and operation were the independent factors of developing vaginal cuff dehiscence after laparoscopic hysterectomy.

4-Nitrophenol(4-NP),as a toxic and refractory pollutant,has generated significant concern due to its adverse ***,the potential toxic effects andmechanism remained *** this study,the reproduction,development,locomotion and reactive oxygen species(ROS)production of Caenorhabditis elegans were investigated to evaluate the 4-NP *** used metabolomics to assess the potential damage *** role of metabolites in mediating the relationship between 4-NP and phenotypes was examined by correlation and mediation analysis.4-NP(8 ng/L and 8μg/L)caused significant reduction of brood size,ovulation rate,total germ cells numbers,head thrashes and body bends,and an increase in ***,the oosperm numbers in uterus,body length and body width were decreased in 8μg/***,36 differential metabolites were enriched in the significant metabolic pathways,including lysine biosynthesis,β-alanine metabolism,tryptophan metabolism,pentose phosphate pathway,pentose and glucuronate interconversions,amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism,starch and sucrose metabolism,galactose metabolism,propanoate metabolism,glycerolipid metabolism,and estrogen signaling *** mechanism of 4-NP toxicity was that oxidative stress caused by the perturbation of amino acid,which had effects on energy metabolism through disturbing carbohydrate and lipid metabolism,and finally affected the estrogen signaling pathway to exert toxic ***,correlation and mediation analysis showed glycerol-3P,glucosamine-6P,glucosamine-1P,UDP-galactose,L-aspartic acid,and uracilwere potential markers for the reproduction and glucose-1,6P2 for developmental *** results provided insight into the pathways involved in the toxic effects caused by 4-NP and developed potential biomarkers to evaluate 4-NP toxicity.

Associations between food insecurity with gestational diabetes mellitus and maternal outcomes mediated by dietary diversity:A cross-sectional study

BACKGROUND Food insecurity(FI)during pregnancy negatively impacts maternal health and raises the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)and pregnancy-induced hypertension(PIH),resulting in adverse outcomes for both mother and *** To investigate the relationships between FI and pregnancy outcomes,particularly GDM and PIH,while also examining the mediating role of the dietary diversity score(DDS).METHODS A cross-sectional study was undertaken to examine this relationship,involving 600 pregnant *** were women aged 18 years or older who provided complete data on FI and pregnancy *** FI was measured via the Household Food Security Survey Module,with GDM defined as fasting plasma glucose levels of≥5.1 mmol/L or a 2-hour oral glucose tolerance test value of≥8.5 mmol/*** DDS is determined by evaluating one's food consumption based on nine distinct food groups.A logistic regression model was used to explore the relationship between FI and PIH,and *** Seventeen percent of participants reported experiencing FI during *** study found a significant association between FI and an elevated risk of GDM[odds ratio(OR)=3.32,95%CI:1.2-5.4].Once more,food-insecure pregnant women had higher rates of PIH(OR=0.10,95%CI:0.02-0.45)and they also faced a higher likelihood of neonatal complications,such as neonatal intensive care unit’s admissions and the birth of infants with extremely low birth *** FI wasfurther linked to metabolic disruptions,such as elevated fasting blood sugar(FBS),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,and triglyceride *** results indicate that the DDS acts as a significant mediator in the relationship between FI and the incidence of *** particular,the mediation analysis showed that approximately 65%of the effect was mediated through DDS(P=0.002).CONCLUSION These findings underscore the serious challenges that FI presents during pregnancy and its effects on maternal and infant ***,the study

Knowledge and Perception of Women on Uterine Fibroids in the gynecology-obstetrics Department of CHR Tsévié (Togo)

Introduction: Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that develop from the connective and muscular tissues of the uterus. Common among African-American women, patients suffering from them often arrive late to the hospital in our African regions. This study aimed to investigate the knowledge and perception of uterine fibroids among women who came to the gynecology-obstetrics department of the Regional hospital Center (CHR) Tsévié. Methodology: It was a cross-sectional descriptive study, with data collection conducted from May 7th to 20th, 2024, using systematic sampling. The study included all women present in the gynecology-obstetrics Department of CHR Tsévié during the study period who willingly and informedly consented to participate in the survey. Results: 362 women participated in the study. Among them, 36.8% had a secondary level, and 72.9% were Christians. About 97.5% had heard of uterine fibroids. In 63.5% of cases, their entourage was the principal source of information. The diagnostic methods mentioned by the women were ultrasound in 94.6% of cases, while prayers and occultism were also cited in 28% and 33.3% of cases, respectively. While 91.9% of the women considered the hospital, the place for treatment, some indicated that treatment would require plant-based approaches (46.8%) and prayers (26%). The cost of treatment was an obstacle for 85.4% of women, and 61.3% expressed fear of dying during surgery. There was a statistically significant relationship between treatment choice and religion. Conclusion: The majority of women had heard of uterine fibroids but had incorrect information about the treatment.

What Emerges from the Analysis of Maternal Deaths at the Gyneco-Obstetric and Paediatric hospital in Yaoundé?

Background: Maternal mortality remains a major public health problem worldwide. Objectives: Our study aims to present the results of an analysis of reviews of maternal deaths at HGOPY. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection from archived records and reviewed maternal death reports. Our study lasted 8 months, from October 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. The study covered maternal death files at the HGOPY over an 8-year period, from 1st of January 2016 to the 31st of December 2023. Data were processed and analyzed using Statitical Paquage for Social Science (SPSS) version 26.0. Results: We counted a total of 160 maternal deaths, of which 97 had been reviewed. We excluded 61 deceased women reviewed and retained 33. We recorded a cumulative total of 160 maternal deaths and 19,651 live births. The peak in the proportion of maternal deaths at the Yaoundé Gynaeco-Obstetric and Paediatric hospital was in 2021, with a proportion of 0.013. No maternal deaths had been reviewed between 2016 to 2017. Most deaths (64%) occurred between 37 and 40 weeks. The majority (30.5%) were aged between 30 and 35. The data show that 80.6% of maternal deaths were due to direct obstetric causes, while 19.4% were due to indirect causes. Most deaths (69.4%) were preventable. Only 8.3% were not preventable. Conclusion: Concerted efforts must be made to adapt maternal death prevention and management strategies to local contexts in order to significantly reduce these alarming figures.

Childbirth experience assessment tools based on COSMIN guidelines:A systematic review

Objective:This study aimed to systematically evaluate the measurement characteristics and methodological quality of childbirth experience assessment tools,with a view to informing the selection of healthcare professionals who can provide high-quality assessment ***:A systematic search was performed on specific databases:PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,CINAHL,SinoMed,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),and Wanfang,from inception to February 29,*** researchers retrieved studies on the measurement attributes of the childbirth experience assessment tool,and traced back the references of the included studies to supplement relevant *** to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,screening and data extraction were independently undertaken by two *** researchers individually used the Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Measurement Instruments(COSMIN)Risk of Bias Checklist to assess the methodological quality of the scale,applied the COSMIN criteria to evaluate the measurement properties of the scale,and used a modified Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)system to assess the certainty of ***:A total of 15 studies were included to evaluate the psychometric properties of 11 childbirth experience assessment tools(including different language versions).Eight studies’methodological quality of content validity was doubtful,and the remaining studies did not report content *** of the tools reported measurement error,cross-cultural validity,or *** light of the questionable or unreported content validity of the tools,the evidence quality was deemed moderate or ***,the 11 assessment tools were recommended as grade ***:In contrast,the Questionnaire for Assessing the Childbirth Experience(QACE)is recommended for provisional use,given its relatively good methodological and measurement attributes and appropriate content for evaluation

High-dose dexamethasone regulates microglial polarization via the GR/JAK1/STAT3 signaling pathway after traumatic brain injury
