Flexural behavior of textile reinforced mortar-autoclaved lightweight aerated concrete composite panels

To improve the deficiencies of prefabricated autoclaved lightweight aerated concrete(ALC)panel such as susceptibility to cracking and low load-bearing capacity,a textile-reinforced mortar-autoclaved lightweight aerated concrete(TRM-ALC)composite panel was developed in this *** group of reference ALC panels and five groups of TRM-ALC panels were fabricated and subjected to four-point flexural *** was applied on the tensile side of the ALC panels to create *** variable parameters were the plies of textile(one or two),type of textile(basalt or carbon),and whether the matrix(without textile)was applied on the compression side of *** results showed that a bonding only 8-mm-thick TRM layer on the surface of the ALC panel could increase the cracking load by 180%−520%.The flexural capacity of the TRM-ALC panel increased as the number of textile layers *** reinforcement of the matrix on the compressive side could further enhance the stiffness and ultimate loadbearing capacity of the TRM-ALC *** panels with basalt textile failed in flexural mode,with the rupture of fabric *** with carbon textile failed in shear mode due to the ultra-high tensile strength of *** addition,analytical models related to the different failure modes were presented to estimate the ultimate load-carrying capacity of the TRM-ALC panels.

In underground engineering with complex conditions,the bolt(cable)anchorage support system is in an environment where static and dynamic stresses coexist,under the action of geological conditions such as high stresses and strong disturbances and construction conditions such as the application of high *** is essential to study the support components performance under dynamic-static coupling *** on this,a multi-functional anchorage support dynamic-static coupling performance test system(MAC system)is developed,which can achieve 7 types of testing functions,including single component performance,anchored net performance,anchored rock performance and so *** bolt and cable mechanical tests are conducted by MAC system under different prestress *** results showed that compared to the non-prestress condition,the impact resistance performance of prestressed bolts(cables)is significantly *** the prestress range of 50–160 k N,the maximum reduction rate of impact energy resisted by different types of bolts is 53.9%–61.5%compared to non-prestress *** the prestress range of 150–300 k N,the impact energy resisted by high-strength cable is reduced by76.8%–84.6%compared to non-prestress *** MAC system achieves dynamic-static coupling performance test,which provide an effective means for the design of anchorage support system.

Drilling-based measuring method for the c-φ parameter of rock and its field application

The technology of drilling tests makes it possible to obtain the strength parameter of rock accurately in situ. In this paper, a new rock cutting analysis model that considers the influence of the rock crushing zone(RCZ) is built. The formula for an ultimate cutting force is established based on the limit equilibrium principle. The relationship between digital drilling parameters(DDP) and the c-φ parameter(DDP-cφ formula, where c refers to the cohesion and φ refers to the internal friction angle) is derived, and the response of drilling parameters and cutting ratio to the strength parameters is analyzed. The drillingbased measuring method for the c-φ parameter of rock is constructed. The laboratory verification test is then completed, and the difference in results between the drilling test and the compression test is less than 6%. On this basis, in-situ rock drilling tests in a traffic tunnel and a coal mine roadway are carried out, and the strength parameters of the surrounding rock are effectively tested. The average difference ratio of the results is less than 11%, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method for obtaining the strength parameters based on digital drilling. This study provides methodological support for field testing of rock strength parameters.

A tendon system to re-center steel moment frames with weak stories

A wide open bottom story of a frame building is often expected by owners for use as a garage or ***,this leads to weak stories due to abrupt changes in lateral stiffness and often results in unexpected story collapse as observed in many previous *** retrofit frame buildings that have experienced weak story damage,a tendon system is proposed in this study,which consists of a set of swaying columns and *** swaying columns are used to uniformly redistribute the lateral deformation along the height,while the tendons provide extra lateral stiffness and renders the entire structural system a re-centering *** avoid unnecessary forces to swaying columns,pin-connections are used at the *** are placed over the entire story to gain large elastic *** analysis reveals that the swaying column,with a stiffness of about 0.9 times that of the weak story,and the tendons attached at the roof,with a stiffness of 0.04 times that of the weak story,can provide the optimal performance with a maximum residual story drift angle of less than 0.5%.Online hybrid tests were carried out,which demonstrated that uniformly distributed story drifts and acceptable residual deformation could be achieved by the proposed tendon system.

To quantify the seismic effectiveness of the most commonly used fishing line tie up method for securing museum collections and optimize fixed strategies for exhibitions,shaking table tests of the seismic systems used for typical museum collection replicas have been carried *** influence of body shape and fixed measure parameters on the seismic responses of replicas and the interaction behavior between replicas and fixed measures have been *** on the results,seismic effectiveness evaluation indexes of the tie up method are *** suggestions for fixed strategies are given,which provide a basis for the exhibition of delicate museum collections considering the principle of minimizing seismic responses and *** analysis results show that a larger ratio of height of mass center to bottom diameter led to more intense rocking *** the initial pretension of fishing lines was conducive to reducing the seismic responses and stress variation of the *** comprehensive consideration of the interaction forces and effective securement,it is recommended to apply 20%of breaking stress as the initial *** specific museum collections that cannot be effectively protected by the independent tie up method,an optimized strategy of a combination of fishing lines and fasteners is recommended.

A pressure-sensitive rheological origin of high friction angles of granular matter observed in NASA–MGM project

An abnormally high peak friction angle of Ottawa sand was observed in(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) NASA–(Mechanics of Granular Materials) MGM tests in microgravity conditions on the space shuttle. Previous investigations have been unsuccessful in providing a constitutive insight into this behavior of granular materials under extremely low effective stress conditions. Here, a recently proposed unified constitutive model for transient rheological behavior of sand and other granular materials is adopted for the analytical assessment of high peak friction angles. For the first time, this long-eluded behavior of sand is attributed to a hidden rheological transition mechanism, that is not only rate-sensitive, but also pressure-sensitive. The NASA–MGM microgravity conditions show that shear-tests of sand can be performed under abnormally low confining stress conditions. The pressure-sensitive behavior of granular shearing that is previously ignored is studied based on the μ(I) rheology and its variations. Comparisons between the model and the NASA microgravity tests demonstrate a high degree of agreement. The research is highly valid for pressure-sensitive and rate-dependent problems that occur during earthquakes, landslides, and space exploration.

Creep property and microstructural evolution of DD11 alloy under high temperature and low stress

In this paper,the interrupted and ruptured creep tests were carried out in a novel second generation single crystal superalloy named DD11 at 1100℃/130 *** alloy exhibited typical creep curve including primary,steady,and tertiary three creep *** microstructural evolution at different stages of the creep were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results show that theγ′phases transform into rafted structure at the early stage of the steady creep and keep stable during the steady creep *** the creep goes on,the rafted structure further coarsens and the topological inversion *** addition,at the primary creep,the dislocations mainly move in theγmatrix and pile up in theγ/γ′interface since the matrix channels widen *** formation of the regular interfacial dislocation networks occurs at the early stage of the steady *** the low stress,the dominated deformation mechanism during steady creep stage is the climbing of the〈010〉type edge ***,the effect of the deformation mechanism on creep property was discussed in detail.

Processing of a low-costγ-γ'NiPtAl coating with improved oxidation resistance

A novelγ-γ'(Ni solid solution—Ni_(3)Al)NiPtAl coating was produced on advanced single-crystal(SC)superalloy N5 by electroplating of a thin Pt coating with~3μm in thickness followed by heat treatment at 1000℃in *** comparison,a traditionalγ-γ'NiPtAl coating was also produced by electroplating of a thick Pt coating with~6μm in thickness followed by heat treatment at 1100℃in *** novel coating has a mass gain of~0.5 mg·cm^(-2)after 100 h 1-h cyclic oxidation at 1150℃,showing better oxidation resistance than the traditional *** oxide scale mostly consisting ofα-Al_(2)O_(3)grew on the novel coating because the element Cr from the SC alloy substrate contributes to the formation ofα-Al_(2)O_(3).Pt content in the novel coating has significant effect on the oxidation *** optimized Pt content in the coating is about 16 at%,which is helpful to reduce the diffusion of harmful elements from the substrate into the coating but also to reduce the cost of the coating.

Seismicity changes and numerical simulation of coseismic deformation following the 2022 M_(s)6.8 Luding earthquake in Sichuan,China

The Xianshuihe fault is a major tectonic boundary between the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic and Bayanhar blocks in Southwest *** an average left-lateral strike-slip movement of 10–15 mm/yr,it is a fast-moving strike-slip continental *** September 5,2022,the Ms6.8 Luding earthquake occurred along the Moxi segment of the Xianshuihe fault,reaching a maximum intensity of IX and resulting in a significant number of casualties and severe property *** earthquake broke the long-standing seismic quiescence of the Xianshuihe fault,which lasted for more than 40 years,and was followed by a significant number of *** outstanding question is how the behavior of the Xianshuihe fault and major earthquakes changed following this *** this study,we examined the changes in regional seismicity following the Luding earthquake and identified the potential for future strong earthquakes along the Xianshuihe *** used a finite element numerical method to simulate the environment of the seismogenic fault and its adjacent *** addition,we used the coseismic slip model of the Luding earthquake with the split-node method to calculate how the stress and strain fields in the surrounding area were affected by the2022 *** stress changes were resolved in the main faults,and the seismicity of adjacent faults was analyzed in conjunction with the observed seismic *** results indicate that regional tectonic movement primarily occurred to the southeast along the Moxi *** stress field is approximately north-south in tension and east-west in *** in the stress field in the epicentral region of the Luding earthquake exceeded 1 *** maximum displacement of the coseismic deformation field was concentrated between Moxi town and Tuanjie village,and the Coulomb stress of the fault zone in this region experienced the largest ***,the b-value of the Gutenberg-Richter magnitude-frequency relationship at the epicenter a

Boosting oxygen vacancies by modulating the morphology of Au decorated In_(2)O_(3)with enhanced CO_(2)hydrogenation activity to CH_(3)OH

CO_(2)hydrogenation to methanol has become one of the most promising ways for CO_(2)utilization,however,the CO_(2)conversion rate and methanol selectivity of this reaction still need to be improved for industrial *** we investigated the structure-activity relationship for CO_(2)conversion to methanol of In_(2)O_(3)-based catalysts by modulating morphology and decorating *** different Au/In_(2)O_(3)catalysts were prepared,their activity follow the sequence of Au/In_(2)O_(3)-nanosphere(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS)>Au/In_(2)O_(3)-nanoplate(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NP)>Au/In_(2)O_(3)-hollow microsphere(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-HM).Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS exhibited the best performance with good CO_(2)conversion of 12.7%,high methanol selectivity of 59.8%,and large space time yield of 0.32 g CH_(3)OH/(hr·gcat)at 300℃.The high performance of Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS was considered as the presence of *** contributes to the creation of more surface oxygen vacancies,which further promoted the CO_(2)adsorption and facilitated CO_(2)activation to form the formate intermediates towards *** work clearly suggests that the activity of In_(2)O_(3)catalyst can be effective enhanced by structure engineering and Au decorating.
