In the present study, the safety of Hoemophilus influenza type b conjugate vaccines inoculated in the upper arm deltoid and vastus lateralis muscle was evaluated. 680 infants aged 2-5 months and 6-12 months were selected to be the research subjects in whom the Hib conjugate vaccines were inoculated by injection in the upper arm deltoid and vastus lateralis muscle, respectively. The safety analysis indicated that there were no statistic differences in the incidence rates of adverse reactions when the Hib conjugate vaccines were inoculated at different sites. So we concluded that the safety of inoculation injection of Hib conjugate vaccines in vastus lateralis muscle was the same as that inoculated in the upper arm deltoid.

Introduction:Human sapovirus(HuSaV)is an enteric virus responsible for sporadic cases and outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis(AGE)globally.A seven-year active surveillance study was conducted to investigate the molecular epidemiology of HuSaVs associated with AGE outbreaks in chaoyang district of beijing Municipality,China from January 2015 to December ***:Fecal and anal swab samples were obtained from patients experiencing AGE *** were identified through reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),and partial viral protein 1(VP1)sequences(approximately 434 base pairs)were utilized for genotyping,single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)analysis,and phylogenetic ***:HuSaVs were identified in 71 AGE outbreaks,demonstrating a detection rate of 10.5%,second only to *** primary demographic affected by HuSaV were children under the age of 5 in kindergarten *** rates tended to peak during two distinct periods:May to June and September to *** genotyping,seven distinct genotypes ***.3 was the most prevalent,accounting for 54.9%of cases,followed by GI.1(12.7%),GI.2(9.9%),GII.5(7.0%),GI.5(2.8%),GI.6(1.4%),GII.1(1.4%),and untyped cases(9.9%).A phylogenetic analysis of GII.3 identified three distinct groups,with 15 notable SNPs ***:This study offers a comprehensive analysis of the persistent prevalence of HuSaV outbreaks in chaoyang district,beijing Municipality,*** time,the diversity of HuSaV subtypes has shifted,and it is now recognized as the second leading viral agent responsible for AGE *** highlights the importance of ongoing surveillance in the future.

Objective To investigate molecular characterization of streptococcus pyogenes isolates involved in an outbreak of scarlet fever in China in 2011. Methods Seventy-four 5treptococcol pyogenes involved in an outbreak of scarlet fever were isolated from pediatric patients in the areas with high incidence in China from May to August of 2011. Emm genotyping, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis （PFGE）, superantigen （SAg） genes and antimicrobial susceptibility profiling were analyzed for these isolates. Results A total of 4 different emm types were identified. Emm12 was the most prevalent type which contained four predominating PFGE patterns corresponding to four different virulence and superantigen profiles. Emm12（79.7%） and emml （14.9%） accounted for approximately 94% of all the isolates. The speA gene was all negative in emm12 isolates and positive in emml isolates. All strains were resistant to erythromycin, and 89.4% of them were resistant to erythromycin, tracycline, and clindamycin simultaneously. Conclusion Several highly diversified clones with a high macrolide resistance rate comprise a predominant proportion of circulating strains, though no new emm type was found in this outbreak. The data provide a baseline for further surveillance of scarlet fever, which may contribute to the explanation of the outbreak and development of a GAS vaccine in China.

Rapid and High-throughput Identification of Recombinant Bacteria with Mass Spectrometry Assay

Objective To construct a rapid and high-throughput assay for identifying recombinant bacteria based on mass spectrometry. Methods Matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry （MALDI-TOF MS） techniques were used to identify 12 recombinant proteins （10 of Yersinia pestis, 1 of Campylobacter jejuni and 1 of Helicobacter pylori）. A classification model for the various phase of recombinant bacteria was established, optimized and validated, using MALDI-TOF MS-CIinProTools system. The differences in the peptide mass spectra were analyzed by using Biotyper and FIexAnalysis softwares. Results Models of GA, SNN, and QC were established. After optimizing the parameters, the GA recognition model showed good classification capabilities： RC=100%, mean CVA=98.7% （the CVA was 96.4% in phase 1, 100% in phase 2, 98.4% in phase 3, and 100% in phase 4, respectively） and PPV=95}. This model can be used to classify the bacteria and their recombinant, which only requires 3.7x103 cells for analysis. The total time needed is only 10 min from protein extraction to reporting the result for one sample. Furthermore, this assay can automatically detect and test 96 samples concurrently. A total of 48 specific peaks （9, 16, 9, and 14 for the four stages, respectively） was found in the various phase of recombinant bacteria. Conclusion MALDI-TOF MS can be used as a fast, accurate, and high-throughput method to identify recombinant bacteria, which provide a new ideas not only for recombinant bacteria but also for the identification of mutant strains and bioterrorism pathogens.

Association of Polymorphisms of STAT6 and SO_2 with Chinese Childhood Asthma: a Case-control Study

Objective To investigate the association of polymorphisms of STAT6 gene and air pollutants of PM10, NO2, and SO2, with asthma in Chinese children. Methods 418 subjects aged 14 years and under were recruited in a case-control study. The association between STAT6 polymorphisms and childhood asthma were tested by allele frequency, genotype analysis, and MDR analysis. Exposure to outdoor air pollutants was estimated by a 5-day moving average level. Statistical analyses were performed with SAS 9.1 software. Results Only 3 alleles of GT repeats at exon 1 of STAT6 were found in Chinese children. C258T and T710C were 2 new SNPs of STAT6 at 3＇-UTR. Children who carried T allele of C258T were more common in asthma children than in control subjects （P〈0.05）. The MDR analysis showed that GT repeats, C258T and T710C of STAT6 polymorphisms interacted together in leading to susceptibility to childhood asthma among Chinese people. After confounding factors were controlled, such as SNP C258T, family history of asthma, frequency of influenza within a year, the 5-day average of SO2 was tested to be a key risk factor of asthma in Chinese children （P〈0.05）. Conclusion Chinese children differed in polymorphisms of STAT6 and in its relation with childhood asthma.

In August 2021,three students with diarrhea from the same school visited a local hospital in the S district of *** epidemic investigation showed that there were more students with diarrhea in the same school and they had one meal *** jejuni was isolated from both patients with diarrhea and asymptomatic food handlers;however,the latter also carried Campylobacter *** analysis showed that there was a campylobacteriosis outbreak among the students,and the asymptomatic food handler may have been the source of the *** inspection and surveillance for Campylobacter is needed for the food producing staff,particularly those cooking in the cafeteria in schools or other public food services.
