Flexible Crystal Heterojunctions of Low-Dimensional Organic Metal Halides enabling Color-Tunable Space-Resolved Optical Waveguides

Molecular luminescent materials with optical waveguide have wide application prospects in light-emitting diodes, sensors, and logic gates. However, the majority of traditional optical waveguide systems are based on brittle molecular crystals, which limited the fabrication, transportation, storage, and adaptation of flexible devices under diverse application situations. To date, the design and synthesis of photofunctional materials with high flexibility, novel optical waveguide, and multi-port color-tunable emission in the same solid-state system remain an open challenge. Here, we have constructed new types of zero-dimensional organic metal halides (Au-4-dimethylaminopyridine [DMAP] and In-DMAP) with a rarely high elasticity and rather low loss coefficients for optical waveguide. Theoretical calculations on the intermolecular interactions showed that the high elasticity of 2 molecular crystalline materials was original from their herringbone structure and slip plane. Based on one-dimensional flexible microrods of 2 crystals and the 2-dimensional microplate of the Mn-DMAP, heterojunctions with multi-color and space-resolved optical waveguides have been fabricated. The formation mechanism of heterojunctions is based on the surface selective growth on account of the low lattice mismatch ratio between contacting crystal planes. Therefore, this work describes the first attempt to the design of metal-halide-based crystal heterojunctions with high flexibility and optical waveguide, expanding the prospects of traditional luminescent materials for smart optical devices, such as logic gates and multiplexers.

effects of baffle position in serpentine flow channel on the performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells

This study used a three-dimensional numerical model of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell with five types of channels:a smooth channel(Case 1);eight rectangular baffles were arranged in the upstream(Case 2),midstream(Case 3),downstream(Case 4),and the entire cathode flow channel(Case 5)to study the effects of baffle position on mass transport,power density,net power,***,the effects of back pressure and humidity on the voltage were *** showed that compared to smooth channels,the oxygen and water transport facilitation at the diffusion layer-channel interface were added 11.53%-20.60%and 7.81%-9.80%at 1.68 A·cm^(-2)by adding *** closer the baffles were to upstream,the higher the total oxygen flux,but the lower the flux uniformity the worse the water *** oxygen flux of upstream baffles was 8.14%higher than that of downstream baffles,but oxygen flux uniformity decreased by 18.96%at 1.68 A·cm^(-2).The order of water removal and voltage improvement was Case 4>Case 5>Case 3>Case 2>Case *** power of Case 4 was 9.87%higher than that of the smooth *** the Case 4,when the cell worked under low back pressure or high humidity,the voltage increments were *** potential increment for the back pressure of 0 atm was 0.9%higher than that of 2 atm(1 atm=101.325 kPa).The potential increment for the humidity of 100%was 7.89%higher than that of 50%.

Structural Optimization of the Inlet Header of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Printed Circuit Board Heat exchanger

Supercritical carbon dioxide printed circuit board heat exchangers are expected to be applied in third-generation solar thermal power ***,the uniformity of supercritical carbon dioxide entering the heat exchanger has a significant impact on the overall performance of the heat *** order to improve the uniformity of flow distribution in the inlet header,this article studies and optimizes the inlet header of a printed circuit board heat exchanger through numerical *** results indicate that when supercritical carbon dioxide flows through the header cavity,eddy currents will be generated,which will increase the uneven distribution of flow rate,while reducing the generation of eddy currents will improve the uniform distribution of flow *** the dimensionless factor of the inlet header is 6,the hyperbolic configuration is the optimal *** also reduced the eddy current region by adding transition segments,and the results showed that the structure was the best when the dilation angle was 10°,which reduced the non-uniformity by 21%compared to the hyperbolic configuration,providing guidance for engineering practice.

Numerical Study on Heat Transfer and Frictional Resistance of Two Types of Molten Salts in Straight Channels and Supercritical Carbon Dioxide in Airfoil Channels

Molten salt and supercritical carbon dioxide(sCO_(2))are considered to be one of the most promising combined heat transfer refrigerants for third-generation solar thermal power *** evaluate the potential of chloride salts and carbonates in third-generation solar thermal power generation,this paper uses molten salts and sCO_(2)as the working media of printed circuit board heat exchangers(PCHe),and uses numerical simulation to study the heat transfer and friction of PCHe channels with different molten salts and sCO_(2),and establishes predictive correlations respectively.A local heat transfer and friction study was conducted on the sCO_(2)side of the airfoil channel,and it was found that the inlet mass flow rate has a significant impact on it,while the inlet temperature has a relatively small impact.A comprehensive comparison was made between the heat transfer and friction of two molten salts,and the comprehensive performance of chloride salts was 70%-80%higher than that of *** results indicate that the potential of chloride salts in third-generation solar thermal power generation is much greater than that of carbonates.

Pd Pt VO_(x)/CeO_(2)-ZrO_(2):Highly efficient catalysts with good sulfur dioxide-poisoning reversibility for the oxidative removal of ethylbenzene

The PdPtVO_(x)/CeO_(2)-ZrO_(2)(PdPtVO_(x)/CZO)catalysts were obtained by using different approaches,and their physical and chemical properties were determined by various *** activities of these materials in the presence of H_(2)O or SO_(2)were evaluated for the oxidation of ethylbenzene(eB).The PdPtVO_(x)/CZO sample exhibited high catalytic activity,good hydrothermal stability,and reversible sulfur dioxide-poisoning performance,over which the specific reaction rate at 160℃,turnover frequency at 160℃(TOF_(Pd or Pt)),and apparent activation energy were 72.6 mmol/(g_(Pt)·sec)or 124.2 mmol/(g_(Pd)·sec),14.2 sec^(-1)(TOF_(Pt))or 13.1 sec^(-1)(TOF_(Pd)),and 58 k J/mol,*** large eB adsorption capacity,good reducibility,and strong acidity contributed to the good catalytic performance of PdPtVO_(x)/*** activity of PdPtVO_(x)/CZO decreased when 50 ppm SO_(2)or(1.0 vol.%H_(2)O+50 ppm SO_(2))was added to the feedstock,but was gradually restored to its initial level after the SO_(2)was cut *** good reversible sulfur dioxide-resistant performance of PdPtVO_(x)/CZO was associated with the facts:(i)the introduction of SO_(2)leads to an increase in surface acidity;(ii)V can adsorb and activate SO_(2),thus accelerating formation of the SO_(x)^(2-)(x=3 or 4)species at the V and CZO sites,weakening the adsorption of sulfur species at the PdPt active sites,and hence protecting the PdPt active sites to be not poisoned by SO_(2).eB oxidation over PdPtVO_(x)/CZO might take place via the route of eB→styrene→phenyl methyl ketone→benzaldehyde→benzoic acid→maleic anhydride→CO_(2)and H_(2)O.

Bimetallic CoNi single atoms supported on three-dimensionally ordered mesoporous chromia:highly active catalysts for n-hexane combustion

Developing the alternative supported noble metal catalysts with low cost,high catalytic efficiency,and good resistance toward carbon dioxide and water vapor is critically demanded for the oxidative removal of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).In this work,we prepared the mesoporous chromia-supported bimetallic Co and Ni single-atom(Co_(1)Ni_(1)/meso-Cr_(2)O_(3))and bimetallic Co and Ni nanoparticle(Co_(NP)Ni_(NP)/mesoCr_(2)O_(3))catalysts adopting the one-pot polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)-and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)-protecting approaches,*** results indicate that the Co_(1)Ni_(1)/meso-Cr_(2)O_(3)catalyst exhibited the best catalytic activity for n-hexane(C_(6)H_(14))combustion(T_(50%)and T_(90%)were 239 and 263℃ at a space velocity of 40,000 mL g^(-1)h^(-1);apparent activation energy and specific reaction rate at 260℃ were 54.7 kJ mol^(-1)and 4.3×10^(-7)mol g^(-1)_(cat)s^(-1),respectively),which was associated with its higher(Cr^(5+)+Cr^(6+))amount,large n-hexane adsorption capacity,and good lattice oxygen mobility that could enhance the deep oxidation of n-hexane,in which Ni_(1) was beneficial for the enhancements in surface lattice oxygen mobility and low-temperature reducibility,while Co_(1) preferred to generate higher contents of the high-valence states of chromium and surface oxygen species as well as adsorption and activation of n-hexane.n-Hexane combustion takes place via the Mars van Krevelen(MvK)mechanism,and its reaction pathways are as follows:n-hexane→olefins or 3-hexyl hydroperoxide→3-hexanone,2-hexanone or 2,5-dimethyltetrahydrofuran→2-methyloxirane or 2-ethyl-oxetane→acrylic acid→CO_x→CO_(2)and H_(2)O.

Hole cleaning evaluation and installation spacing optimization of cuttings bed remover in extended-reach drilling

In extended-reach or long-horizontal drilling,cuttings usually deposit at the bottom of the *** cuttings accumulate to a certain thickness,complex problems such as excessive torque and drag,tubing buckling,and pipe stuck probably occur,which results in a lot of non-productive time and remedial *** bed remover can efficiently destroy deposited cuttings in time through hydraulic and mechanical stirring *** paper aims to build a method for hole cleaning evaluation and installation spacing optimization of cuttings bed remover to improve the wellbore cleaning ***,a Computational Fluid Dynamics approach with eulerian—eulerian multiphase model was utilized to investigate the mechanism of cuttings transportation,and a new type of cuttings bed remover was ***,an evaluation method of hole cleaning effect of remover was *** that,the effects of several drilling parameters on hole cleaning including flow rate of drilling fluid,rotational speed of drillpipe,rate of penetration,wellbore size,rheological property of drilling fluid,and remover eccentricity on the performance of cuttings bed remover were *** results demonstrate that the new type of remover with streamline blade performs better than conventional *** efficiency of hole cleaning is greatly improved by increasing the rotational speed of drillpipe,flow rate of drilling fluid,remover eccentricity,and 6 rpm Fann dial reading for drilling *** higher rate of penetration and large wellbore size result in worse hole *** findings can serve as an important guide for the structure optimization design of cuttings bed remover and installation spacing of removers.

Millimeter wave with large bandwidth,high transmission rate,and low delay is considered a reliable alternative to cope with the spectrum ***,the fast attenuation and narrow beam characteristics make it difficult to achieve long-distance or wide-range ***,a 1-bit dual-band reflective reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)for signal enhancement in millimeter wave with 16×16 elements is designed,fabricated,and *** from most existent RIS,dynamic programming is realized at two separate frequency bands by integrating the PIN diodes and field-programmable gate array(FPGA).Particularly,the beam deflection,dual-beam,and multi-beam are created based on the coding theory and convolution operation,proving the effectiveness of wavefront ***,the far-field patterns and signal power with different coding sequences are measured and *** is indicated that the received signal power is 6–7 dB stronger than that without coding,which shows good agreement with the desired *** proposed reconfigurable metasurface exhibits great potential in beam forming,making it a promising candidate for progressive wireless communication applications.
