Taking the"One Million-Mu(666 km^2)"Plain Afforestation(PhaseⅠ)Project(Phase I afforestation)in beijing city as an example,we monitored the growth status of planted forest using long-term remote sensing images,and evaluated the impacts of afforestation on land use change and vegetation *** found there is a large space for improvement regarding the ecological benefits of the ***,we found forest patches with decreasing greenness after the afforestation were mainly converted from farmland with high greenness and low heterogeneity in terms of the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI).This implies that those farmland patches are inappropriate for *** to the results from PhaseⅠafforestation and the impact of urbanization on green space,we constructed a series of spatial variables and generated a suitability map for the next"New Round of One Million-Mu(666 km^2)Afforestation project"(PhaseⅡafforestation).We then modeled the spatial distribution of PhaseⅡafforestation based on the derived suitability *** study is crucial for the scientific evaluation of afforestation projects for space planning(e.g.,urban green space planning).The evaluation and modeling framework built in this study can be used to support the decision making and policy implementation of afforestation projects in China.

The wind-induced dynamic response of long-span light-weight steel arch structure of the global transportation center (GTC) of beijing Capital International Airport was studied. A composite technique with combination of WAWS(Weighted Amplitude Wavelet Superposition) and FFT(Fast Fourier Transformation) was introduced to simulate wind velocity time series of hundreds of spatial points simultaneously. The structural shape factors of wind load was obtained from wind tunnel model test. The wind vibration factor based on structural displacement response was investigated. After comparing the computational results with wind tunnel model test data, it was found out that the two results accord with each other if wind comes from 0° direction angle, but are quite different if wind comes from 180° direction angle in the area blocked off by airport terminals. The possible reasons of this difference were analyzed. Haar wavelet was used to transform and analyze wind velocity time series and structural wind-induced dynamic responses. The relationship between exciting wind loads and structural responses was studied in time and frequency domains.

Background： It is known that short sleep duration adversely affects children＇s behavior and physical development. This study aimed to investigate the status of sleep duration in 3-14-year-old children in beijing and explore the related factors of sleep loss with them. Methods： In this study, a cross-sectional study of random stratified cluster sampling was conducted on 3-14-year-old children and adolescents in beijing. According to the proportion of children in each district and school, the final cohort included a total of 11 kindergartens, 7 primary schools, and 8 junior high schools from 7 districts of beijing. Children of sampled classes were included, and their parents were invited to fill a series of questionnaires including the simplified Chinese version of Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire, Sleep Questionnaire Scale, and Hong Kong-Children Sleep Questionnaire about the performance of the last 6 months. Results： Out of the total 11,420 questionnaires, 9198 questionnaires were valid and effective with the response rate of 80.54%. The age of the investigated children was 8.8 ± 3.8 years, including 4736 males and 4462 females. The daily sleep duration of children in beijing was 9.7 ± 0.7 h. The prevalence of sleep loss （〈9 h/day） of children in beijing was 11.8%. The daily sleep duration of children aged 〈6, 6 ≤ age 〈11, and ≥11 years was 9.7 ± 0.6 h, 9.6 ± 0.6 h, and 9.5 ± 0.8 h, respectively. The sleep duration reduced significantly in children aged ≥11 years as compared to younger children in beijing which was mainly contributed by the variation tendency of sleep duration on weekdays. The multivariate logistic regression analysis identified factors associated with sleep loss （P 〈 0.05）： male （odds ratio [OR] = 1.32, 95% confidence interval [CI ]： 1.15-1.51 ）, age ≥11 years （OR = 2.37, 95% CI： 1.92-2.93）, overweight （OR = 1.34, 95% CI： 1.17-1.54）, family history of snoring （OR - 1.35, 95% CI： 1.13-1.61 ） and activities before bedtime with watching TV （OR = 1.24, 95

Our aim is to examine the impact of DICER1 mutations on the pathogenesis of pleuropulmonary blastoma(PPB) by evaluating the mutation frequency and investigating the family history of Chinese patients with PPB. The family histories of 12 children with PPB recruited consecutively were surveyed. Blood samples from patients and their first-degree relatives were tested for DICER1 mutations. Whole-genome sequencing of blood samples and formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded(FFPE) tumor tissue was performed in one family with twins. Twelve patients with PPB included six type II and six type III cases. Seven of the12 patients harbored DICER1 mutations, six of which were frameshift or nonsense mutations. Another case carried a germline DICER1 mutation affecting the splice site. FFPE sample had a nonsense mutation in TDG and missense mutations in *** addition, two cases with DICER1 mutations were found to have lung cysts preceding the diagnosis of PPB. Furthermore, one patient had a family history remarkable for thyroid diseases. Our results indicate that the germline mutation frequency in Chinese patients with PPB is similar to the ones reported for patients from USA, UK, and Japan. Moreover, our study strongly suggests that investigating the family history and detecting germline DICER1 mutations might be of benefit to increasing awareness and improving the accuracy of the differential diagnosis of PPB from non-malignant lung cysts.

AIM: TO summarize the operative experience of the transanal approach in acquired rectovestibular fistula ***: Ninety-six cases of acquired rectovestibularf istula in young females were analyzed retrospectively. The etiology and operative procedure were discussed. Operative essential points were, the patient was laid in prone frog position, with the knees and hips flexed at 90~; the perineum was elevated; and the anal opening was exposed. Four stay sutures were applied to the margin of the fistular orifice in the anal opening at points 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock.A circular incision of mucosa surrounding the stay sutures was made. The fistula was dissected from its anal opening to its vestibular opening. The wound of vestibule was sutured,and the rectoanal wound was then sutured ***: All the 96 patients recovered uneventfully from operation with a successful rate of 93.75%.CONCLUSION: The transanal approach in the treatment of the acquired rectovestibular fistula is a simple and feasible technique.

Molecular epidemiology of serotype 19A Streptococcus pneumoniae isolated from children in beijing, 1997-2006

Background Despite the prevalence of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 19A, the molecular characteristics of this serotype are yet to be fully elucidated. The aim of this study was therefore to determine the homology of the serotype 19A in China. Methods Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and multilocus sequence typing were done to these forty-nine serotype 19A isolates to investigate the relationship between the strains prevalent in beijing and other regions. Results From 1997 to 2006, the percentage of serotype 19A isolates increased. The susceptibility rate to penicillin and amoxicillin decreased and the resistance rate to cefuroxime increased. ST320 was the most prevalent ST, followed by ST3546. There were six new STs identified in our study. The serotype 19A strains were classified into six different pulsed-field gel electrophoresis （PFGE） patterns. ST320, which was associated with two different PFGE patterns （A and D）, accounted for 32 isolates, and ST3546, which was associated with two PFGE patterns （B and E）, accounted for eight isolates. Conclusions From 2003 onwards, ST320 was the most common ST and the rate of resistance to cefuroxime increased significantly. Further long-term surveys of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 19A are required to monitor ST prevalence and antimicrobial resistance, in this important human pathogen.
