An elevated preoperative serum calcium level is a significant predictor for positive peritoneal cytology in endometrial carcinoma

Objective:To evaluate preoperative serum calcium concentration and investigate the association between calcium level and positive peritoneal cytology in endometrial carcinoma(EC).Methods:A total of 510 patients who were diagnosed with EC and had surgery were initially enrolled in this study at Peking University People's Hospital between January 2012 and December *** characteristics and preoperative serum calcium,albumin,carbohydrate antigen(CA)125,CA19-9,carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)were extracted from patient records and evaluated according to postoperative peritoneal *** factors were assessed with Cox univariate and multivariate *** selected from multivariate analysis results were used to build a predictive ***:A total of 510 patients are identified in our database and 444 patients who fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria are included in this *** analysis revealed that ionized calcium concentration was closely related to positive peritoneal cytology,tumor grade and lymph-vascular space invasion(LVSI).Moreover,peritoneal cytology was significantly associated with hypertension,tubal ligation,serum CA125,CA19-9,CEA and ionized calcium *** analysis revealed that albumin-adjusted calcium level,CA125 and tubal ligation were independent predictive factors of positive peritoneal cytology(P<0.05).A combination of ionized calcium level with the other two indexes yielded significantly great area under the curve(AUC=0.824).Conclusions:This study enhanced the value of preoperative ionized calcium *** also identified several potential biomarkers to predict positive peritoneal cytology in EC patients before surgery.

Effect of Optimized Concentrations of Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor and Epidermal Growth Factor on Proliferation of Fibroblasts and Expression of Collagen： Related to pelvic floor Tissue Regeneration

Background： Fibroblasts were the main seed cells in the studies of tissue engineering of the pelvic floor ligament. Basic fibroblast growth factor （bFGF） and epidermal growth factor （EGF） were widely studied but at various concentrations. This study aimed to optimize the concentrations of combined bFGF and EGF by evaluating their effects on proliferation and collagen secretion of fibroblasts. Methods： Fibroblasts were differentiated from rat adipose mesenchymal stem cells （ADSCs）. Flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry were used for cell identification. The growth factors were applied at concentrations of 0, 1, 10, and 100 ng/ml as three groups：（1） bFGF alone, （2） EGF alone, and （3） bFGF mixed with EGF. Cell proliferation was evaluated by Cell Counting Kit-8 assays. Expression of Type I and III collagen （Col-I and Col-1II） mRNAs was evaluated by real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS software and GraphPad Prism using one-way analysis of variance and multiple t-test. Results： ADSCs were successfully isolated from rat adipose tissue as identified by expression of typical surface markers CD29, CD44, CD90, and CD45 in flow cytometry. Fibroblasts induced from ADSC, compared with ADSCs, were with higher mRNA expression levels of Col I and Col III （F = 1.29, P = 0.0390）. bFGF, EGF, and the mixture ofbFGF with EGF can enhanced fibroblasts proliferation, and the concentration of 10 ng/ml of the mixture ofbFGF with EGF displayed most effectively （all P 〈 0.05）. The expression levels of Col-I and Col-Ill mRNAs in fibroblasts displayed significant increases in the 10 ng/ml bFGF combined with EGF group （all P 〈 0.05）. Conclusions： The optimal concentration of both bFGF and EGF to promote cell proliferation and collagen expression in fibroblasts was 10 ng/ml at which fibroblasts grew faster and secreted more Type I and III collagens into the extracellular matrix, which might contribute to the stabilit

Objective:To compare the degree of agreement and consistency of urodynamic studies(UDS)with low urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)questionnaires for evaluating LUTS in cervical cancer patients following radical hysterectomy(RH)and pelvic ***:From January 2012 to March 2015,204 cervical cancer patients who underwent RH in 13 hospitals were evaluated using the Incontinence Questionnaire-female Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms(ICIQ-FLUTS)and the Overactive Bladder Symptom Score(OABSS).Urodynamic tests were also performed on these patients during the same ***:Study participants’age ranged from 23 to 75 years,with a mean(standard deviation)of 48.0±9.3 *** questionnaires,the prevalence of patients with LUTS symptoms,including storage symptoms,voiding symptoms,stress urinary incontinence(SUI)and overactive bladder(OAB)was 86.3%,77.0%,62.7%,52.9%and 14.7%,*** UDS,the corresponding prevalence was 89.7%,70.1%,66.7%,46.6%and 13.2%,*** diagnostic concordance of questionnaires and UDS for storage symptoms,voiding symptoms,SUI and OAB was 79.9%,66.7%,66.7%,57.4%and 79.9%,*** voiding symptoms,the correlation coefficient was 0.272,which was higher than that of storage symptoms,SUI and OAB.

Background:After radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer,the most common complication is lower urinary tract ***-operatively,bladder capacity can alter bladder function for a prolonged *** study aimed to identify factors affecting bladder storage ***:A multicenter,retrospective cohort study was *** of patients with stages IA2 to IIB cervical cancer with urodynamic study results were retrospectively collected from nine hospitals between June 2013 and June 2018 according to the inclusion ***,surgical,and oncological data were *** univariate and multivariate logistic regression was used to identify clinical factors associated with bladder storage ***:Two hundred and three patients with cervical cancer had urodynamic testing ***-five(46.8%)patients were diagnosed with stress urinary incontinence(SUI).The incidence of low bladder compliance(LBC)was 23.2%.Twenty-seven(13.3%)patients showed detrusor overactivity(DO).Fifty-seven patients(28.1%)presented with a decreased maximum cystometric capacity(DMCC).The probability of composite bladder storage dysfunction was 68.0%.Multivariate analysis confirmed that laparoscopy represents a protective factor for SUI with an odds ratio of 0.498(P=0.034).Patients who underwent a nerve-sparing procedure were less odds to experience SUI(P=0.014).A significant positive correlation between LBC and DO was observed(P<0.001).A greater length of the resected vagina and chemoradiotherapy were common risk factors for LBC and DO,while radiotherapy exerted a stronger effect than ***,patients who received chemoradiotherapy frequently developed a *** follow-up time was not correlated with bladder storage ***:A nerve-sparing procedure without longer resected vagina is recommended for protecting the bladder storage function.

Urinary incontinence(UI)is a disease that quietly yet seriously impacts women's health and represents a global health burden that is often *** study aims to systematically assess the prevalence and dynamics of female UI in China,and can inform further policies and have international *** study used three nationwide investigations:A national cross-sectional survey in 2021;another nationwide cross-sectional survey in 2006;and data regarding the institutions and physicians providing pelvic floor rehabilitation services from 2005 to *** weighted prevalence of female UI and its subtypes,including stress UI(SUI),urgency UI(UUI),and mixed UI(MUI),were estimated as primary ***,attitude and care-seeking behaviors of UI were *** was found that the weighted prevalence of female UI was 16.0%(95%CI,13.3%–19.1%)with SUI remaining the predominant subtype(7.0%)in 2021,followed by MUI(6.5%)and UUI(1.9%).The estimated absolute number of Chinese adult women with UI was 85.8 million in 2021.52.7%(95%CI,45.9%–59.4%)of women were aware that UI was a medical condition,and only 10.1%of women with UI sought health *** 15 years of development,there were 8400 pelvic floor rehabilitation institutions and nearly 10,000 relevant physicians in ChinaDthey were found to be associated with UI *** UI prevalence in China was significantly lower in 2021 compared to that in *** the achievement,UI remains a public health problem,especially given China's fast aging and three-child *** innovations,especially those that can facilitate care seeking,are needed to address this prevalent yet treatable condition.
