Satellite remote sensing reveals overwhelming recovery of forest from disturbances in Asia

Forest ecosystems play key roles in mitigating human-induced climate change through enhanced carbon uptake;however,frequently occurring climate extremes and human activities have considerably threatened the stability of *** the same time,detailed accounts of disturbances and forest responses are not yet well quantified in *** study employed the Breaks For Additive Seasonal and Trend method-an abrupt-change detection method-to analyze the Enhanced Vegetation Index time series in East Asia,South Asia,and Southeast *** approach allowed us to detect forest disturbance and quantify the resilience after *** showed that 20%of forests experienced disturbance with an increasing trend from 2000 to 2022,and Southeast Asian countries were more severely affected by ***,95%of forests had robust resilience and could recover from disturbance within a few *** resilience of forests suffering from greater magnitude of disturbance tended to be stronger than forests with lower disturbance *** summary,this study investigated the resilience of forests across the low and middle latitudes of Asia over the past two *** authors found that most forests exhibited good resilience after disturbance and about two-thirds had recovered to a better state in *** findings of this study underscore the complex relationship between disturbance and resilience,contributing to comprehension of forest resilience through satellite remote sensing.

The effects of sediment aluminum(Al),organic carbon(OC),and dissolved oxygen(DO)on phosphorus(P)transformation,at the water-sediment interface of a eutrophic constructed lake,were investigated via a series of simulative *** above three factors had various influences on dissolved P concentration,water pH,water and surface sediment appearance,and P *** of Al had the greatest effect on suppressing P release,and the water p H remained alkaline in the water-sediment system under various OC and DO *** dissolution of the added Al was detected.31P-N M R characterization suggested that OC addition did not promote biological P uptake to polyphosphates under oxic *** simulation result on the added phytate indicated the absence of phytate in the original lake *** compared to the reported natural lakes and wetland,the water-sediment system of the constructed lake responded differently to some simulative *** Al,OC,and DO can be controlled with engineering methods,the results of this study provide insights for the practical site restorations.

Comparison of exogenous degrader-enhanced bioremediation with low-dose persulfate oxidation for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon removal in alkaline soil:efficiency and influence on ecological health

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH)-contaminated soils are usually complex and characterized by a lack of nutrition and soil salinization,resulting in difficulties in soil *** this study,bioaugmentation with a PAH-degrading Bacillus PheN7(BA)and low-dose persulfate oxidation(PS),along with natural biodegradation,were utilized to remediate alkaline PAH-contaminated *** soil used in the study had a pH of 9.35,and the total PAH content was 568.8±31.0 mg/kg dry *** 42 d of remediation,the degradation efficiency of PAHs was 96.72%and 93.88%using persulfate oxidation and bioaugmentation,respectively,whereas 38.66%of PAHs were degraded in natural attenuation(NA).Bacillus was the dominant genera throughout the process of bioremediation with the relative abundance of 79.3%on day 42 in the BA system,whereas,Alcanivorax was enriched and became the dominant genera in PS *** the meantime,PAH degradation genes were detected with remarkably higher level in the BA system than in PS system during the *** addition to the degradation of contaminants,persulfate oxidation promotes microbial bioremediation efficiency mainly by lowering the pH to neutral and increasing the active phosphorus content in the *** species and ecological niches were less reduced in the PS system than in the BA ***,persulfate oxidation had a better impact on the soil microbiome and is more suitable for long-term soil health than bioaugmentation through PheN7 addition.

Noise-induced hearing loss is the primary non-genetic factor contributing to auditory ***,there are currently no effective pharmacological interventions for patients with noise-induced hearing ***,we present evidence suggesting that the lysine-specific demethylase 1 inhibitor–tranylcypromine is an otoprotective agent that could be used to treat noise-induced hearing loss,and elucidate its underlying regulatory *** established a mouse model of permanent threshold shift hearing loss by exposing the mice to white broadband noise at a sound pressure level of 120 d B for 4 *** found that tranylcypromine treatment led to the upregulation of Sestrin2(SESN2)and activation of the autophagy markers light chain 3B and lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 1 in the cochleae of mice treated with *** noise exposure group treated with tranylcypromine showed significantly lower average auditory brainstem response hearing thresholds at click,4,8,and 16 k Hz frequencies compared with the noise exposure group treated with *** findings indicate that tranylcypromine treatment resulted in increased SESN2,light chain 3B,and lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 1 expression after noise exposure,leading to a reduction in levels of 4-hydroxynonenal and cleaved caspase-3,thereby reducing noise-induced hair cell ***,immunoblot analysis demonstrated that treatment with tranylcypromine upregulated SESN2 expression via the autophagy *** treatment also reduced the production of NOD-like receptor family pyrin domaincontaining 3(NLRP3)*** conclusion,our results showed that tranylcypromine treatment ameliorated cochlear inflammation by promoting the expression of SESN2,which induced autophagy,thereby restricting NLRP3-related inflammasome signaling,alleviating cochlear hair cell loss,and protecting hearing *** findings suggest that inhibiting lysine-specific demethylase 1 is a

Effect of Chinese Traditional Healthcare Exercises on 136 Junior school Students

Objective： To observe the physiological and psychological effects of Chinese traditional healthcare exercises （CTHE） on the adolescents. Methods： A total of 136 healthy students of junior school were recruited and randomly divided into the test group （68 cases） and the control group （68 cases）. The subjects in the test group practiced CTHE, while those in the control group did ＂the 8th radio calisthenics＂, an official recommended calisthenics for promoting healthcare in China, 3 times a week, and 7 weeks practicing overall. The general body function examination and the meridian energy detection system were used to determine the effects of the two groups. Results：（1） After exercise, the chest circumference and heart rate were increased significantly （P〈0.01）, and both the systolic pressure （SP） and diastolic pressure （DP） were decreased significantly （P〈0.01）, while the weight had no significant change （P〉0.05） in the test group. In the control group, the chest circumference, the SP and DP had no significant improvement （P〉0.05）, while the heart rate was significantly increased and the weight was significantly decreased （P〈0.01）. （2） The test group achieved significant positive changes in the performance status, state of mind and fatigue index （P〈0.01 or P〈0.05）, while the control group only achieved a significant positive change in performance status （P〈0.01）, and a negative significant decrease in the autonomic nerve function （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： Junior school students would get physiological and psychological benefit from practicing CTHE, and which is suitable for them to practice.

Study about Evaluation System of Take-out Platform

In order to get a deeper understanding of the real situation of the evaluation system, the situation that each group may encounter in their link was speculated for two different groups of customers and delivery workers, and the questions were designed, then a total of 65 delivery workers and 100 customers were surveyed. The age of the questionnaire survey group is above 10 years old and under 40 years old, which is the group that orders take-out most in peacetime. As far as customers are concerned, following questions are put forward to investigate the customer's opinions on the evaluation criteria of take-out quality and the delivery quality of delivery workers: the first is to understand customer's perception of being late for negative comments or the time;the second is to understand the attitude of customers towards the distribution of delivery workers;the third is to find out the reasons why customers gave delivery workers negative comments before;the fourth is to compare the salary of delivery workers estimated by the customers with their actual salaries, so as to make customers understand the hardship and difficulty of the take-out employees and solve the existing problems;and the fifth is to understand the proportion of additional tasks that customers ask, thus considering whether to add this column to the evaluation system, and improving it. For delivery workers, several questions are proposed to be able to truly and accurately understand some of the problems they encounter at work, as well as the reasons and solutions: the first is to know whether the customer's negative comments can be dealt with and deduce their impact on delivery workers, because the company's attitude toward delivery workers is also an important factor in determining the quality of their work;the second is to know whether the company provides benefits to delivery workers and the quality of the benefits;the third is to ask about the income of delivery workers, and compare it with the rev

A new method of discovering new meteor showers from the IMO single-station video meteor database

It has been found that unknown meteor showers could be efficiently discovered from the single station video meteor database of the International Meteor Organization(IMO) by assuming the geocentric velocity and adjusting it within the dynamically permitted range. The mean geocentric velocities of new meteor showers can be obtained,as well as the coordinates of the radiants. The activity period and maximum time can also be obtained if there are sufficient shower meteors. All single station video meteor observations between February 13 and 17(from 2000 to 2005) in IMO's database are processed with this method. As a result,two new meteor showers,one near RA=245.10°,Dec=41.82° in Hercules and the other near RA=233.03°,Dec=17.04° in Serpenids,are discovered. Some dynamical characteristics of the new meteor showers are also determined. Considering the random nature on the selection of period in this work,it is expected that there are some more potential new meteor showers in IMO's video database.

Existences and stabilities of bright and dark breathers in a general one-dimensional discrete monatomic Chain

A general one-dimensional discrete monatomic model is investigated by using the multiple-method. It is proven that the discrete bright breathers （DBBs） and discrete dark breathers （DDBs） exist in this model at the anti-continuous limit, and then the concrete models of the DBBs and DDBs are also presented by the multiple-scale approach （MSA） and the quasi-discreteness approach （QDA）. When the results are applied to some particular models, the same conclusions as those presented in corresponding references are achieved. In addition, we use the method of the linearization analysis to investigate this system without the high order terms of ε. It is found that the DBBs and DDBs are linearly stable only when coupling parameter χ is small, of which the limited value is obtained by using an analytical method.
