Carboxymethyl glycoside lactones(CMGLs) are bicyclic synthons which open readily for accessing new types of pseudo-glycoconjugates,such as sugar-amino acid hybrids,neoglycolipids,pseudodisaccharides,and membrane imaging *** lactone opening,free OH-2 is available for further functionalization,leading to 1,2-bisfunctionalized *** strategy is illustrated herein with new polymerizable systems of the AB type bearing both azide and alkyne functions prepared from α or β gluco-CMGL *** the reaction of lactones with propargylamine,an azido group was introduced by two different sequences leading to either the 2-manno-azido or the 6-gluco-azido *** capability of these AB monomers to undergo step growth polymerization through copper(I) catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition(CuAAC) and generate glycopolytriazoles was evidenced.

Molecular frame photoemission is a very sensitive probe of the photoionization （PI） dynamics of molecules. This paper reports a comparative study of non-resonant and resonant photoionization of D2 induced by VUV circularly polarized synchrotron radiation at SOLEIL at the level of the molecular frame photoelectron angular distributions （MFPADs）. We use the vector correlation method which combines imaging and time-of-flight resolved electron-ion coincidence techniques, and a generalized formalism for the expression of the Ⅰ（χ, θe, Фe） MFPADs, where χ is the orientation of the molecular axis with respect to the light quantization axis and （θe, Фe） the electron emission direction in the molecular frame. Selected MFPADs for a molecule aligned parallel or perpendicular to linearly polarized light, or perpendicular to the propagation axis of circularly polarized light, are presented for dissociative photoionization （DPI） of D2 at two photon excitation energies, hv=19 eV, where direct PI is the only channel opened, and hv=32.5 eV, i.e. in the region involving resonant excitation of Q1 and Q2 doubly excited state series. We discuss in particular the properties of the circular dichroism characterizing photoemission in the molecular frame for direct and resonant PI. In the latter case, a remarkable behavior is observed which may be attributed to the interference occurring between undistinguishable autoionization decay channels.

The homogeneous plastic flow of fully amorphous and partially crystallized Zr(41.2)Ti(13.8)Cu(12.5)Ni(10)Be(22.5) bulk metallic glass (Vitl) has been investigated by compression tests at high temperatures in supercooled liquid region. Experimental results show that at sufficiently low strain rates, the supercooled liquid of the fully amorphous alloy reveals Newtonian flow with a linear relationship between the flow stress and strain rate. As the strain rate is increased, a transition from linear Newtonian to nonlinear flow is detected, which can be explained by the transition state theory. Over the entire strain rate interval investigated, however, only nonlinear flow is present in the partially crystallized alloy, and the flow stress for each strain rate is much higher. It is found that the strain rate-stress relationship for the partially crystaltized alloy at the given temperature of 646 K also obeys the sinh law derived from the transition state theory, similar to that of the initial homogeneous amorphous alloy. Thus, it is proposed that the flow behavior of the nanocrystalline/amorphous composite at 646 K is mainly controlled by the viscous flow of the remaining supercooled liquid.

This paper reports the experimental investigation of flow pattern, preferential regions of deposition and trap efficiency as a function of the length of rectangular shallow reservoirs. Four flow patterns were identified (from longer to shorter reservoirs): an asymmetric flow with two reattachment points, an asymmetric flow with one reattachment point, an unstable flow, and a symmetric flow without any reattachment point. Using dye visualizations, the median value and the temporal variability of the reattachment lengths were precisely measured for the asymmetric flows. For each stable flow, sediment tests with plastic particles were carried out. The regions of deposition on the bed of the reservoir were clearly a function of the flow pattern. The transition from an asymmetric flow pattern to a symmetric flow pattern was responsible for an abrupt decrease of the trap efficiency; a number of regression laws were discussed to take it into account.

Non-isothermal crystallization transformation kinetics and isothermal crystallization kinetics in super-cooled liquid region（SLR） in Zr55Cu30Ni5Al10 bulk metallic glasses were studied by differential scanning calorimetry（DSC） and X-ray diffraction（XRD）.In isochronal mode,the average values of activation energy in Zr55Cu30Ni5Al10 bulk metallic glass determined by different models（Kissinger method,Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method and Augis-Bennett method） are in good agreement with each *** addition,the isothermal transformation kinetics in Zr55Cu30Ni5Al10 bulk metallic glasses was described by the johnson-Mehl-Avrami（jMA） *** Zr55Cu30Ni5Al10 bulk metallic glass,the Avrami exponent n ranges from 2.2 to 2.9,indicating that crystallization mechanism in the bulk metallic glass was mainly diffusion-controlled;crystal growth is controlled by long range ordering diffusion in three-dimensional growth during isothermal crystallization *** average value of activation energy in Zr55Cu30Ni5Al10 bulk metallic glass is 469 kj/mol in isothermal transformation process.

The dynamic mechanical relaxation behavior of Ti36.2Zr30.3Cu8.3Fe4Be21.2 bulk metallic glass with good glass-forming ability was investigated by mechanical *** mechanical relaxation behavior was analyzed in the framework of quasi-point defects *** experimental results demonstrate that the atomic mobility of the metallic glass is closely associated with the correlation factorχ.The physical aging below the glass transition temperature T g shows a non-Debye relaxation behavior,which could be well described by stretched Kohlrausch exponential *** Kohlrausch exponentβaging reflects the dynamic heterogeneities of the metallic *** concentration of"defects"and atomic mobility decrease caused by the in situ successive heating during the mechanical spectroscopy experiments.

Dynamic relaxation processes are fundamental to understand the mechanical and physical properties of metallic glasses. In the current work, mechanical relaxations in a La30Ce30Al15Co25 bulk metallic glass were probed by dynamic mechanical analysis. In contrast to many metallic glasses, La30Ce30Al15Co25 metallic glass shows a pronounced slow β relaxation peak. Physical aging below the glass transition temperature Tgleads to an increase of the apparent activation energy and a decrease of the slow β relaxation magnitude. The correlation between the slow β relaxation and the main α relaxation is discussed.

Gaseous naphthalene has been removed by air plasma generated by pulsed corona discharges at 100°C(LSPM)and dielectric barrier discharges(DBD)up to 250℃(LPGP)in different reactors *** has been chosen as one of unbumed hydrocarbon present in exhaust gas engine during the cold start of *** comparison between the different discharge geometries has been possible using the specific input energy(SIE)as relevant parameter for pollutant removal process control considering the differences in the electrical characteristics and the differences of gas *** best naphthalene degradation is obtained in the wire-to cylinder(WTC)corona discharge and the stem-to-cylinder DBD with an energy costβrespectively of 10 and 20 j L^-*** main by-products issues of the naphthalene oxidation are CO2 and CO reaching 45%in Multi-Pin-to-Plan corona *** detected polyaromatic hydrocarbons in the gas phase(few ppm)and in the solid phase deposited in the *** introduction of water in the discharges promotes the naphthalene degradation by OH-atom,which has better oxidising power than O-atom in dry air.

The presented work addresses the topic of energy savings in existing public buildings, when no significant retrofits on buitding envelope or plants can be done and savings can be achieved by designing intelligent ICT-based service to monitor and contro[ environmental conditions, energy loads and plants operation. At the end of 2010 the European Commission, within the Seventh Framework Program, has founded a project entitled ＂Smart Energy Efficient Middleware for Public Spaces＂（SEEMPubS）. To achieve this goal the project will implement, in a set of demonstrator buildings, an interoperab[e web-based software and hardware solution for real-time monitoring and control of lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning servfces, through both wired and wireless sensor networks. In this paper the first phase of the project, concerning the selection of the environments to be used as demonstrator and the definition of the control and monitoring strategies to reduce energy consumptions for lighting and air conditioning, are presented.

The Curie temperatures(T_(C))of La_(0.7)Ce_(0.3)Fe_(13-x-y)Mn_(x)Si_(y)compounds that are hydrogenated to saturation are raised to near room *** age stability was inves-tigated for the fully hydrogenated La_(0.7)Ce_(0.3)Fe_(11.5-x)Mn_(x)Si_(1.5) *** result indicates that the H content will slowly decrease in the hydrides,leading to a decrease in T_(C).However,no age splitting is observed after the hydrides are held at room temperature for two years,indicating the excellent age stability of the *** structural analysis by neutron diffrac-tion shows that Mn atoms preferentially substitute Fe in the 96i *** T_(C)of La_(0.7)Ce_(0.3)Fe_(11.55-y)Mn_(y)Si_(1.45)hydrides can be adjusted to the desired working temperature by regulating Mn content based on the linear relationship between T_(C)and Mn ***,the La_(0.7)Ce_(0.3)Fe_(11.55-y)Mn_(y)Si_(1.45)hydrides exhibit a giant magnetic entropy change of 15 j·kg^(-1)·K^(-1) under a low magneticfield change of 0-1 *** a result,the giant magnetocaloric effect,linearly adjustable T_(C),and excel-lent age stability make the La_(0.7)Ce_(0.3)Fe_(11.55-y)Mn_(y)Si_(1.45)hydrides be one of the ideal candidates for room temperature magnetic refrigerants.
