Understanding Formation Mechanism of Titanate Nanowires through Hydrothermal Treatment of Various Ti-Containing Precursors in basic Solutions

Titanate nanowires prepared by hydrothermal treatment of Ti02 in NaOH solution have attracted intensive attentions, but the formation mechanism is still under debate. Herein, we report an in-depth study on the formation mechanism through investigating the hydrothermal behavior of various Ti-containing precursors in basic solutions, including Ti, TiN, TiO2, Ti2SnC and Ti2AIN. Based on the results by means of X-ray diffraction （XRD）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and Raman spectroscopy, it is demonstrated that the crystal structure of the hydrothermal products is irrespective to the structure of the precursors or the types of basic solution （NaOH or KOH） in use. Alkali ions play an important role in the formation of titanate nanowires. The formation mechanism of the resultant titanate nanowires was proposed to be dissolution-crystallization mechanism.

Generating basic Unit Movements with Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks

Arm motion control is fundamental for robot accomplishing complicated manipulation *** movements can be organized by configuring a series of motion units. Our work aims at equipping the robot with the ability to carry out basic unit movements(BUMs), which are used to constitute various motion sequences so that the robot can drive its hand to a desired position. With the definition of BUMs, we explore a learning approach for the robot to develop such an ability by leveraging deep learning technique. In order to generate the BUM regarding to the current arm state,an internal inverse model is developed. We propose to use Conditional generative adversarial networks(CGANs) to establish the inverse model to generate the BUMs. The experimental results on a humanoid robot PKU-HR6.0Ⅱ illustrate that CGANs could successfully generate multiple solutions given a BUM, and these BUMs can be used to constitute further reaching movement effectively.

Recent experimental findings have demonstrated the occurrence of superconductivity in Bernal bilayer graphene when induced by a magnetic *** this study,we conduct a theoretical investigation of the potential pairing symmetry within this superconducting *** developing a theoretical model,we primarily calculate the free energy of the system with p+ip-wave parallel spin pairing,p+ip-wave anti-parallel spin pairing and d+i d-wave pairing *** results confirm that the magnetic field is indeed essential for generating the *** discover that the p+ip-wave parallel spin pairing leads to a lower free energy for the *** numerical calculations of the energy band structure,zero-energy spectral function and density of states for each of the three pairing symmetries under consideration show a strong consistency with the free energy results.

Sini powder ameliorates the inflammatory response in rats with stress-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B/pyrin domain-containing protein 3 pathway

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of Sini powder for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in rats and the molecular mechanisms ***: A rat model of stress-induced NAFLD was established by a combination of long-term tethering and feeding of a high-fat, high-calorie diet. These rats were then intragastrically administered with either simvastatin, Sini powder, or vehicle for 1 week. The body mass and field test scores for each group were recorded weekly. Serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase activities, and triglyceride, total cholesterol,and free fatty acid concentrations were *** tissue histopathology was examined on hematoxylin and eosin-stained paraffin sections and oil red O-stained frozen sections. The hepatic m RNA expression of nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),NOD-, LRR-, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing CARD(ASC), and caspase-1 were measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The hepatic protein concentrations of NF-κB and NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, interleukin-1β(IL-1β), interleukin-6(IL-6), and the serum concentrations of IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***: Compared with the Blank group, rats in the Compound model group showed significant pathologic manifestations of NAFLD, and the expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1βand IL-6 were significantly higher(all P < 0.01). Both simvastatin and Sini powder significantly ameliorated the NAFLD pathology and the abnormal expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-6(all P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Sini powder inhibits the inflamma-tory response in rats with NAFLD, which is mediated by NF-κB/NLRP3, IL-1β, and IL-6, reduces the effects of psychological stress, and improves lipid metabolism. Therefore, Sini powder may be effective for the treatment of stress-related NAFLD through multiple mechanisms.

Anti-oxidative and immunological role of Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharide on the liver injury of diabetic rats

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Cyclocarya paliurus(C. paliurus) polysaccharide on the liver injury of diabetic rats. METHODS: Rats were divided into 6 groups, including normal group, model group, control group, low-dose group of C. paliurus polysaccharide treatment, middledose group of C. paliurus polysaccharide treatment and high-dose group of C. paliurus polysaccharide treatment. Histological analysis of liver was analyzed using hematoxilin and eosin. Levels of plasma biological parameters and anti-oxidative enzymes were determined by spectrophotometry. Nuclear factor kappa-B-p65(NF-κB p65), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukins 6(IL-6), IL-1β were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Compared with that of model group, the glucose level of plasma decreased 62.32%(P < 0.01), but glycogen and insulin level increased 1.51 times and 1.27 times in the high-dose group of C. paliurus polysaccharide treatment, respectively. Plasma alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alkaline phosphatase(ALP) level decreased 47.47%(P < 0.05), 43.65%(P < 0.05) and 50.51%(P < 0.05) in the high-dose group of C. paliurus polysaccharide treatment, respectively. Superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase level increased 1.16 times(P < 0.01), 71.28%(P < 0.05), 1.29 times(P < 0.01) and 87.46%(P < 0.05) in the high-dose group of C. paliurus polysaccharide treatment, respectively. Enzyme activities of NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were decreased 39.29%(P < 0.05), 51.11%(P < 0.05), 37.42%(P < 0.05) and 36.50%(P < 0.05), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Administration of C. paliurus polysaccharide may play a protecting role for liver injury of diabetic rats through lowering glucose, ALT, AST, ALP level, increasing glycogen and insulin level, enhancing the anti-oxidative ability and down-regulating the inflammatory factors expression.
