Tumor cells have unique metabolic programming that is biologically distinct from that of corresponding normal *** tumor metabolic programming is a promising strategy to ameliorate drug resistance and improve the tumor ***,we show that carboxyamidotriazole(CAI),an anticancer drug,can function as a metabolic modulator that decreases glucose and lipid metabolism and increases the dependency of colon cancer cells on glutamine *** suppressed glucose and lipid metabolism utilization,causing inhibition of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I,thus producing reactive oxygen species(ROS).In parallel,activation of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor(Ah R)increased glutamine uptake via the transporter SLC1A5,which could activate the ROS-scavenging enzyme glutathione *** a result,combined use of inhibitors of GLS/GDH1,CAI could effectively restrict colorectal cancer(CRC)energy *** data illuminate a new antitumor mechanism of CAI,suggesting a new strategy for CRC metabolic reprogramming treatment.

This article reviews the cohort study published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology,which reported low rates of Helicobacter pylori(***)infection among esophageal cancer(EC)patients,coupled with proton pump inhibitor(PPI)*** findings suggest a potential protective role of *** against EC and indicate a possible association between PPI use and increased cancer *** light of these findings,our article examines the complex relationship between *** and esophageal precancerous lesions,exploring the potential underlying *** also address growing concerns regarding PPI overuse,including its potential effects on cancer therapy efficacy and the risk of drug ***,this article highlights the urgent need for further research to evaluate the safety and efficacy of PPIs in cancer patients and to better understand their broader implications.

The usage of next-generation sequencing(NGS)to detect copy number variation(CNV)is widely accepted in cancer *** on an AluScanCNV software developed by us previously,an AluScanCNV2 software has been developed in the present study as an R package that performs CNV detection from NGS data obtained through AluScan,wholegenome sequencing or other targeted NGS *** applications would include the expedited usage of somatic CNVs for cancer subtyping,and usage of recurrent germline CNVs to perform machine learning-assisted prediction of a test subject’s susceptibility to cancer.

Objective:To evaluate the success rate of tuberculosis intervention programme at a specialist hospital in(?)badan,Nigeria through a retrospective study as well as carry out physicochemical evaluation of anti-tuberculous agents as a way of eliminating drug-related ***:The retrospective study involved the use of quarterly tuberculosis central register at the Government Chest Hospital,(?)badan between 1st quarter(2003)to 4th quarter(2009).Relevant data were extracted from these register with the aid of data collection *** basic physicochemical analyses of the drugs given to the patients were also carried out using the International Pharmacopoeia ***:All the drugs examined for their physicochemical properties passed the International Pharmacopeia recommended tests.A total number of 1 260 patients enrolled at the hospital were assessed through case *** comprises of 59.4%males of which69.23%new cases were also *** was a significant(P0.05).Failure rates in all categories were higher in males than females(P>0.05).Conclusions:More enlightenment and counseling is still required to meet up with the target for TB control.

BACKGROUND Depression is one of the most common and important psychological issues faced by dialysis *** can make it more difficult for them to adhere to their treatment regimen,which,in turn,can worsen their physical symptoms and lead to poorer health *** To examine the evolution and growth of publications related to dialysis and *** objectives were to identify the number of publications,the top active countries,the contributed institutions,funding agencies and journals,as well as to perform citation and research theme *** The search was conducted using the Scopus database for publications related to dialysis and depression between 1970 and ***,bibliometric analysis was carried out on the data obtained using VOSviewer software,version *** analysis included visualization analysis,co-occurrence analysis and examination of publication trends in dialysis and *** We identified 800 publications that met the search *** number of publications related to dialysis and depression has increased significantly in the past two *** USA led the way with 144 publications,which is 18%of all publications on this *** came second with 88 publications(11%),followed by China with 55 publications(6.88%)and Iran with 52 publications(6.5%).Analysis of the research theme identified three main clusters related to gender differences in prevalence,identification of depression as a risk factor,and effective interventions to relieve *** research direction analysis shows a shift toward effective interventions to relieve depression in dialysis *** This study provides a comprehensive overview of growth,trends and research themes related to dialysis and depression that could help researchers identify gaps in the literature and develop future research.

Panax notoginseng saponins(PNS) are the major components of Panax notoginseng, with multiple pharmacological activities but poor oral bioavailability. PNS could be metabolized by gut microbiota in vitro, while the exact role of gut microbiota of PNS metabolism in vivo remains poorly understood. In this study, pseudo germ-free rat models were constructed by using broad-spectrum antibiotics to validate the gut microbiota-mediated transformation of PNS in vivo. Moreover, a high performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-ESI-MS/MS) was developed for quantitative analysis of four metabolites of PNS, including ginsenoside F1(GF1), ginsenoside Rh2(GRh2), ginsenoside compound K(GCK) and protopanaxatriol(PPT). The results showed that the four metabolites could be detected in the control rat plasma, while they could not be determined in pseudo germ-free rat plasma. The results implied that PNS could not be biotransformed effectively when gut microbiota was disrupted. In conclusion, gut microbiota plays an important role in biotransformation of PNS into metabolites in vivo.
