Information on the physicochemical properties of chemical species is an important prerequisite when performing tasks such as process design and product ***,the lack of extensive data and high experimental costs hinder the development of prediction techniques for these ***,accuracy and predictive capabilities still limit the scope and applicability of most property estimation *** paper proposes a new Gaussian process-based modeling framework that aims to manage a discrete and high-dimensional input space related to molecular structure representation with the group-contribution approach.A warping function is used to map discrete input into a continuous domain in order to adjust the correlation between different *** selection techniques,including prior elicitation and prior predictive checking,are also applied during the building procedure to provide the model with more information from previous research *** framework is assessed using datasets of varying sizes for 20 pure component *** 18 out of the 20 pure component properties,the new models are found to give improved accuracy and predictive power in comparison with other published models,with and without machine learning.

Electro-and photochemical studies of gold (Ⅲ) bromide towards a novel laser-based method of gold patterning

In this report, we demonstrate a novel technique for the microscopic patterning of gold by combining the photoreduction of Au^(Ⅲ)Br_(2)^(-)to Au^(Ⅰ)Br_(2)^(-)and the electrochemical reduction of Au^(Ⅰ)Br_(2)^(-)to elemental gold in a single step within solution. While mask-based methods have been the norm for electroplating, the adoption of direct laser writing for flexible, real-time patterning has not been widespread. Through irradiation using a 405 nm laser and applying a voltage corresponding to a selective potential window specific to Au^(Ⅰ)Br_(2)^(-), we have shown that we can locally deposit elemental gold at the focal point of the laser. In addition to demonstrating the feasibility of the technique, we have collected data on the kinetics of the photoreduction reaction in ethanol and have deduced its rate law. We have confirmed the selective deposition of Au^(Ⅰ)Br_(2)^(-) within a potential window through controlled potential electrolysis experiments and through direct measurement on a quartz crystal microbalance. Finally, we have verified local deposition through scanning electron microscopy.

Does Foreign Direct Investment Provide Desirable Development Finance? The Case of China

Foreign direct investment （FDI） is ofen considered as a cost-effective and risk-reducing source for development finance. This paper, however, shows that FDI finance often entails underestimated risks and costs. FDI might react sensitively to business cycles and might not be as ＂permanent＂ as conventionally believed. FDI might also accelerate other forms of capital flow in times of financial difficulties and, hence, destabilize ftnancial order. In addition to the risks, compensations to FDI and the high import-dependency of FDI-related trade lead to a considerable drain on the balance of payments. Moreover, the reliance on foreign capital for development finance is equivalent to building a Ponzi financing scheme and, therefore, is unsustainable. Given the fact that FDI financing is risky and costly and China does not lack savings, it is suggested in the present paper that China ＇s efforts in attracting FDI should not aim at external capital provisioning.

BACKGROUND Medication errors,especially in dosage calculation,pose risks in *** intelligence(AI)systems like ChatGPT and Google bard may help reduce errors,but their accuracy in providing medication information remains to be *** To evaluate the accuracy of AI systems(ChatGPT 3.5,ChatGPT 4,Google bard)in providing drug dosage information per Harrison's Principles of Internal *** A set of natural language queries mimicking real-world medical dosage inquiries was presented to the AI *** were analyzed using a 3-point Likert *** analysis,conducted with Python and its libraries,focused on basic statistics,overall system accuracy,and disease-specific and organ system *** ChatGPT 4 outperformed the other systems,showing the highest rate of correct responses(83.77%)and the best overall weighted accuracy(0.6775).Disease-specific accuracy varied notably across systems,with some diseases being accurately recognized,while others demonstrated significant *** system accuracy also showed variable results,underscoring system-specific strengths and *** ChatGPT 4 demonstrates superior reliability in medical dosage information,yet variations across diseases emphasize the need for ongoing *** results highlight AI's potential in aiding healthcare professionals,urging continuous development for dependable accuracy in critical medical situations.

Like every other societal domain,science faces yet another reckoning caused by a bot called ChatGPT(Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer).ChatGPT was introduced in November 2022 to produce messages that seem like they were written by humans and are *** the release of the latest version of ChatGPT called GPT-4,and other similar models such as Google bard,Chatsonic,Collosal Chat,these chatbots combine several(about 175 billion)neural networks pre-trained on large Language Models(LLMs),allowing them to respond to user promptings just like ***-4 for example can admit its mistakes and confront false assumptions thanks to the dialogue style,which also enables it to write essays and to keep track of the context of a discussion while it is ***,users may be deceived by the human-like text structure of the AI models to believe that it came from a human origin[1].These chatbot models could be better,even though they generate text with a high level of ***,they produce inappropriate or wrong responses,resulting in faulty inferences or ethical *** article will discuss some fundamental strengths and weaknesses of this Artificial intelligence(AI)system concerning scientific research.
