The chemical co.position and high wear resistance of steel slag(SS)make it a potential alternative to traditional inorganic fillers.3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane(KH550)modified steel slag(MSS)was successfully prepared,and its application in epoxy(EP)anti-co.rosion co.ting was *** to the grafting of silane co.pling agent functional groups onto the surface of SS,MSS exhibited improved solubility in xylene organic solvent and reduced *** the MSS co.tent was 15 wt.%,the co.tact angle of the MSS/EP co.posite co.ting was 101°,and the abrasion was only 0.07 g,co.pared with 56.2°and 0.13 g,respectively,for the pure EP *** co.rosion resistance of co.tings was investigated by performing the electrochemical test(impedance)after immersion in a 3.5 wt.%NaCl *** electrochemical test results showed that the impedance modulus of the 15 wt.%MSS/EP co.posite co.ting at low frequency(Z_(f)=0.01 Hz)was approximately 1.08×10^(7)Ωcm^(2),which was two orders of magnitude higher than that of the pure EP co.ting.

co.pling effect and characterization modeling of iron ore fines mixing and granulating at 0-1 mm

Characteristic of iron ore is the essential factor of *** ores,namely specularite,magnetite co.centrate and limonite,were selected as adhesion powder to investigate granulating behavior and evolution process of *** and modeling were performed to represent granulating behavior on the basis of selectivity,ballability and adhesion *** mass fraction of water and particles size of adhesion and nucleation were set at(11±1)%,0-1 mm and 3-5 mm,*** results show that selectivity and ballability promote the evolution of *** water absorption rate of specularite and the ballability of limonite are *** co.pling effects exist in two ores mixing and present positive effect when the proportion of magnetite co.centrate is greater than that of specularite or specularite and limonite *** three ores mixing,the co.pling effect presents a co.plex superposition state.A characterization model of adhesion rate of mixing granulation was established by random forest *** output is adhesion rate,and its inputs include water absorption rate,balling index and mixing *** model parameters are 957 trees and four branches,and the training and prediction errors of the model are 2.3%and 3.7%,*** indicates that the random forest model can be used to represent co.pling effects of mixing granulation.

The practice of using LT dust and BOF slag as hot metal dephosphorizing fluxes at baosteel

In order to meet the requirements for environmental protection and achieve sustainable development for the steel industry, baosteel＇ s seco.dary resources should be utilized in production. Hot metal dephosphorizing factors are analyzed and the practice of a dephosphorizing agent for molten iron pretreatment with LT dust and BOF slag is introduced. Experimental results show that LT dust and BOF slag can be substituted for traditional raw materials, such as sinter and quicklime, etc in molten iron dephosphorization. The proper addition of LT dust or BOF slag and the proper co.trol over basic agents, oxidizing agents and fluxes can achieve the same effect as traditional dephosphorizing agents. BaO can reduce the activity of P2O5 and form stable dephosphorizing products. Using a BaO dephosphorizing agent as a kind of harmless dephosphorizing agent will be one of the trends of molten iron dephosphorization.

Numerical simulation of A1203 deposition at a nozzle during co.tinuous casting

The effects of various factors, such as argon flow rate and slide gate opening ratio, on the alumina deposition rate were researched by the numerical simulation method. The pressure in the nozzle is significantly affected by argon flow rate and slide gate opening ratio. To keep positive pressure in the nozzle, the argon flow rate should be increased with a decrease in slide gate opening ratio. The effect of argon flow rate on the alumina deposition rate depends on the co.dition of opening ratio or casting speed. The effect of increasing the argon flow rate on the deposition rate is not obvious when the opening ratio is small. The A1203 deposition rate decreases significantly with an increase in argon flow rate when the argon flow rate is low, but it decreases slowly when the argon flow rate reaches a certain value. The alumina deposition rate is linear with alumina co.tent at different slide gate opening ratios and argon flow rates. The observed thickness of the deposition layer at the bottom and outlet of a real clogged nozzle is almost equal to the result of the numerical simulation.

Application of cationic emulsion in stainless steel co.d rolling

Emulsion, obtained by cationic emulsifiers, allows much larger oil droplets with narrower particle distribution, slows down the co.tamination from iron fines to the oil droplets, and is further enhanced with higher boundary and elastohydrodynamic lubrication for a relatively slower rolling process but high rolling force. As a result,it is suitable for the co.d rolling of stainless steel. Cationic emulsion is now applied in a 1 750 mm 5-stand tandem co.d rolling mill of baosteel to roll stainless steel and carbon steel. The production process is stable and the product quality satisfies customer requirements.

By means of pressureless sintering process,the zirco.ia ceramic materials were prepared using calcia partially stabilized zirco.ia and monoclinic zirco.ia as raw materials,Y2O3and Ce O2powder as co.posite stabilizer,PVA as *** effects of monoclinic zirco.ia grain size distribution,molding pressure and granulation on the sintering,mechanical strength,thermal shock resistance and phase co.position of the specimens sintered at 1700℃and 1720℃for 3h in an air atmosphere were *** results indicate that zirco.ia materials with good thermal shock resistance can be produced by this *** the same time,monoclinic zirco.ia powder is finer,and the more co.tributions can be made to stability and densification of zirco.ia because of the transformation of monoclinic zirco.ia to cubic zirco.ia.

Investigation of Surface Damage in Forming of High Strength and Galvanized Steel Sheets

Powdering/exfoliating of co.tings and scratching galvanized steels and high strength steels （HSS）, are the main forms of surface damage in the forming of which result in increased die maintenance co.t and scrap rate. In this study, a special rectangular box was developed to investigate the behavior and characteristics of surface damage in sheet metal forming （SMF） processes. U-channel forming tests were co.ducted to study the effect of tool hardness on surface damage in the forming of high strength steels and galvanized steels （hot-dip galvanized and galvannealed steels）. Experimental results indicate that sheet deformation mode influences the severity of surface damage in SMF and surface damage occurs easily at the regions where sheet specimen deforms under the action of co.pressive stress. Die co.ner is the position where surface damage initiates. For HSS sheet, surface damage is of major interest due to high forming pressure. The HSS and hot-dip galvanized steels show improved ability of damage-resistance with increased hardness of the forming tool. However, for galvannealed steel it is not the forming tool with the highest hardness value that performs best.

Cause analysis of and solution to furnace roller pick-up in the high strength automotive steel sheet processing line

co.d-rolled high strength steel sheets for automobiles co.tain more Mn and Si based alloy elements, which, under the reducing atmosphere in the annealing furnace, will get enriched on the strip surface. Since the furnace rollers and the strips co.tact frequently, alloy elements on the roller surface will form hard protuberance. We call this protuberance ＂pick-up＂. In addition, with the increase of the amount of dust in the furnace atmosphere, the occurrence of furnace roller pick-up will also increase. Through chemical reaction and physical accumulation analysis co.bined with practical experience, the causes of pick-up in different furnace sections were analyzed. Methods of preventing furnace roller pick-up in the high strength steel sheet processing line were discussed and solutions to improving the strip surface quality in the co.tinous annealing furnace were provided.

New spraying process development for inlet deflector roller in a reco.ling line

The inlet deflector rollers of a reco.ling line are sprayed rollers. Short scratch lines have been found on the surface of steel sheets during co.missioning. By adjusting the co.trol parameters of the line and investigating the manufacturing process of inlet deflector rollers, the root cause of the scratches was found. By modifying the manufacturing process of the rollers, the scratches have been thoroughly eliminated, and quality steel sheets have been co.sistently produced in the reco.ling line.
