Diabetic neuropathy is a disorder which affects various regions of the nervous sys-tem and there is no specific treatment available for ***,the present study eval-uated protective effect of molsidomine in diabetic neuropathy in *** was induced in male Wistar rats by administrating streptozotocin(52 mg/kg i.p).Diabetic rats were administered with molsidomine 5 mg/kg p.o,and 10mg/kg *** *** 8 weeks of treatment,Motor coordination,Mechanical allodynia,Mechanical hyperalgesia,Nerve conduction velocity,Glycosylated hemoglobin were *** animals were sacrificed and sciatic nerve was *** was used for reduced glutathione,lipid peroxidation and for *** with molsidomine significantly improved motor coordination,paw withdrawal threshold,mechanical threshold and nerve conduction ***,mol-sidomine treatment also reduced malondialdehyde levels and prevented depletion of reduced glutathione in sciatic nerve *** shows molsid-omine treatment maintained normal architecture of sciatic *** results of our study strengthens the alterative use of molsidomine in diabetic neuropathy.

This paper deals with the Mangal Kavyas of Bengal, folk epics arising out of an oral tradition practiced by rural women. The female deities to whom these epics are devoted, like the snake goddess Manasa, are also part of the folk tradition, far removed from the Hindu pantheon of gods or the Vedic ways of worship and are related to the particular fears of village life. There is therefore, a de-mythologized version of these deities represented in these epics, a crystallization of the desires, wants, and ways of life of the rural population through the figure of the goddess, a version these village women can readily empathize with, making these epics rich in social documentation of contemporary village life.

Introduction THick Gas Electron Multiplier(THGEM)is considered in many UV photon detector *** has the capability of detecting single photon and imaging with high *** parameters such as choice of gas mixture,pressure,drift field,drift gap,multiplication voltage,induction field and induction gap play an important role in deciding the spatial resolution of the *** simulation study enables to optimize the above-mentioned parameters for a given THGEM-based imaging detector and hence to achieve improved performance for the *** and methods Simulation,using ANSYS and Garfield++,starts with the release of primary electrons at random coordinates on the photocathode *** are tracked as they pass through the drift gap and THGEM hole till the electron cloud reaches anode *** of electron cloud on the anode plane along X and Y axis is plotted in histogram and fitted with Gaussian function to determine spatial ***/CO_(2)(70:30)mixture,which shows higher ETE and lower transverse diffusion,is chosen for this simulation *** Transverse diffusion has a major impact on both ETE and the spatial *** transverse diffusion coefficient is always desired for having better resolution as well as for *** is found from the simulation study that higher gas pressure,lower drift field and induction field,smaller drift and induction gap can provide optimum detection efficiency with the best spatial *** simulation method proposed here can also be extended to X-ray imaging detectors.

The present investigation focuses on the thermal performance of a fully wet stretching/shrinking longitudinal fin of exponential profile coated with a mechanism like a conveyer *** modeled equation is non-dimensionalized and solved by applying the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg(RKF)*** effects of parameters such as the wet parameter,the fin shape parameter,and the stretching/shrinking parameter on the heat transfer and thermal characteristics of the fin are graphically analyzed and *** is inferred that the negative effects of motion and internal heat generation on the fin heat transfer rate can be lessened by setting a shrinking mechanism on the fin *** current examination is inclined towards practical applications and is beneficial to the design of fins.

We propose an explicit,single-step discontinuous Galerkin method on moving grids using the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian approach for one-dimensional Euler *** grid is moved with the local fluid velocity modified by some smoothing,which is found to con-siderably reduce the numerical dissipation introduced by Riemann *** scheme preserves constant states for any mesh motion and we also study its positivity preservation *** grid refinement and coarsening are performed to maintain the mesh qual-ity and avoid the appearance of very small or large ***,higher order methods are developed and several test cases are provided to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed scheme.

The development of prostate cancer from a clinically localized, hormone-naive state to a hormonerefractory phenotype involves a complex interplay of protein kinase C (PKC) and activator protein-1 (AP-1). Therefore, the present study aimed to uncover the roles of PKC and AP-1 through midostaurin-mediated regulation—a multi-target protein kinase inhibitor. Androgen Receptor-negative, hormone-refractory prostate cancer cells (PC-3) were used as an in-vitro model system. The effect of midostaurin on cell viability was assessed by an MTT assay. Expression studies on PKC-α, PKC-d, different AP-1 transcription factors, and AP-1 regulating genes were analyzed by semiquantitative RT-PCR, and protein levels of Bcl-2 were evaluated by western blotting. Midostaurin decreased the viability of hormone-refractory PC-3 cells. Furthermore, midostaurin significantly induced the transcripts of apoptotic-mediated PKC-d, tumor suppressor p53, cell cycle inhibitor p21cip1/waf1, death receptor TNF-α, pro-apoptotic Bax, and Caspase-8, and eventually inhibited the expression of pro-survival PKC-ε, pro-oncogene c-Jun, c-Fos, Fra-1, positive growth regulator cyclin D1, and anti-apoptotic Bcl-2. In addition, midostaurin also decreased the protein expression of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2. The present study provided evidence that midostaurin suppresses tumor growth and induces apoptosis in hormone-refractory PC-3 cells via modulation of PKC-d and PKC-ε expression, and regulation of PMA-altered c-Jun, c-Fos, and Fra-1 AP-1 transcription factors and their target genes involved in cell cycle regulation (cyclin D1, p53, p21, Bcl-2, and TNF-α). Thus, pharmacological targeting of PKC and AP-1 factors may have therapeutic potential against hormone-refractory prostate cancer.

In the present communication,various fluxes blended Y2 O3：Eu3＋（5 mol%） nanopowders（NPs） were successfully fabricated by solution combustion *** pattern confirms body-centered cubic structure of the prepared *** band gap（Eg） of the fabricated products was estimated and is found to be in the range of 3.13-3.32 ***（PL） emission spectra exhibit sharp and intense peaks at ～579,592,614,657,704 nm corresponding to 5 D0→7 FJ（J = 0,1,2,3 and 4） transitions of Eu3＋ *** of fluxes for enhancing the PL emissions was extensively *** studies of the prepared samples are located in pure red *** NPs were explored as a novel sensing agent for visualization of latent fingerprints（LFPs） on various surfaces including porous,semiporous and non-porous surfaces followed by powder dusting *** experiments including aging,temperature,scratching and aquatic fresh water treatment tests were performed to evaluate applicability of the fabricated *** LFPs exhibit well defined ridge details including most authenticated sweat pores are also revealed with high sensitivity,selectivity,little background hindrance and less *** results evidence that the method and fabricated NPs can be considered to be simple,rapid and economical and provide novel sensing platform for LFPs visualization in prospective forensic applications.

Numerical study on gas production via a horizontal well from hydrate reservoirs with different slope angles in the South China Sea

It is important to study the effect of hydrate production on the physical and mechanical properties of low-permeability clayey–silty reservoirs for the largescale exploitation of hydrate reservoirs in the South China *** this study,a multiphysical-field coupling model,combined with actual exploration drilling data and the mechanical experimental data of hydrate cores in the laboratory,was established to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of low-permeability reservoirs with different slope angles during 5-year hydrate production by the depressurization method via a horizontal *** result shows that the permeability of reservoirs severely affects gas production rate,and the maximum gas production amount of a 20-m-long horizontal well can reach186.8 m3/day during the 5-year hydrate *** with smaller slope angles show higher gas production *** depressurization propagation and hydrate dissociation mainly develop along the direction parallel to the ***,the mean effective stress of reservoirs is concentrated in the near-wellbore area with the on-going hydrate production,and gradually decreases with the increase of the slope *** from the effective stress distribution law,the total reservoir settlement amount first decreases and then increases with the increase of the slope *** maximum settlement of reservoirs with a 0°slope angle is up to 3.4 m,and the displacement in the near-wellbore area is as high as2.2 m after 5 years of hydrate *** is concluded that the pore pressure drop region of low-permeability reservoirs in the South China Sea is limited,and various slope angles further lead to differences in effective stress and strain of reservoirs during hydrate production,resulting in severe uneven settlement of reservoirs.
