Objective： This article aimed to evaluate the effects of an educational intervention programme on improving peer educator （PE） knowledge in issues around growth and development and its risk behavior problems of adolescents in Indonesia. Methods： The study was conducted in 31 of PEs to evaluate their knowledge in adolescents. The PEs received health education and were assessed by individual work during the structured three-week programme. Data were collected before and after the training programme as pre- and post-tests. Results： The PE demonstrated significant improvements in their knowledge after attending the three-week structured training programme. The post-test scores had significant effects on the dimensions of PE knowledge scores. The PE become knowledgeable to maintain and monitor adolescents health issues around growth and development and its risk behavior problems of adolescents. Conclusions： The PE become knowledgeable to respond to the adolescent problems and readiness to become PE during puberty.

Process of Decision-Making of Anti-Cancer Treatment in Elderly Patients with Advanced Lung Cancer

The aim of this study was to identify the decision-making process of anti-cancer treatment in elderly patients with advanced lung cancer. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 patients aged 70 and above to collect data on their feelings and thoughts from the time of diagnosis till they made treatment decisions. The data was analyzed using the Modified Grounded Theory Approach that was modified by Prof. Yasuhito Kinoshita. We found the process to be composed of six categories. The results showed that elderly patients with advanced lung cancer were panicked over unavoidable death when informed of stage IV lung cancer and offered suggestions about anti-cancer treatment. However, trying to accept the situation where death is imminent, patients reconsidered having cancer in older age and recognized a desire to survive even in older age. This process diverged into two paths: one group of patients changed their ideas from radical to life-prolonging treatment by recognizing a desire to survive even in older age and then made anti-cancer treatment decisions by carefully choosing treatment that would allow to carry on their usual way of life;the other group of patients made treatment decisions by carefully choosing physicians to whom they could entrust their life in older age. These findings suggest that it is important for nurses to: 1) encourage patients to talk in order to have them think about what they have valued and want to value in the rest of their life;2) assess if patients prefer to decide on their own by carefully choosing treatment or entrust treatment decisions to physicians;and 3) offer support according to patients’ preferences.

Study of the Possible Use of a Home-Visit nursing Interventional Lymphedema Care program for Secondary Lymphedema in the Elderly at Home

Objective: This study aimed to clarify the possible use of and points to improve a home-visit nursing interventional lymphedema care program (plan) we developed. Methods: The subjects were visiting nurses with at least three years of home-visit nursing experience and experience with lymphedema care for the elderly at home. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and the collected opinions were aggregated and summarized. Results: Based on interviews with nine subjects, opinions regarding the use of the program, such as “The assessment perspective at the time of introduction helps to grasp the needs for a wide variety of subjects”, and regarding points to improve, such as “It is necessary to set the duration and timing of the section considering the frequency of visits and degree of edema at the time of introduction” and “It is necessary to have a perspective concerning efforts to maintain motivation for care of the elderly and their families”, were aggregated. Discussion: The results of the interviews were generally useful for the structure and development of the program, care methods and content, and interventions for influencing factors. Consideration of setting the timing according to the degree of lymphedema, modification of the program’s development, development of a program that fully considers the degree of edema at the time of introduction and the acceptance of edema among the elderly, and the need to consider the care content that should be given priority were suggested as points for improvement.

Decision-Making Process for the Place of Death of Elderly Patients with Advanced Cancer and Their Families

Purpose: This study aims to understand how elderly patients with advanced cancer and their families make a decision for a place of death for the patient. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 pairs of elderly patients and members of their family. The patients had finished anticancer treatment and made some decision about the preferred place of death. A modified grounded-theory approach was used for the data analysis. Results: Making a “tentative” decision for the place of death of the elderly patients is a process with the core category [carefully choosing the final place for self-fulfillment]. The patients were “conducting a comprehensive review of the place of death” and “embracing the wishes for a way of life without difficulty”. Involving the family in making a “tentative” decision about the place of death of the elderly patients is the process with the core category [realizing the wish of patients in the terminal condition for the way for death]. The families were “examining the place of death from different aspects” and “respecting the patient’s intention as far as possible”. Conclusions: When the patients [carefully choosing the final place for self-fulfillment], it was important to reconcile their wishes with the burden on the families. When the families were trying to [realize the wish of patients in the terminal condition for the way for dying], it was important to balance the respect for the patient intentions and homecare they can provide for the patient. For the patients and their families, it is essential to mutually understand the intentions and wishes of the other party in decision making about the place of death.

Physical exercise is of great significance for maintaining human *** can provide varying degrees of benefits to cognitive function at all stages of life ***,with the aging of the world’s population and increase of life expectancy,cognitive dysfunction has gradually become a disease of high incidence,which is accompanied by neurodegenerative diseases in elderly *** often exhibit memory loss,aphasia and weakening of orientation once diagnosed,and are unable to have a normal *** dysfunction largely affects the physical and mental health,reduces the quality of life,and causes a great economic burden to the *** present,most of the interventions are aimed to maintain the current cognitive level and delay deterioration of *** contrast,exercise as a nonpharmacological therapy has great advantages in its nontoxicity,low cost and universal *** molecular mechanisms underlying the effect of exercise on cognition are complex,and studies have been extensively centered on neural plasticity,the direct target of exercise in the *** addition,mitochondrial stability and energy metabolism are essential for brain ***,the organ-brain axis responds to exercise and induces release of cytokines related to *** this review,we summarize the latest evidence on the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of exercise on cognition,and point out directions for future research.

Every pregnant woman needs continuous, timely and supportive care throughout during pregnancy for safe motherhood. The objective of this study was to analyze and evaluate the available medications and techniques for the prevention and treatment of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. The standard methodology of systematic review without meta-analysis was followed and only RCTs and systematic reviews were included in the review. Three electronic data sources (PubMed/Medline, CINAHL, and Cochrane) were searched for studies, published between 1986 and 2016 on the prevention and control of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. 47 studies were finally included in the review, of which 18 were systematic reviews and 29 were RCTs. Technologies and techniques used in the included studies for the prevention and control of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia are Magnesium Sulphate, Aspirin, Antioxidant (Vitamin C, E and Lycopene), Calcium supplementation, Chinese Herbal Medicine, physical activities, Nitric Oxide, Marine Food Oils, Low Salt Diet, Garlic, Plasma Volume Expansion, Low-dose Dopamine, Progesterone, Smoking, and Diuretics. Magnesium sulfate appears to be the most effective treatment which reduces the risk of eclampsia by more than 50%. However, its best dose and route are still controversial and need further research. The knowledge and experience of nurses in properly using the protocols and evidence-based interventions are necessary for the wellbeing of pregnant women.

Objective:A study was conducted to explore the level of illness perception,the level of cardiovascular health behaviour and the relationship between illness perception and cardiovascular health behaviour among persons with ischemic heart disease(IHD)in a community ***:The participants comprised 235 persons with *** instruments used were as follows:1)Demographic Data and Health Information,2)The Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire(Brief IPQ),3)The Open-ended Questionnaire(OEQ),and 4)The Modified Cardiac Health Behaviour Scale(MCHBS).Findings from the OEQ are used to assess in-depth illness perception and to extend the information obtained from the Brief *** design of the study was descriptive *** data were analysed using descriptive statistics to present the demographic data and health *** statistics was used to resolve the relationship between illness perception and cardiovascular health behaviour by using Pearson's Product Moment ***:The mean score of illness perception was at a moderate level(M=43.65,SD=3.93),whereas the mean score of cardiovascular health behaviour was at a high level(M=80.29,SD=5.42).A significant positive relationship existed between illness perception and cardiovascular health behaviour among persons with IHD(r=0.38,Pprogram to promoting appropriate illness perception and cardiovascular health behaviour among persons with IHD.

Objective: The objective is to correlate the nursing diagnoses of the domain Safety/Protection of NANDA-I in critically ill patients with sociodemographic and clinical data. Method: A cross-sectional study with 86 individuals was conducted, from October 2013 to May 2014 in the Intensive Care Unit of a university hospital in northeastern Brazil, through a formal interview and physical examination. Results: It was possible to identify a total of 20 significant statistical associations, and 15 were clinically justified by the literature, namely: risk for aspiration and reason for admission;impaired dentition and age;risk for peripheral neurovascular dysfunction and sex and comorbidity;skin integrity and comorbidity;risk for impaired skin integrity and gender and reason for admission;impaired tissue integrity and gender and reason for admission;risk for perioperative positioning injury and reason for admission;risk for thermal injury and age and comorbidity;delayed surgical recovery and reason for admission;risk for poisoning and years of schooling;and risk for imbalanced body temperature and age. Conclusions: By understanding the relationship between customers’ answers and the sociodemographic and clinical profile, positive health outcomes can be achieved in particular in the prevention of risks facing vulnerability characteristics, providing greater safety and protection for the critical customer.

Objective:To explore the meanings and domains for giving communities the capacity to be successful in dengue prevention and ***:One hundred and twenty participants were purposely selected from 4 sub-districts of 4 provinces in Southern Thailand with a high dengue *** community leaders and sixty non-community leaders participated in this ***-depth interviews(IDIs),as well as focus group discussions (FGDs) with tape-recorders and note-taking,were used to collect *** records were transcribed verbatim and analyzed by using the Colaizzi method for content ***:The findings showed that people view the creation of a sustainable dengue community program as possible only with the support of each community in its entirety:"everyone,every sector,all participating,and with continuing activities." Community capacity for dengue prevention and control was dependent on ten domains:1) stakeholder participation, 2) community leadership,3) a core-activities group,4) a problem-solving needs assessment,5) dengue information transfer,6) resource mobilization,7 ) a sense of community for the dengue problem,8) a dengue network partnership,9) critical dengue situation-management,and 10) continuing dengue prevention and control ***:These community capacity domains can be developed into an assessment tool for the community capacity-building *** capacity domains require community leaders and non-community leaders to clarify dengue prevention and control assistance required.

Background:An elderly was closed to some medical problem,especially *** that occur in elderly patients with hypertension not only involve the patient itself but also involve the family as the closest person to the *** important aspect of family nursing is the family *** achieve good treatment outcomes,implementation of evidence-based nursing is *** purpose of this study is to present the implementation of evidence-based nursing to an eldelry in a family bu using coconut water to reduce high blood pressure and progressive muscle relaxation therapy to reduce pain intensity in hypertensive patients,as well as acupressure therapy in stopping smoking that is applied 1 week each ***:In the implementation,complementary therapy is applied to hypertensive patients by given young coconut water and progressive muscle relaxation therapy,and acupressure therapy in an effort to stop ***:showed significant results in the reduction of high blood pressure before being given an intervention was TD:200/100 mmHg and after being given the intervention obtained TD:140/80 mmHg and decreased pain intensity in hypertensive patients using relaxation therapy,as well as a decrease in the number of cigarettes smoked with acupressure therapy for 1 ***:The application of complementary therapy carried out showed improvement in elderly patients suffering from hypertension and smoking behaviour,therefore,the application of evidence based nursing in providing nursing care is ***:Complementary nursing Case Study this is expended to be a reference material to improve health services and provide an overview in carrying out complementary nursing care to families,especially an elderly with comprehensive cases of hypertension(bio,psycho,social and spiritual).
