Exploring the potential of olivine-co.taining co.per-nickel slag for carbon dioxide mineralization in cementitious materials

Water-quenched co.per-nickel metallurgical slag enriched with olivine minerals exhibits promising potential for the production of co.(2)-mineralized cementitious materials.In this work,co.per-nickel slag-based cementitious material(CNCM)was synthesized by using different chemical activation methods to enhance its hydration reactivity and co.(2) mineralization capacity.Different water curing ages and carbonation co.ditions were explored related to their carbonation and mechanical properties development.Meanwhile,thermogravimetry differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction methods were applied to evaluate the co.(2) adsorption amount and carbonation products of CNCM.Microstructure development of carbonated CNCM blocks was examined by backscattered electron imaging(BSE)with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry.Results showed that among the studied samples,the CNCM sample that was subjected to water curing for 3 d exhibited the highest co.(2) sequestration amount of 8.51wt%at 80℃and 72 h while presenting the co.pressive strength of 39.07 MPa.This result indicated that 1 t of this CNCM can sequester 85.1 kg of co.(2) and exhibit high co.pressive strength.Although the addition of citric acid did not improve strength development,it was beneficial to increase the co.(2) diffusion and adsorption amount under the same carbonation co.ditions from BSE results.This work provides guidance for synthesizing co.(2)-mineralized cementitious materials using large amounts of metallurgical slags co.taining olivine minerals.

Spent graphite regeneration:Exploring diverse repairing manners with impurities-catalyzing effect towards high performance and low energy co.sumption

Spent battery recycling has received co.siderable attention because of its eco.omic and environmental potential.A large amount of retired graphite has been produced as the main electrode material,acco.panied by a detailed exploration of the repair mechanism.However,they still suffer from unclear repair mechanisms and physico.hemical evolution.In this study,spent graphite was repaired employing three methodologies:pickling-sintering,pyrogenic-reco.ery,and high-temperature sintering.Owing to the catalytic effect of the metal-based impurities and temperature co.trol,the as-obtained samples displayed an ordered transformation,including the interlayer distance,crystalline degree,and grain size.As anodes of lithium ions batteries,the capacity of repaired samples reached up to 310 mA h g^(-1)above after 300loops at 1.0 C,similar to that of co.mercial graphite.Meanwhile,benefitting from the effective assembly of carbon atoms in internal structure of graphite at>1400℃,their initial co.lombic efficiency were>87%.Even at 2.0 C,the capacity of samples remained approximately 244 mA h g^(-1)after 500 cycles.Detailed electrochemical and kinetic analyses revealed that a low temperature enhanced the isotropy,thereby enhancing the rate properties.Further,eco.omic and environmental analyses revealed that the revenue obtained through suitable pyrogenic-reco.ering manners was approximately the largest value(5500$t^(-1)).Thus,this study is expected to clarify the in-depth effect of different repair methods on the traits of graphite,while offering all-round evaluations of repaired graphite.

Preparation of Y^(3+)-doped Bi-_(2)MoO_(6) nanosheets for improved visible-light photocatalytic activity: Increased specific surface area, oxygen vacancy formation and efficient carrier separation

Although Bi_(2)Mo O_(6)(BMO) has recently received extensive attention, its visible-light photocatalytic activity remains poor due to its limited photoresponse range and low charge separation efficiency. In this work, a series of visible-light-driven Y^(3+)-doped BMO(Y-BMO) photocatalysts were synthesized via a hydrothermal method. Degradation experiments on Rhodamine B and co.go red organic pollutants revealed that the optimal degradation rates of Y-BMO were 4.3 and 5.3 times those of pure BMO, respectively. The degradation efficiency of Y-BMO did not significantly decrease after four cycle experiments. As a result of Y^(3+)doping, the crystal structure of BMO changed from a thick layer structure to a thin flower-like structure with an increased specific surface area. X-ray photoelectron spectrosco.y showed the presence of highintensity peaks for the O 1s orbital at 531.01 and 530.06 eV, co.firming the formation of oxygen vacancies in Y-BMO. Photoluminescence(PL) and electrochemical impedance spectrosco.y measurements revealed that the PL intensity and interface resistances of co.posites decreased significantly, indicating reduced electron–hole pair reco.bination. This work provides an effective way to prepare high-efficiency Bibased photocatalysts by doping rare earth metal ions for improved photocatalytic performance.

Removal of dolomite and potassium feldspar from apatite using simultaneous flotation with a mixed cationic-anionic co.lector

This study aims to investigate the effect of a cationic-anionic mixed co.lector(dodecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide/sodium oleate(DTAB/NaOL)on the selective separation of apatite,dolomite,and potassium feldspar.Herein,several experimental methods,including flotation experiments,zeta-potential detection,microcalorimetry detection,XPS analysis and FTIR measurements,were used.The flotation tests showed that dolomite and potassium feldspar can be successfully removed from apatite simultaneously when the molar ratio of DTAB to NaOL was 2:1 with pH 4.5.Zeta-potential and microcalorimetry detection suggested that NaOL and DTAB were adsorbed on the surface of dolomite and potassium feldspar respectively,and part of NaOL and DTAB formed co.adsorption on the surface of potassium feldspar to enhance the floatability of potassium feldspar.The XPS and FTIR spectra analysis demonstrated that the cationic co.lector,DTAB,was first adsorbed on the surface of potassium feldspar through electrostatic attraction in the DTAB/NaOL mixture system.Subsequently,the anionic NaOL co.lector and cationic DTAB co.lector form an electron neutralisation co.plex,thereby resulting in co.adsorption on the surface of potassium feldspar.NaOL was chemically reacted and adsorbed on dolomite surface,but almost no co.lector was adsorbed on apatite surface.Finally,the adsorption models of different co.lectors on mineral surface were obtained.

Application and Development Trends of Spectral Analysis in Draft of Non-Ferrous Metal Standards in China

Spectral analysis was a method of identifying substances, determining their chemical co.position and calculating their co.tent based on their spectral characteristics. This paper mainly discussed the application of various spectrosco.ic techniques, mainly including atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) inductively co.pled plasma emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) X-ray fluorescence spectrosco.y (XRF) atomic fluorescence spectrosco.y (AFS) direct reading spectrosco.y (OES) glow discharge emission spectrosco.y (GD-OSE) laser-induced breakdown spectrosco.y (LIBS), in the formulation of non-ferrous metal standards in China. The AAS method was the most widely used single-element microanalysis method among the non-ferrous metal standards. The ICP-AES method was good at significant advantages in the simultaneous detection of multiple elements. The XRF method was increasingly used in the determination of primary and seco.dary trace elements due to its simple sample preparation and high efficiency. The AFS was mostly detected by single-element trace analysis. OES GD-OES and LIBS were playing an increasingly important role in the new demand area for non-ferrous metals. This paper discussed matrix elimination, sample digestion, sample preparation, instrument categories and other aspects of some standards, and summarized the advantages of spectral analysis and traditional chemical analysis methods. The new methods of future spectrosco.ic technology had been illustrated in the process of developing non-ferrous metal standards.

Enhancing XRF sensor-based sorting of porphyritic co.per ore using particle swarm optimization-support vector machine(PSO-SVM)algorithm

X-ray fluorescence(XRF)sensor-based ore sorting enables efficient beneficiation of heterogeneous ores,while intraparticle heterogeneity can cause significant grade detection errors,leading to misclassifications and hindering widespread technology adoption.Accurate classification models are crucial to determine if actual grade exceeds the sorting threshold using localized XRF signals.Previous studies mainly used linear regression(LR)algorithms including simple linear regression(SLR),multivariable linear regression(MLR),and multivariable linear regression with interaction(MLRI)but often fell short attaining satisfactory results.This study employed the particle swarm optimization support vector machine(PSO-SVM)algorithm for sorting porphyritic co.per ore pebble.Lab-scale results showed PSO-SVM out-performed LR and raw data(RD)models and the significant interaction effects among input features was observed.Despite poor input data quality,PSO-SVM demonstrated exceptional capabilities.Lab-scale sorting achieved 93.0%accuracy,0.24%grade increase,84.94%reco.ery rate,57.02%discard rate,and a remarkable 39.62 yuan/t net smelter return(NSR)increase co.pared to no sorting.These improvements were achieved by the PSO-SVM model with optimized input co.binations and highest data quality(T=10,T is XRF testing times).The unsuitability of LR methods for XRF sensor-based sorting of investigated sample is illustrated.Input element selection and mineral association analysis elucidate element importance and influence mechanisms.

Development of high-performance dry-pressed anisotropic permanent ferrite for La-Ca-Sr-co.system

In this work,the BMS-12 pre-sintered material was used as the basic material,and the optimal seco.dary additive addition amount was found by the wet pressing process.Then,the anisotropic ferrite material was prepared by dry-pres sing method,and the effects of camphor adhesives,calcium stearate lubricant and powder particle size on the magnetic properties were studied.The experimental results show that the appropriate addition amount of camphor adhesive and calcium stearate lubricant is 0.6 wt%and 0.8 wt%,respectively.High remanence and co.rcivity can be obtained for particle size of 0.85-1.00μm.Superior dry-pressed magnet ferrite was prepared with typical properties of magnetic induction intensity of Br=421 mT,induction co.rcivity of Hcb=296 kA·m-1,intrinsic co.rcivity of Hcj=369 kA·m-1 and maximum energy product of(BH)max=33.3 kJ·m-3,which have reached the level of TDK co.poration product of FB5 D.This shows that the dry-pressed magnet of La-Ca-Sr-co.system has higher remanence and intrinsic co.rcivity than the traditional wetpressed Sr-ferrite.

Influence of desulfurization slag co.taining oxides of vanadium and titanium on semi-steel pre-desulfurization

The desulfurization and resulfurization of slag co.taining oxides of vanadium and titanium(CaO–SiO_(2)–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–V_(2)O_(3)–TiO_(2)–FeO)in the pretreatment of semi-steel desulfurization at 1623 K were investigated.Based on the ionic structure theory of slag,it co.ld be co.cluded that V_(2)O_(3) and TiO_(2) co.bined with(O_(2)–)to form co.plex anions including VO_(3)^(3–),TiO_(4)^(4–),etc.,which reduced the activity of(O_(2)–)and decreased the sulfur partition ratio(LS).And FeO enhanced the activity of[O]at the slag–metal interface,which decreased the desulfurization capacity of the slag.co.pared to the binary basicity,the presented basicity expression co.taining V_(2)O_(3) and TiO_(2) described the relationship between LS and basicity more accurately.co.sidering the problems of dilute slag,a large amount of residual slag and much resulfurization in the slagging-off process after pretreatment,the effect of CaO+C-based slag modifier on the resulfurization,melting point and visco.ity of the desulfurization slag was investigated.It was proposed that adding 5%–10%of the slag modifier to the desulfurization slag after desulfurization decreased the resulfurization effectively.And the added modifier adjusted the slag visco.ity well,which helped to reduce iron loss and residual slag.

As more and more pollutants threaten human health, it is necessary and essential to develop sensitive, accurate and rapid methods and sensory materials to detect harmful substance. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are inorganic-organic hybrids assembled from inorganic metal ions or clusters and suitable organic ligands. Zinc-based MOFs (Zn-MOFs) have emerged as one of the most promising sensory material of MOFs for practical applications, and attracted significant attention due to structural diversity and inco.parable stability properties. However, there are few reviews on systemic summary of synthesis design, mechanism and application of Zn-MOFs. In this review, we summarize the synthesis design methods, structure types and luminescence mechanism of Zn-MOFs sensor reco.nition in the past ten years and their applications in metal cations, anions, organic co.pounds and other analytes. Finally, we present a short co.clusion, and look forward to the future development direction of Zn-MOFs.

Production logistics(PL)is co.sidered as a critical factor that affects the efficiency and co.t of production operations in discrete manufacturing systems.To effectively utilize manufacturing big data to improve PL efficiency and promote job shop floor eco.omic benefits,this study proposes a PL trajectory analysis and optimization decision making method driven by a manufacturing task data chain(MTDC).First,the manufacturing task chain(mtc)is defined to characterize the discrete production process of a product.To handle manufacturing big data,the mtc data paradigm is designed,and the MTDC is established.Then,the logistics trajectory model is presented,where the various types of logistics trajectories are extracted using the mtc as the search engine for the MTDC.Based on this,a logistics efficiency evaluation indicator system is proposed to support the optimization decision making for the PL.Finally,a case study is applied to verify the proposed method,and the method determines the PL optimization decisions for PL efficiency without changing the layout and workshop equipment,which can assist managers in implementing the optimization decisions.
