Influence of the Acoustic Liner in Large Eddy Simulation of Longitudinal Thermoacoustic Instability in a Model Annular combustor

Although extensive efforts have been made to dampen the thermoacoustic instability,successfully controlling the pressure oscillations in modern gas turbines or aeroengines remains *** influence of the acoustic liner on the longitudinal thermoacoustic mode in a model annular combustor is investigated by Large Eddy Simulation(LES) in this *** result of the self-excited longitudinal thermoacoustic instability without the liner agrees well with the frequency and acoustic analysis of the pressure mode based on experimental *** different bias flow velocities of the liner located downstream of the combustor are then *** results reveal that the existence of the liner influences not only the acoustic field but also the flow *** the bias velocity is large,it leads to intense turbulence-induced fluctuations,and the pressure oscillation is modulated *** shows that the weak coupling between flow and pressure oscillations plays a significant role in the onset of the intermittency of a thermoacoustic *** on the dynamic analysis of the thermoacoustic system with the acoustic liner,this intermittency is caused by the influence of the flow field on the flame-acoustic ***,a low-order modeling method based on Van der Pol(VdP) oscillator with additive stochastic forcing is conducted to reproduce the evolving dynamics of the thermoacoustic *** the numerical cases demonstrated in this work are relatively simpler than those in a practical combustion system,the results are helpful for us to understand the effect of the acoustic liner and show the attractive potential to apply this device to suppress thermoacoustic instability.

Bear bile has been a valuable and effective medicinal material in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for over 13 ***,the current practice of obtaining it through bear farming is under scrutiny for its adverse impact on bear ***,we present a new approach for creating artificial bear bile(ABB)as a high-quality and sustainable alternative to natural bear *** study addresses the scientific challenges of creating bear bile alternatives through interdisciplinary collaborations across various fields,including resources,chemistry,biology,medicine,pharmacology,and TCM.A comprehensive efficacy assessment system that bridges the gap between TCM and modern medical terminology has been established,allowing for the systematic screening of therapeutic *** the utilization of chemical synthesis and enzyme engineering technologies,our research has achieved the environmentally friendly,large-scale production of bear bile therapeutic compounds,as well as the optimization and recomposition of ABB *** resulting ABB not only closely resembles natural bear bile in its composition but also offers advantages such as consistent product quality,availability of raw materials,and independence from threatened or wild *** preclinical efficacy evaluations have demonstrated the equivalence of the therapeutic effects from ABB and those from commercially available drained bear bile(DBB).Furthermore,preclinical toxicological assessment and phase I clinical trials show that the safety of ABB is on par with that of the currently used *** innovative strategy can serve as a new research paradigm for developing alternatives for other endangered TCMs,thereby strengthening the integrity and sustainability of TCM.

This paper focuses on the laminar flame instability of three high molecular weight n-alkanes,namely n-hexane,n-octane,and *** experiment was carried out in a constant volume combustion bomb to get the flame *** critical radius under different conditions was extracted using the image processing *** with the existing critical Peclet number theory,the dominant factors of flame instability under current conditions for three n-alkanes can be figured ***,the average cell size(equivalent cell radius,R_(cell))was extracted to provide quantitative analysis of the flame cellular structure,based on the method developed in this *** theoretical R_(cell)were also calculated and compared with the experimental results to validate the proposed method.

conductive grease has been considered as a potential solution in addressing electric erosion issue inside motor *** the conductive grease performance,especially the electric and tribological behaviour is crucial for its *** paper combines bulk grease characterization and contact film study considering both electrical and tribological loading *** results show that the electric performance for the selected conductive grease sample is electric field dependent,including both frequency and voltage *** film impedance inside the contact area is closely related to the external electric field,running condition,and lubrication *** following film impedance calculation tells that not only bulk grease electric parameters,but the contact parameter,lubricant film contour and lubrication condition should be considered when performing the overall bearing electrical modelling.

Assessing cutter-rock interaction during TBM tunnelling in granite:Large-scale standing rotary cutting tests and 3D DEM simulations

The widespread utilisation of tunnel boring machines(TBMs)in underground construction engineering requires a detailed investigation of the cutter-rock *** this paper,we conduct a series of largescale standing rotary cutting tests on granite in conjunction with high-fidelity numerical simulations based on a particle-type discrete element method(DEM)to explore the effects of key cutting parameters on the TBM cutter performance and the distribution of cutter-rock contact *** assessment results of cutter performance obtained from the cutting tests and numerical simulations reveal similar dependencies on the key cutting *** specifically,the normal and rolling forces exhibit a positive correlation with penetration but are slightly influenced by the cutting *** contrast,the side force decreases as the cutting radius ***,the side force shows a positive relationship with the penetration for smaller cutting radii but tends to become negative as the cutting radius *** cutter's relative effectiveness in rock breaking is significantly impacted by the penetration but shows little dependency on the cutting ***,an optimal penetration is identified,leading to a low boreability index and specific energy.A combined Hertz-Weibull function is developed to fit the cutter-rock contact stress distribution obtained in DEM simulations,whereby an improved CSM(colorado School of Mines)model is proposed by replacing the original monotonic cutting force distribution with this combined Hertz-Weibull *** proposed model outperforms the original CSM model as demonstrated by a comparison of the estimated cutting forces with those from the tests/*** findings from this work that advance our understanding of TBM cutter performance have important implications for improving the efficiency and reliability of TBM tunnelling in granite.

Hydrometallurgical recovery of lithium carbonate and iron phosphate from blended cathode materials of spent lithium-ion battery

The recycling of cathode materials from spent lithium-ion battery has attracted extensive attention,but few research have focused on spent blended cathode *** reality,the blended materials of lithium iron phosphate and ternary are widely used in electric vehicles,so it is critical to design an effective recycling *** this study,an efficient method for recovering Li and Fe from the blended cathode materials of spent LiFePO_(4)and LiNi_(x)co_(y)Mn_(1-x-y)O_(2)batteries is ***,87%A1 was removed by alkali ***,91.65%Li,72.08%Ni,64.6%co and 71.66%Mn were further separated by selective leaching with H_(2)SO_(4)and H_(2)O_(2).Li,Ni,co and Mn in solution were recovered in the form of Li_(2)co_(3)and hydroxide ***,98.38%Fe was leached from the residue by two stage process,and it is recovered as FePO_(4)·2H_(2)O with a purity of 99.5%by *** and P were present in FePO_(4)·2H_(2)O in amounts of 28.34%and 15.98%,***,the drift and control of various components were discussed,and cost-benefit analysis was used to assess the feasibility of potential application.

Analysis of destructive effect of Zn on carbon brick and way of Zn into carbon brick

The service life of a blast furnace depends largely on the degree of damage to the carbon brick in the *** brick and ramming material in the hearth of a 1780 m3 blast furnace after shutdown were sampled and *** was found that the substances in the cracks of the carbon brick near and above the taphole were ZnO and Zn_(2)SiO_(4),whereas the substances in the cracks of the carbon brick below the taphole were *** reaction of Zn with co,SiO_(2),and Fes generates ZnO,Zn_(2)SiO_(4),and ZnS,resulting in volume expansion,which is an important reason for the cracking of carbon ***,several obvious Zn vapor flow channels were found in the ramming material,through which Zn vapor could enter the carbon brick,causing damage to the carbon *** the compactness of the ramming material is beneficial to preventing Zn vapor from entering the carbon brick through the voids in the ramming material,reducing the destructive effect of Zn on the carbon brick and further extending the service life of the blast furnace.

A Novel Defender-Attacker-Defender Model for Resilient Distributed Generator Planning with Network Reconfiguration and Demand Response

To improve the resilience of a distribution system against extreme weather,a fuel-based distributed generator(DG)allocation model is proposed in this *** this model,the DGs are placed at the planning *** an extreme event occurs,the controllable generators form temporary microgrids(MGs)to restore the load ***,a demand response program(DRP)mitigates the imbalance between the power supply and demand during extreme *** cope with the fault uncertainty,a robust optimization(RO)method is applied to reduce the long-term investment and short-term operation *** optimization is formulated as a tri-level defenderattacker-defender(DAD)*** the first level,decision-makers work out the DG allocation scheme;at the second level,the attacker finds the optimal attack strategy with maximum damage;and at the third level,restoration measures,namely distribution network reconfiguration(DNR)and demand response are *** problem is solved by the nested column and constraint generation(NC&CG)method and the model is validated using an IEEE 33-node *** studies validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed model according to the enhanced resilience and reduced cost.
