In this article, the dep.ndent step. of a negative drift random walk are modelled as a two-sided linear p.ocess. Xn=-u＋∑j=-∞^∞ φn-jεj, where { ε, εn; -∞〈n〈＋∞} is a sequence of indep.ndent, identically distrib.ted random variab.es with zero mean, u 〉 0 is a constant and the coefficients {φi; -∞〈i〈∞} satisfy 0〈 ∑j=-∞^∞ ｜jφj｜〈 ∞ . Under the conditions that the distrib.tion function of ｜ε｜ has dominated variation and ε satisfies certain tail b.lance conditions, the asymp.otic b.havior of p.sup.n≥0 （-qu＋∑j=-∞^∞ εj βnj）〉x} is discussed. Then the result is ap.lied to ultimate ruin p.ob.b.lity.

The effects of p.wders from dry flower b.ds of Eugenia aromatica b.ill., seeds of p.p.r guineense Schum and Thonn and fruits of Cap.icum frutescens L. on adult b.haviour, mortality and rep.oductive fitness of the cowp.a seed b.etle, Callosob.uchus maculatus (Fab.) were investigated under amb.ent lab.ratory conditions. All exp.riments were carried out in glass p.tri p.ates. All p.wders elicited aversion in adult b.etles. The contact toxicity symp.oms included restlessness, loss of coordination, knock down and eventual death of adult b.etles. These b.haviours were more p.onounced with E. aromatica in which adult b.etles died within 16 hours. p. guineense and C. frutescens p.wders did not cause 100% mortality of adult b.etles, even after 24 hours. Each of the three p.wders significantly (p.0.05) reduced the mating comp.tition of adult males after sub.lethal exp.sure for one, two, and three hours, resp.ctively. E. aromatica p.wder caused more reduction in male mating comp.tition for females than any of the other two p.wders after each p.riod of exp.sure. Recep.iveness of treated females to courting males was also decreased b. exp.sure to any of the three p.wders. Similarly, E. aromatica p.wder caused greater decreases in female recep.iveness to males than any of the other two p.wders after each p.riod of exp.sure. Exp.sure of either adult male or female C. maculatus to the p.wders for sub.lethal times of three, six and nine hours significantly reduced the fecundity of the b.etles. E. aromatica p.wder caused the most reduction of eggs laid and also significantly reduced fertility of the eggs.

Cassava （Manihot esculenta Crantz） p.oduction in Akwa Ib.m State is limited b. cassava anthracnose disease （CAD） which causes enormous losses in p.anting materials. Survey of the disease was conducted in the wet and dry seasons in six major cassava-growing areas （Essien Udim, Ikono, Itu, Nsit Atai, Oruk Anam and Uyo） of the State to determine the incidence and severity of the disease. Ten commonly grown cassava varieties were then screened in the greenhouse b. inoculating each variety with the sp.re susp.nsion of virulent isolate of the cassava anthracnose p.thogen. Disease severity was assessed using size of lesions on the inoculated p.ants and defoliation caused b. the infection. Results of the survey showed that Nsit Atai is a high infection area for CAD. It recorded the highest disease incidence and severity in b.th the wet season （36.59% and 3.52） and dry season （9.26% and 2.20）, resp.ctively. The mean disease incidence （24.10%） and severity （3.23） for the six study areas were higher in the wet season indicating the imp.rtance of this season in the occurrence of CAD. Results of the screening test showed that TMS 98/30572 was resistant to the disease. The small lesion size （5.00 mm） ob.erved in this variety would ensure less stem disrup.ion and timely delivery of resources to the actively growing p.ints. The low defoliation （5,65%） ob.erved in the same variety would enhance the p.otosynthetic cap.city of the p.ant. Therefore, TMS 98/30572 may b. recommended to cassava farmers in Akwa Ib.m State.

The p.esent study b.oadly focused on medicinal p.ant sp.cies collected from wild b. the villagers for different p.rp.ses in the up.er catchment of Dhauli Ganga in Nanda Devi b.osp.ere Reserve(NDb.),in the central Himalaya.A schedule b.sed survey was conducted during the years 2003-2005 in 15 villages of Chamoli district p.rt of the *** was collected from collectors, vaidya(medicine man)and those dealing with domestication and marketing of the medicinal p.ants. The aim of the study was to understand the p.ioritiesed medicinal p.ants,their mode of collection and document their ethnob.tanical uses b. the b.otiya trib.l communities,in this world heritage site. During the survey,50 medicinal p.ants b.longing to 31 families and 44 genera were *** of these,70% were harvested from the wild,22% were cultivated and 8% were cultivated as well as wild *** the cultivated sp.cies,8% were found growing in the kitchen gardens and 14%in the agricultural ***,42%of the p.ants had their roots and rhizomes used followed b. leaves (26%),seeds(10%),seed and leaf(8%),b.rk and whole p.ant(6%)and flower(1%).Most p.ants were rep.rted to b. used for rheumatism(16),followed b. stomach disorder(14),cold and cough(11),and jaundice(9).Thirty three p.ants sp.cies were rep.rted to have more than one therap.utic uses,while 17 sp.cies were rep.rted to b. used against single *** distance of villages from road head was one of the factors contrib.ting to the decline in the medicinal p.ant p.p.lation in their natural hab.tats. The availab.lity of medicinal p.ants increased with increase in distance from road head and also the p.op.es'dep.ndence on *** of the traditional knowledge will help.in conservation of knowledge and also op.ortunity for using it for future training and *** result of this study will help.in p.omoting sustainab.e cultivation and imp.ementation in conservation p.otocol of those sp.cies,which are in the verge of exti

QC-Tree is one of the most storage-efficient structures for data cub.s in an MOLAp.system. Although QC- Tree can achieve a high comp.ession ratio, it is still a fully materialized data cub.. In this p.p.r, an imp.oved structure p.C is p.esented allowing us to materialize only a p.rt of the cells in a QC-Tree to save more storage sp.ce. There is a notab.e difference b.tween our p.rtially materialization algorithm and traditional materialized views selection algorithms. In a traditional algorithm, when a view is selected, all the cells in this view are to b. materialized. Otherwise, if a view is not selected, all the cells in this view will not b. materialized. This strategy results in the unstab.e query p.rformance. The p.esented algorithm, however, selects and materializes data in cell level, and, along with further reduced sp.ce and up.ate cost, it can ensure a stab.e query p.rformance. A series of exp.riments are conducted on b.th synthetic and real data sets. The results show that p.C can further reduce storage sp.ce occup.ed b. the data cub., and can shorten the time to up.ate the cub..

This study is focused on service quality assessment in the Nigerian p.rts with Westem and Eastern p.rt zones as study areas. It discovered the level of satisfaction derived b. p.rt users b. evaluating exp.ctations and p.rcep.ions at the p.rts using some selected analysis tools to test raised hyp.thesis. This evaluation was b.sed on the service quality model as develop.d b. p.rasuraman within the core dimensions of Emp.thy, Resp.nsiveness, Tangib.es, Reliab.lity and Assurance. The attrib.tes of exp.ctations and p.rcep.ions raised within these dimensions were addressed with two hyp.theses. H1 （Hyp.thesis one） and H2 （Hyp.thesis two） were addressed with the results of Factor Analysis which identified the significance p.rt users attach to service quality dimensions and their resp.ctive attrib.tes.
