SAGeLogE: A decision Support System for Students’ Accommodation Management

SAGeLogE is the acronym of “Système d’Aide à la Gestion de Logements étudiants” which means student accommodation management support system. It’s a multi-criteria decision support system designed to manage accommodation allocation for university students. Within SAGeLogE we developed the “Minimum of ranks” (MIrA) aggregation method. MIrA method involves the application of multi-criteria decision-making methods (MCDM) to initially obtain different ranking. Thus, we chose the Weighted Sum Method (WSM), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) methods to be implemented in SAGeLogE. To prioritize the weights of criteria, the Anality Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used. The interest of using the MIrA method was to obtain a compromised ranking coming from these three multi-criteria decision-making methods (WSM, TOPSIS, CoCoSo). So, we know that the accommodation to be allocated to students is always lower than the number of accommodation requests received by the organization. Thus, SAGeLogE proposed a technique that makes it easier to select students ranked by the multi-criteria decision-making and MIrA methods according to a method of calculation of quota of available accommodations within university residences. Finally, university accommodation managers had a wide choice of student ranking according to the methods implemented in SAGeLogE. The SAGeLogE experiment was carried out on the site of Toamasina University in Madagascar for an academic year with 2026 student accommodation applications received. The experimentation showed the ability of SAGeLogE to achieve the result.

Accurately measuring meteorological visibility is an important factor in road, sea, rail, and air transportation safety, especially under visibility-reducing weather events. This paper deals with the application of Machine Learning methods to estimate meteorological visibility in dusty conditions, from the power levels of commercial microwave links and weather data including temperature, dew point, wind speed, wind direction, and atmospheric pressure. Three well-known Machine Learning methods are investigated: decision Trees, random Forest, and Support Vector Machines. The correlation coefficient and the mean square error, between the visibility distances estimated by Machine Learning methods and those provided by Burkina Faso weather services are computed. Except for the SVM method, all the other methods give a correlation coefficient greater than 0.90. The random Forest method presents the best result both in terms of correlation coefficient (0.97) and means square error (0.60). For this last method, the best variables that explain the model are selected by evaluating the weight of each variable in the model. The best performance is obtained by considering the attenuation of the microwave signal and the dew point.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a synthesis method of parametric sensitivity constrained linear quadratic (SCLQ) controller for an uncertain linear time invariant (LTI) system. System sensitivity to parameter variation is handled through an additional quadratic trajectory parametric sensitivity term in the standard LQ criterion to be minimized. The main purpose here is to find a suboptimal linear quadratic control taking explicitly into account the parametric uncertainties. The paper main contribution is threefold: 1) A descriptor system approach is used to show that the underlying singular linear-quadratic optimal control problem leads to a non-standard riccati equation. 2) A solution to the proposed control problem is then given based on a connection to the so-called Lur'e matrix equations. 3) A synthesis method of multiple parametric SCLQ controllers is proposed to cover the whole parametric uncertainty while degrading as less as possible the intrinsic robustness properties of each local linear quadratic controller. Some examples are presented in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Specific modifications of the usual canonical commutation relations between position and momentumoperators have been proposed in the literature in order to implement the idea of the existence of a minimal observablelength. Here, we study a consequence of this proposal in relativistic quantum mechanics by solving in the momentumspace representation the Klein-Gordon oscillator in arbitrary dimensions. The exact bound states spectrum and thecorresponding momentum space wave function are obtained. Following Chang et al. (Phys. rev. D 65 (2002) 125027),we discuss constraint that can be placed on the minimal length by measuring the energy levels of an electron in a penningtrap.

Considering phase changes associated with a high-temperature molten material cooled down from the outside,this work presents an improvement of the modelling and the numerical simulation of such processes for an application pertaining to the safety of light water nuclear *** a core meltdown accident,the behaviour of the core melt(aka corium)into a steel vessel is of tremendous importance when evaluating the vessel *** correctly the heat fluxes requires the numerical simulation of the interaction between the liquid material and its solid counterpart which forms during the solidification process,but also may melt *** simulate this configuration,encoun-tered in various industrial applications,one considers a bi-phase model constituted by a liquid phase in contact and interaction with its solid *** liquid phase may solidify in presence of low energetic source,while the solid phase may melt due to an intense heat flux from the high-temperature *** the frame of the in-house legacy code,several simplifying assumptions(0D multi-layer discretization,instantaneous heat transfer via a quadratic temperature profile in solids)are made for the modelling of such phase *** the present work,these shortcomings are illustrated and further overcome by solving a 2D heat conduction model in the solid by a mixed raviart-Thomas finite element method coupled to the liquid phase due to heat and mass exchanges through Stefan *** liquid phase is modeled with a 0D multi-layer *** 0D-liquid and 2D-solid mod-els are coupled by a Stefan like phase change interface *** sanity checks are performed to assess the validity of the approach on 1D and 2D academical configurations for which exact or reference solutions are *** more advanced situations(genu-ine multi-dimensional phase changes and an"industrial-like scenario")are simulated to verify the appropriate behavior of the obtained coupled simulation schem

Borrowing ideas from elliptic complex geometry, we approach M-theory compactifications on real fibrations. Precisely, we explore real toric equations rather than complex ones exploited in F-theory and related dual models. These geometries have been built by moving real toric manifolds over real bases. Using topological changing behaviors, we unveil certain data associated with gauge sectors relying on affine lie symmetries.

We let a set of beam splitters of vacuum mode with a chosen transmittance parameter η in interaction with a separable coherent *** model induces the production of an attenuated quantum channels based on entangled optical ***,the decoherence effect is exploited positively here to generate such kind of quantum ***,the amplitude damping and the entanglement amount of these produced channels are enhanced thereafter by a probabilistic quasi amplification process using again a 50 : 50 beam splitter.

Using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave FP-LAPW method within local density ap-proximation LDA, we have studied positron diffusion and surface emission in Cd-based semiconductors. This requires the calculation of electron and positron band structures. In the absence of experimental and theoretical data for CdX (X=S,Se,Te) we have treated the Si, which has been studied by several authors, as a test case. Predictive results on positron effective masses, deformation potentials, positron work functions, diffusion constants and positron mobilities are presented for CdX (X=S, Se, Te). Our calculated data for Si are compared with experimental and recent theoretical results.
