An Industrial Intrusion Detection Method Based on Hybrid Convolutional Neural Networks with Improved TCN

Network intrusion detection systems(NIDS)based on deep learning have continued to make significant ***,the following challenges remain:on the one hand,simply applying only Temporal Convolutional Networks(TCNs)can lead to models that ignore the impact of network traffic features at different scales on the detection *** the other hand,some intrusion detection methods considermulti-scale information of traffic data,but considering only forward network traffic information can lead to deficiencies in capturing multi-scale temporal *** address both of these issues,we propose a hybrid Convolutional Neural Network that supports a multi-output strategy(BONUS)for industrial internet intrusion ***,we create a multiscale Temporal Convolutional Network by stacking TCN of different scales to capture the multiscale information of network ***,we propose a bi-directional structure and dynamically set the weights to fuse the forward and backward contextual information of network traffic at each scale to enhance the model’s performance in capturing the multi-scale temporal features of network *** addition,we introduce a gated network for each of the two branches in the proposed method to assist the model in learning the feature representation of each *** experiments reveal the effectiveness of the proposed approach on two publicly available traffic intrusion detection datasets named UNSW-NB15 and NSL-KDD with F1 score of 85.03% and 99.31%,respectively,which also validates the effectiveness of enhancing the model’s ability to capture multi-scale temporal features of traffic data on detection performance.

Eye health has become a global health concern and attracted broad *** the years,researchers have proposed many state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks(CNNs)to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing ocular diseases efficiently and ***,most existing methods were dedicated to constructing sophisticated CNNs,inevitably ignoring the trade-off between performance and model *** alleviate this paradox,this paper proposes a lightweight yet efficient network architecture,mixeddecomposed convolutional network(MDNet),to recognise ocular *** MDNet,we introduce a novel mixed-decomposed depthwise convolution method,which takes advantage of depthwise convolution and depthwise dilated convolution operations to capture low-resolution and high-resolution patterns by using fewer computations and fewer *** conduct extensive experiments on the clinical anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT),LAG,university of California San Diego,and CIFAR-100 *** results show our MDNet achieves a better trade-off between the performance and model complexity than efficient CNNs including MobileNets and ***,our MDNet outperforms MobileNets by 2.5%of accuracy by using 22%fewer parameters and 30%fewer computations on the AS-OCT dataset.

Reducing idleness in financial cloud services via multi-objective evolutionary reinforcement learning based load balancer

In recent years, various companies have started to shift their data services from traditional data centers to the cloud. One of the major motivations is to save on operational costs with the aid of cloud elasticity. This paper discusses an emerging need from financial services to reduce the incidence of idle servers retaining very few user connections, without disconnecting them from the server side. This paper considers this need as a bi-objective online load balancing problem. A neural network based scalable policy is designed to route user requests to varied numbers of servers for the required elasticity. An evolutionary multi-objective training framework is proposed to optimize the weights of the policy. Not only is the new objective of idleness reduced by over 130% more than traditional industrial solutions, but the original load balancing objective itself is also slightly improved. Extensive simulations with both synthetic and real-world data help reveal the detailed applicability of the proposed method to the emergent problem of reducing idleness in financial services.

Classification and Comprehension of Software Requirements Using Ensemble Learning

The software development process mostly depends on accurately identifying both essential and optional ***,user needs are typically expressed in free-form language,requiring significant time and human resources to translate these into clear functional and non-functional *** address this challenge,various machine learning(ML)methods have been explored to automate the understanding of these requirements,aiming to reduce time and human ***,existing techniques often struggle with complex instructions and large-scale *** our study,we introduce an innovative approach known as the Functional and Non-functional Requirements Classifier(FNRC).By combining the traditional random forest algorithm with the Accuracy Sliding Window(ASW)technique,we develop optimal sub-ensembles that surpass the initial classifier’s accuracy while using fewer *** results demonstrate that our FNRC methodology performs robustly across different datasets,achieving a balanced Precision of 75%on the PROMISE dataset and an impressive Recall of 85%on the CCHIT *** datasets consistently maintain an F-measure around 64%,highlighting FNRC’s ability to effectively balance precision and recall in diverse *** findings contribute to more accurate and efficient software development processes,increasing the probability of achieving successful project outcomes.

Cyber-physical systems(CPSs)have emerged as an essential area of research in the last decade,providing a new paradigm for the integration of computational and physical units in modern control *** state estimation(RSE)is an indispensable functional module of ***,it has been demonstrated that malicious agents can manipulate data packets transmitted through unreliable channels of RSE,leading to severe estimation performance *** paper aims to present an overview of recent advances in cyber-attacks and defensive countermeasures,with a specific focus on integrity attacks against ***,two representative frameworks for the synthesis of optimal deception attacks with various performance metrics and stealthiness constraints are discussed,which provide a deeper insight into the vulnerabilities of ***,a detailed review of typical attack detection and resilient estimation algorithms is included,illustrating the latest defensive measures safeguarding RSE from ***,some prevalent attacks impairing the confidentiality and data availability of RSE are examined from both attackers'and defenders'***,several challenges and open problems are presented to inspire further exploration and future research in this field.

VPI:Vehicle Programming Interface for Vehicle Computing

The emergence of software-defined vehicles(SDVs),combined with autonomous driving technologies,has en-abled a new era of vehicle computing(VC),where vehicles serve as a mobile computing ***,the interdisci-plinary complexities of automotive systems and diverse technological requirements make developing applications for au-tonomous vehicles *** simplify the development of applications running on SDVs,we propose a comprehen-sive suite of vehicle programming interfaces(VPIs).In this study,we rigorously explore the nuanced requirements for ap-plication development within the realm of VC,centering our analysis on the architectural intricacies of the Open Vehicu-lar Data Analytics Platform(OpenVDAP).We then detail our creation of a comprehensive suite of standardized VPIs,spanning five critical categories:Hardware,Data,Computation,Service,and Management,to address these evolving pro-gramming *** validate the design of VPIs,we conduct experiments using the indoor autonomous vehicle,Ze-bra,and develop the OpenVDAP prototype *** comparing it with the industry-influential AUTOSAR interface,our VPIs demonstrate significant enhancements in programming efficiency,marking an important advancement in the field of SDV application *** also show a case study and evaluate its *** work highlights that VPIs significantly enhance the efficiency of developing applications on *** meet both current and future technologi-cal demands and propel the software-defined automotive industry toward a more interconnected and intelligent future.

When debugging encounters artificial intelligence: state of the art and open challenges

Both software debugging and artificial intelligence techniques are hot topics in the current field of software engineering. Debugging techniques, which comprise fault localization and program repair, are an important part of the software development lifecycle for ensuring the quality of software systems. As the scale and complexity of software systems grow, developers intend to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of software debugging via artificial intelligence(artificial intelligence for software debugging, AI4SD). On the other hand, many artificial intelligence models are being integrated into safety-critical areas such as autonomous driving, image recognition, and audio processing, where software debugging is highly necessary and urgent(software debugging for artificial intelligence, SD4AI). An AI-enhanced debugging technique could assist in debugging AI systems more effectively, and a more robust and reliable AI approach could further guarantee and support debugging techniques. Therefore, it is important to take AI4SD and SD4AI into consideration comprehensively. In this paper, we want to show readers the path, the trend, and the potential that these two directions interact with each other. We select and review a total of 165 papers in AI4SD and SD4AI for answering three research questions, and further analyze opportunities and challenges as well as suggest future directions of this cross-cutting area.

Neural network pruning is a popular approach to reducing the computational complexity of deep neural *** recent years,as growing evidence shows that conventional network pruning methods employ inappropriate proxy metrics,and as new types of hardware become increasingly available,hardware-aware network pruning that incorporates hardware characteristics in the loop of network pruning has gained growing attention,Both network accuracy and hardware efficiency(latency,memory consumption,etc.)are critical objectives to the success of network pruning,but the conflict between the multiple objectives makes it impossible to find a single optimal *** studies mostly convert the hardware-aware network pruning to optimization problems with a single *** this paper,we propose to solve the hardware-aware network pruning problem with Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms(MOEAs).Specifically,we formulate the problem as a multi-objective optimization problem,and propose a novel memetic MOEA,namely HAMP,that combines an efficient portfoliobased selection and a surrogate-assisted local search,to solve *** studies demonstrate the potential of MOEAs in providing simultaneously a set of alternative solutions and the superiority of HAMP compared to the state-of-the-art hardware-aware network pruning method.

The advent of web technology tools empowers users to liberally articulate their opinions across varied online platforms， culminating in the generation of a substantial corpus of invaluable yet unstructured data. This exposition scrutinizes the importance of harnessing this data， delving into the intricate process of refining and metamorphosing it for subsequent operations like classification and aspect-oriented sentiment analysis. The crux of the discourse centers on a thorough scrutiny of four data mining algorithms deployed for prognostication and categorization， providing insights into their efficacy within the domain of sentiment analysis.
