The increasingly stringent emissions regulations require that engine manufacturers must reduce emissions of particulate matter (PM). PM is made up mainly of carbon in the form of PM and complex compound that are absorbed into the PM particles. Significant quantities PM poses a threat to health. technologies available for PM reduction are heavily dependent on after-treatment systems, which are respectively active and passive. An active trap system requires a control unit to trigger and control the regeneration process (clean the trap system). The measurement of PM is crucial for the trap system to enable the fine judgment as to when to initiate the process. If the regeneration is too infrequent, the filter will block. The frequency of the regeneration and the life of the filter are compromised. Diesel engine particular matter prediction has always been a major challenge to the industry. A simple way to handle the PM estimation is to use black-box modelling as described in [J. Deng, B. Maass, R. Stobart, PM prediction in both steady state and transient operation of diesel engines, Proc IMechE, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2011, 225, in press, DOI: 10.1177/0954407011418029]. This method is used to estimate the PM successfully in both steady and transient engine operation condition. The main question is how robust and accurate the neural networks are for a regeneration trigger signal of diesel particular filters. In order to answer such a question, the robust test of PM estimation is carried out based on different composition of bio-diesel. In this paper, regular diesel fuel will be blended with up to 20% bio-diesel to test the effect of different fuel resources on particulate matter. Bio-diesel is often added to regular diesel fuel to improve the burning properties and reduce carbon emissions, also is alternative source of fuels. Cold-rolled advanced high-strength steel sheets have become the material of choice for the automotive industry because of their unique attributes of high strength and balanced mechanical ***-hydrogen gas jet cooling and water quenching are the most commonly used ultrafast cooling technologies for producing martensite-containing high-strength steel *** water quenching technology ensures the fastest industrial cooling rate of 1 000 K/s;therefore,it has the highest potential with respect to saving *** this study,the water quenching of a C-Mn-containing steel sheet is simulated during continuous annealing to investigate the effect of water quenching and tempering parameters on its mechanical *** results reveal that at low quenching temperatures,the strength of the steel sheet decreases as the soaking temperature ***,at high quenching temperatures,a high soaking temperature corresponds to increased strength after quenching,regardless of whether the material was austenitized in the single austenite zone or the inter-critical ***,a high quenching temperature always results in a high strength and a high yield ratio after ***-temperature overaging(tempering) considerably influences the yield strength and yield ratio,and the extent of this influence is correlated with the soaking temperature.

With the proposal of more requirements about the health management and the fault diagnosis on the battery system of new energy vehicles,traditional Battery Management System(BMS) cannot meet all new function requirements because of the limit of their structures.A framework of BMS integrated with online electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) measurement is proposed based on current online EIS measurement technologies and new concept of battery *** the advantage of online EIS acquisition,the new framework of BMS can achieve more health management and fault diagnosis *** prove the implementability of new functions on new framework,current EIS-based models and application based on EIS are *** directions of these models and applications are also proposed to achieve their better implementation on new BMS framework.

Aerodynamic noise characteristics of high-speed train foremost bogie section

This paper investigates the main scale analysis of the aerodynamic noise in the foremost bogie area by the large-eddy simulation(LES)and the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings(FW-H)*** mechanism of the aerodynamic noise in this area has been *** aerodynamic excitation results show that the bogie divides the bogie compartment into two cavities,each of which contains a large circulating flow and presents multi-peak characteristics in the frequency *** far-field noise results suggest that in the speed range of 200−350 km/h,the aerodynamic noise mechanism in the bogie area is the *** noise is the main noise mechanism in the foremost bogie area,and the bogie divides the bogie cabin into two cavities,thereby changing the aerodynamic noise in this area.

The need for efficient and reproducible development processes for sensor and perception systems is growing with their increased use in modern vehicles. Such processes can be achieved by using virtual test environments and virtual sensor models. In the context of this, the present paper documents the development of a sensor model for depth estimation of virtual three-dimensional scenarios. For this purpose, the geometric and algorithmic principles of stereoscopic camera systems are recreated in a virtual form. The model is implemented as a subroutine in the Epic Games Unreal Engine, which is one of the most common Game Engines. Its architecture consists of several independent procedures that enable a local depth estimation, but also a reconstruction of a whole three-dimensional scenery. In addition, a separate programme for calibrating the model is presented. In addition to the basic principles, the architecture and the implementation, this work also documents the evaluation of the model created. It is shown that the model meets specifically defined requirements for real-time capability and the accuracy of the evaluation. Thus, it is suitable for the virtual testing of common algorithms and highly automated driving functions.

As the advancement of driverless technology,together with information and communication technology moved at a fast pace,autonomous vehicles have attracted great attention from both industries and academic sectors during the past *** is evident that this emerging technology has great potential to improve the pedestrian safety on roads,mitigate traffic congestion,increase fuel efficiency,and reduce greenhouse gas ***,there is limited systematic research into the applications and public perceptions of autonomous vehicles in road *** purpose of this systematic literature review is to synthesise and analyse existing research on the applications,implications,and public perceptions of autonomous vehicles in road transportation *** is found that autonomous vehicles are the future of road transportation and that the negative perception of humans is rapidly changing towards autonomous ***,to fully deploy autonomous vehicles in a road transportation system,the existing road transportation infrastructure needs significant *** systematic literature review contributes to the comprehensive knowledge of autonomous vehicles and will assist transportation researchers and urban planners to understand the fundamental and conceptual framework of autonomous vehicle technologies in road transportation systems.
