Objective:Delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs to the brain has remained a major obstacle in the treatment of glioma,owing to the presence of the blood-brain barrier and the activity of P-gp,which pumps its substrate back into the systemic *** aim of the present study was to develop an intravenous formulation of HM30181 A(HM)to inhibit P-gp in the brain to effectively deliver paclitaxel(PTX)for the treatment of malignant ***:Two formulations of solubilized HM were designed on the basis of different solid dispersion strategies:i)spray-drying[polyvinlypyrrolidone(PVP)-HM]and ii)solvent evaporation[HP-β-cyclodextrin(cyclodextrin)-HM].The P-gp inhibition of these 2 formulations was assessed on the basis of rhodamine 123 uptake in cancer *** and brain pharmacokinetic parameters were also determined,and the antitumor effect of cyclodextrin-HM with PTX was evaluated in an orthotopic glioma xenograft mouse ***:Although both PVP-HM and cyclodextrin-HM formulations showed promising P-gp inhibition activity in vitro,cyclodextrin-HM had a higher maximum tolerated dose in mice than did *** study of cyclodextrin-HM revealed a plasma concentration plateau at 20 mg/kg,and the mice began to lose weight at doses above this ***-HM(10 mg/kg)administered with PTX at 10 mg/kg showed optimal antitumor activity in a mouse model,according to both tumor volume measurement and survival time(Phe intravenous co-administration of cyclodextrin-HM with PTX showed potent antitumor effects and therefore may have potential for glioma therapy in humans.

Two-dimensional material-based virus detection

Cost-effective, rapid, and accurate virus detection technologies play key roles in reducing viral transmission. Prompt and accurate virus detection enables timely treatment and effective quarantine of virus carrier, and therefore effectively reduces the possibility of large-scale spread. However, conventional virus detection techniques often suffer from slow response, high cost or sophisticated procedures. Recently, two-dimensional(2D) materials have been used as promising sensing platforms for the highperformance detection of a variety of chemical and biological substances. The unique properties of 2D materials, such as large specific area, active surface interaction with biomolecules and facile surface functionalization, provide advantages in developing novel virus detection technologies with fast response and high sensitivity. Furthermore, 2D materials possess versatile and tunable electronic, electrochemical and optical properties, making them ideal platforms to demonstrate conceptual sensing techniques and explore complex sensing mechanisms in next-generation biosensors. In this review, we first briefly summarize the virus detection techniques with an emphasis on the current efforts in fighting again COVID-19. Then, we introduce the preparation methods and properties of 2D materials utilized in biosensors, including graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs) and other 2D materials. Furthermore, we discuss the working principles of various virus detection technologies based on emerging 2D materials, such as field-effect transistor-based virus detection, electrochemical virus detection, optical virus detection and other virus detection techniques. Then, we elaborate on the essential works in 2D material-based high-performance virus detection. Finally, our perspective on the challenges and future research direction in this field is discussed.

In this paper, the estimation of joint distribution F(y,z) of (Y, Z) and the estimation in thelinear regression model Y = b′Z + ε for complete data are extended to that of the right censored data. Theregression parameter estimates of b and the variance of ε are weighted least square estimates with randomweights. The central limit theorems of the estimators are obtained under very weak conditions and the derivedasymptotic variance has a very simple form.

A LQP BASED INTERIOR PREDICTION-CORRECTION METHOD FOR NONLINEAR COMPLEMENTARITY PROBLEMS

To solve nonlinear complementarity problems （NCP）, at each iteration, the classical proximal point algorithm solves a well-conditioned sub-NCP while the Logarithmic-Quadratic Proximal （LQP） method solves a system of nonlinear equations （LQP system）. This paper presents a practical LQP method-based prediction-correction method for NCP. The predictor is obtained via solving the LQP system approximately under significantly relaxed restriction, and the new iterate （the corrector） is computed directly by an explicit formula derived from the original LQP method. The implementations are very easy to be carried out. Global convergence of the method is proved under the same mild assumptions as the original LQP method. Finally, numerical results for traffic equilibrium problems are provided to verify that the method is effective for some practical problems.

Tuning the microstructure for superb corrosion resistance in eutectic high entropy alloy

In this work,we demonstrate that the corrosion resistance of the FeCrNiCoNb_(0.5) eutectic high entropy alloy(EheA)can be tuned by controlling the size of its eutectic *** microstructure refinement,the EheA exhibits a superb corrosion resistance in 1 M NaCl in terms of a very low corrosion current density and an ultra-high transpassviation potential,which outperforms a variety of other heAs and conventional metals and *** the fundamental level,the microstructure refinement results in a rapid formation of a thick and compact passive film with less Cl-adsorption on the EheA,which results in significant enhancement in its corrosion *** outcome of our research provides important insights into the design of corrosion resistant chemically complex alloys.

fue＇s solution of classical elasticity in n-layered solids： Part 1, mathematical formulation

This paper presents the exact and complete fundamental singular solutions for the boundary value problem of a n-layered elastic solid of either transverse isotropy or isotropy subject to body force vector at the interior of the solid. The layer number n is an arbitrary nonnegative integer. The mathematical theory of linear elasticity is one of the most classical field theories in mechanics and physics. It was developed and established by many well-known scientists and mathematicians over 200years from 1638 to 1838. For more than 150years from 1838 to present, one of the remaining key tasks in classical elasticity has been the mathematical derivation and formulation of exact solutions for various boundary value problems of interesting in science and engineering. However, exact solutions and/or fundamental singular solutions in closed form are still very limited in literature. The boundary-value problems of classical elasticity in n-layered and graded solids are also one of the classical problems challenging many researchers. Since 1984, the author has analytically and rigorously examined the solutions of such classical problems using the classical mathematical tools such as Fourier integral transforms. In particular, he has derived the exact and complete fundamental singular solutions for elasticity of either isotropic or transversely isotropic layered solids subject to concentrated loadings. The solutions in n- layered or graded solids can be calculated with any controlled accuracy in association with classical numerical integration techniques. Findings of this solution formulation are further used in the companion paper for mathematical verification of the solutions and further applications for exact and complete solutions of other problems in elasticity, elastodynamics, poroelasticty and thermoelasticity. The mathematical formulations and solutions have been named by other researchers as Yue＇s approach, Yue＇s treatment, Yue＇s method and Yue＇s solution.

Wearable patches for transdermal drug delivery

Transdermal drug delivery systems(TDDs) avoid gastrointestinal degradation and hepatic first-pass metabolism, providing good drug bioavailability and patient compliance. One emerging type of TDDs is the wearable patch worn on the skin surface to deliver medication through the skin. They can generally be grouped into passive and active types, depending on the properties of materials,design principles and integrated devices. This review describes the latest advancement in the development of wearable patches, focusing on the integration of stimulus-responsive materials and *** development is deemed to provide a dosage, temporal, and spatial control of therapeutics delivery.
