A Hybrid Model for Improving Software Cost Estimation in Global Software Development

Accurate software cost estimation in Global Software Development(GSD)remains challenging due to reliance on historical data and expert *** models,such as the Constructive Cost Model(COCOMO II),rely heavily on historical and accurate *** addition,expert judgment is required to set many input parameters,which can introduce subjectivity and variability in the estimation ***,there is a need to improve the current GSD models to mitigate reliance on historical data,subjectivity in expert judgment,inadequate consideration of GSD-based cost drivers and limited integration of modern technologies with cost *** study introduces a novel hybrid model that synergizes the COCOMO II with Artificial Neural Networks(ANN)to address these *** proposed hybrid model integrates additional GSD-based cost drivers identified through a systematic literature review and further vetted by industry *** article compares the effectiveness of the proposedmodelwith state-of-the-artmachine learning-basedmodels for software cost *** the NASA 93 dataset by adopting twenty-six GSD-based cost drivers reveals that our hybrid model achieves superior accuracy,outperforming existing *** findings indicate the potential of combining COCOMO II,ANN,and additional GSD-based cost drivers to transform cost estimation in GSD.

In this paper, a shape control strategy is proposed for the stochastic distributed systems with time-delay. This strategy can effectively achieve the output of the system tracking a given target distribution. The square root rational B-spline（SR-RBS）expansion technique is used to approximate the output probability density function（PDF）, thus the original stochastic system can be transformed into a weight dynamic system. In this framework, a new shape control strategy is proposed for this weight dynamic system. The strategy can track the given output distribution with optimal performance. Finally, the numerical simulation are showed to the effectiveness of the proposed method.

We investigate the process of pulsed laser cooling using a self-constructed molecular dynamics simulation(MDSimulation)*** simulate the Doppler cooling process and pulsed laser Doppler cooling process of a single^(40)Ca^(+)ion,and the comparison with the experimental results shows that this self-constructed MD-Simulation program works well in the weak laser intensity ***,we analyze the pulsed laser Doppler cooling process of a single^(27)Al^(+)*** program can be used to analyze the molecular dynamic process of various situations of Doppler cooling in an ion trap,which could give predictions and experimental guidance.

Metal corrosion causes significant economic losses,safety issues,and environmental ***,its prevention is of immense research *** dots(CDs)are a new class of zero-dimensional carbon nanomaterials,which have been considered for corrosion protection applications in recent years due to their corrosion inhibition effect,fluorescence,low toxicity,facile chemical modification,and *** study provides a comprehensive overview of the synthesis,physical and chemical properties,and anticorrosion mechanisms of functionalized ***,the corrosion inhibition performance of different types of CDs is introduced,followed by discussion on their application in the development of smart protective coatings with self-healing and/or self-reporting *** effective barrier formed by CDs in the coatings can inhibit the spread of local damage and achieve self-healing *** addition,diverse functional groups on CDs can interact with Fe^(3+)and H^(+)ions generated during the corrosion process;this interaction changes their fluorescence,thereby demonstrating self-reporting ***,challenges and prospects for the development of CD-based corrosion protection systems are also presented.

Membrane separation technology offers a green,efficient and energy-saving approach for biogas *** with high selectivity and high permeability are the key to achieve high *** of Intrinsic Microporosity(PIMs)materials have shown excellent gas permeability but low selectivity which limits their practical ***,a polyphenol,tannic acid,was coated on the PIM-1 membrane surface by a facile dipping method to fabricate composite *** acid containing a large number of polar oxygencontaining groups(quinone,phenolic hydroxyl)self-polymerized on the membrane surface to form a CO2-philic,defect-free and thin *** CO2/CH4 selectivity of the resultant composite membranes was increased after tannic acid coating while the permeability remained comparable to or even higher than pristine PIM-1 membrane,exceeding the reported 2008 upper bound.

Non-blind audio bandwidth extension is a standard technique within contemporary audio codecs to efficiently code audio signals at low bitrates. In existing methods, in most cases high frequencies signal is usually generated by a duplication of the corresponding low frequencies and some parameters of high frequencies. However, the perception quality of coding will significantly degrade if the correlation between high frequencies and low frequencies becomes weak. In this paper, we quantitatively analyse the correlation via computing mutual information value. The analysis results show the correlation also exists in low frequency signal of the context dependent frames besides the current frame. In order to improve the perception quality of coding, we propose a novel method of high frequency coarse spectrum generation to improve the conventional replication method. In the proposed method, the coarse high frequency spectrums are generated by a nonlinear mapping model using deep recurrent neural network. The experiments confirm that the proposed method shows better performance than the reference methods.

High-Throughput Phenotyping of Dynamic Canopy Traits Associated with Stay-Green in Grain Sorghum

Drought is a recurring phenomenon that puts crop yields at risk and threatens the livelihoods of many people around the ***-green is a drought adaption phenotype found in sorghum and other *** expressing this phenotype show less drought-induced senescence and maintain functional green leaves for longer when water limitation occurs during grain fill,conferring benefits in both yield per se and *** physiological causes of the phenotype are postulated to be water saving through mechanisms such as reduced canopy size or access to extra water through mechanisms such as deeper *** sorghum breeding programs,stay-green has traditionally been assessed by comparing visual scores of leaf senescence either by identifying final leaf senescence or by estimating rate of leaf *** this study,we compared measurements of canopy dynamics obtained from remote sensing on two sorghum breeding trials to stay-green values(breeding values)obtained from visual leaf senescence ratings in multienvironment breeding trials to determine which components of canopy development were most closely linked to the stay-green ***,canopy size as estimated using preflowering canopy parameters was weakly correlated with stay-green values for leaf senescence while postflowering canopy parameters showed a much stronger association with leaf *** study suggests that factors other than canopy size have an important role in the expression of a stay-green phenotype in grain sorghum and further that the use of UAVs with multispectral sensors provides an excellent way of measuring canopy traits of hundreds of plots grown in large field trials.

Manipulating metal-sulfur interactions for achieving high-performance S cathodes for room temperature Li/Na-sulfur batteries

BiFeO_(3)-BaTiO_(3)(BF-BT)ceramics are important multiferroic materials,which are attracting significant attention for potential applications in high temperature lead-free piezoelectric *** the present study,the effects of Sr^(2+)as an acceptor dopant for Bi^(3+),in the range from 0 to 1.0%(in mole),on the structure and ferroelectric/piezoelectric properties of 0.7BiFeO_(3)-0.3BaTiO_(3)ceramics were *** use of a post-sintering Ar annealing process was found to be an effective approach to reduce electrical conductivity induced by the presence of electron holes associated with reoxidation during cooling.A low Sr dopant concentration(0.3%,in mole)yielded enhanced ferroelectric(P_(max)∼0.37 C/m^(2),P_(r)∼0.30 C/m^(2))and piezoelectric(d_(33)∼178 pC/N,k_(p)∼0.27)properties,whereas higher levels led to chemically heterogeneous core-shell structures and secondary phases with an associated decline in *** electric field-induced strain of the Sr-doped BF-BT ceramics was investigated using a combination of digital image correlation macroscopic strain measurements and in-situ synchrotron X-ray *** of the intrinsic(lattice strain)and extrinsic(domain switching)contributions to the electric field induced strain indicated that the intrinsic contribution dominated during the poling process.
