Transformation and Breaking of Irregular Waves on Very Gentle Slopes

This study aimed to establish the core and functional competency model for the health care consultants,taking nine health care consultants from a health care center affiliated to a teaching hospital in Taiwan as the study *** study was conducted through three ***,it conducted behavior event interview to sort out the functional competency model for each group type,so as to understand the functional competencies of each functional ***,constructing the competency scale by questionnaire survey method aimed to verify the importance of the functional ***,the common competencies were found out based on the functional model of each group type,and the organizational vision was taken into account to analyze the core *** results of the study summarized nine core competencies and 7 functional competency items of the reporting group,1 functional competency item of the consulting room group,6 functional competency items of the endoscope group,2 functional competency items of the reception group and 5 functional competency items of the guiding group leader group and proposed suggestions for future practice.

Based on theoretical analysis, numerical calculation, and experimental study. this paper discusses breaker indices of irregular waves, transformation of wave spectrum, characteristics and computation of breaking waves, as well as the critical beach slope under which waves will not break. Computed results are in good agreement with laboratory physical model test data and ocean wave field measurements.

This paper presents a laboratory study on bridge pier protection with surface guide panels (SGP) in clear-water experiments. The SGP is installed by piercing a set of two vertical panels partially into the water,with some interior angle and leading opening,setting at a distance ahead of the protected pier. The suitable installation of the SGP can effectively adjust the flow pattern to reduce the downflow motion and the horseshoe vortex ahead of the pier. We considersome dominant factors to set up SGP for pier protection,including the interior angle θ,leading openingOw,distance between panel and pier L,submerged depthof panel Pd,pier diameter D and water depth H. After evaluation of these parameters through laboratory tests,the optimal setup conditions of è=60o,Ow/D=0.1～0.2,L/D=2～2.5 and Pd/H=0.7 are determined. Under these conditions,the usage of SGP leads to a best performance on decrement of the maximum scour depth at pier up to 90% with ignorable side effects on the SGP scour.

Drawing upon output, employment, consumption and trade data, this article examtnes whether there is an economic tertiarization trend in China ＇s economy and evaluates the common factors driving current trends. It shows that the tertiarization trend is evident for the overall economy and most regions in terms of the service nominal value-added ratio and service employment and consumption. However, the tertiarization trend is not significant in terms of the service real value-added ratio, and there is even some concurrent ＂detertiarization ＂ because of the decreasing proportion of services in imports and exports. lndeed, China ＇s tertiarization trend is far behind its industrialization trend The rise in the relative prices of services explains the rising proportion of household service consumption expenditure and further illuminates why the service real value-added ratio has not grown. The main cause for the growing percentage of service employment is the lag in service labor productivity growth in interaction with the price inelasticity of service demand ＂Cost disease ＂ has appeared in service consumption.

A highly efficient flow discharge measuring method was proposed in this study. Either the traditional velocimeters or the Acoustic Doppler Profiler (ADP) can be used to measure the maximum flow velocity, Umax at the y-axis (vertical passing through the maximum point velocity in a channel cross section). The mean velocity of the cross section U was computed by Ufmax, where f was estimated from the field data collected with the cup-type current meter using the 搕wo-point method? The flow discharge was then computed by multiplying the estimated flow area with U. In contrast to the traditional method, where flow depth and flow velocity measurements are needed for each vertical, the proposed method has the advantages of short operation time and high accuracy. These features are especially important for the measurement of unsteady flow.

Gouty arthritis is an inflammatory disease that is caused by an accumulation of monosodium urate （MSU） crystals in the joints. MSU is capable of activating the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor pyrin domain containing 3 （NLRP3） inflammasome, leading to interleukin-lβ （IL-lβ） secretion. Reactive oxygen species （ROS） are major mediators of the NLRP3/IL-lβ interaction. Although nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 （Nrf2） is recognized as a transcription factor that is involved in the response to oxidative stress, the effect of MSU on Nrf2 and on Nrf2-mediated antioxidant enzymes remains unclear. The treatment of THP-1 monocytes using phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate （PMA） was shown to initiate inflammatory responses. Here, we showed that THP-1 cells, following treatment with MSU crystals, significantly increased IL-1β release, NLRP3 inflammasome activation and ROS production. MSU also promoted the nuclear translocation of Nrf2 and activated lysosomal destabilization. Moreover, the levels of heme oxygenase-1 （HO-1） in gene and protein expressions were upregulated by MSU. MSU-induced IL-lβ secretion and NLRP3 inflammasome activation were inhibited by the knockdown of Nrf2 and via the HO-1 inhibitor zinc （11） protoporphyrin IX （ZnPP）. In addition, HO-1 inhibition increased the level of superoxide anion production and the consumption of glutathione. These findings suggest that Nrf2 and HO-1 mediate redox homeostasis and interact with pro-inflammatory factors in MSU-challenged THP-1 cells, thereby providing new insight into how MSU-induced gouty inflammation is mediated by specific mechanisms that are involved in the Nrf2/Ho-1 antioxidant signaling pathway.

＜正＞TMR（Total Mixed Ration） is the trend in the feeding of dairy *** purpose of this study was to measure the physical properties of various TMR compositions to determine the feeding *** the completion of mixing by the mixer,we took samples in the start,middle and end of the material unloading process to compare the differences in the physical properties of roughage and concentrate before feeding and after ***,we tested the sample TMR chemical composition content to assess and discuss the TMR mixing uniformity *** on the physical property analysis results,we suggested the following feeding sequence:1) fine-cut materials of high moisture content;2) materials of low moisture content and good flowability;3) alternative fine-cut materials of high moisture content;4) vimineous haylage;and 5) dispersed feeding of compositions of large amount,*** *** used the shovel loader to feed the composite materials by weight into the mixing tank of the mixer in 10 *** total weight of each mixing was 2000 kg,the mixing speed of the mixer was 75 rev/min,and the mixing time was about 20 *** chemical composition analysis found that the evenly mixed TMR’s moisture content and bulk density were 62.2%and 219 kg/m3 *** research findings can be a reference in TMR operation to dairy farmers.

A one-layer time-invariant eddy viscosity model is specified to develop a mathematical model for describing the essential features of the turbulent wave boundary layer over a rough bed. The functional form of the eddy viscosity is evaluated based on computational results from a two-equation turbulence model in which the eddy viscosity varies with time and space. The present eddy viscosity model simplifies much of the mathematical complexity in many existing models. Predictions from the present model have been compared with a wide range of experimental data. It is found that the eddy viscosity model adopted in the present study is physically reasonable.
