In the late 1990s, the international development banks and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) convened to outline seven International Development Goals (IDGs) to reduce poverty by 2015. These goals incorporated both the economic and social dimensions of poverty. A two thirds reduction of child mortality and a three fourths reduction of maternal mortality from rates in 1990 by 2015 are two of these seven IDGs. There is a need for better combinations of cost effective strategies to reach these challenging goals by the year 2015. This paper discusses the potential usefulness of micronutrient deficiency control programs for this purpose.

Leptoquark(LQ)models are well motivated solutions to the(g-2)_(μ)*** the minimal LQ models,only specific representations can lead to chiral *** the scalar LQs,R_(2)and S_(1)can lead to the top quark chiral *** the vector LQs,V_(2)and U_(1)can lead to the bottom quark chiral *** we consider the LQ and vector-like quark(VLQ)simultaneously,there can be more *** our previous study,we considered the scalar LQ and VLQ extended models with up-type quark chiral ***,we study the scalar LQ and VLQ extended models with down-type quark chiral *** find two new models with B quark chiral enhancements,which originate from the bottom and bottom partner ***,we propose new LQ and VLQ search channels under the constraints of(g-2)_(μ).

The CDF collaboration recently announced a new measurement result for the W boson mass,and it is in tension with the standard model *** this paper,we explain this anomaly in the vector-like quark(VLQ)(X,T,B)_(L,R)and leptoquark(LQ)S_(3)extended *** this model,both the VLQ and LQ have positive corrections to the W boson ***,it may be a solution to the(g-2)_(μ)anomaly because of the chiral enhancements from top,T,and B quarks.

We present some classes of solutions for dust matter coupled to the string cloud in five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein spacetimes. The solutions have one or two distinct singularities depending upon the sign of the constant of integration. Some of the classes of models exhibit inflation in the initial stage. The behaviour of associated parameters has been discussed in detail.

Urban humans and biodiversity-related concepts are interacting with each other in many negative and positive *** biodiversity provides a wide array of provision and cultural-ecological services to urban residents,but it is being overexploited to the point of *** crisis is largely driven by the expanding illegal wildlife trade in developing countries with a high urbanization rate and biodiversity level like *** supply-side measures are ineffective in reducing biodiversity loss,researchers have suggested demandside measures as supplements,such as social marketing campaigns and law enforcement in urban ***,urban residents are also potential visitors to urban public parks and national parks,which helps generate finance for biodiversity preservation and conservation in those *** how urban residents’perceptions towards biodiversity and biodiversity-related behaviors can help improve the effectiveness of conservation efforts and sustainable urban ***,this article presents a data set of 535 urban residents’wildlife consumption behaviors,multifaceted perceptions and interactions with biodiversity-related concepts,and nature-based recreation *** data set is constructed with six major categories:1)wildlife product consumption,2)general biodiversity perceptions,3)biodiversity at home and neighborhood,4)public park visitation and motivations,5)national park visitation and motivations,and 6)socio-demographic *** resources are expected to support researchers in enriching the lax literature regarding the role of urban residents in biodiversity conservation and preservation,and help policymakers to find insights for building up an"eco-surplus culture"among urban residents through effective public communication and policymaking.

This study examines associations between California Central Valley(CCV) heat waves and the Madden Julian Oscillation(MJO). These heat waves have major economic impact. Our prior work showed that CCV heat waves are frequently preceded by convection over the tropical Indian and eastern pacific oceans, in patterns identifiable with MJO phases. The main analysis method is lagged composites(formed after each MJO phase pair) of CCV synoptic station temperature, outgoing longwave radiation(OLR), and velocity potential(VP). Over the CCV, positive temperature anomalies occur only after the Indian Ocean(phases 2-3) or eastern pacific Ocean(phases 8-1) convection(implied by OLR and VP fields). The largest fractions of CCV hot days occur in the two weeks after onset of those two phase pairs. OLR and VP composites have significant subsidence and convergence above divergence over the CCV during heat waves, and these structures are each part of larger patterns having significant areas over the Indian and pacific Oceans. Prior studies showed that CCV heat waves can be roughly grouped into two clusters: Cluster 2 is preceded by a heat wave over northwestern North America, while Cluster 1 is not. OLR and VP composite analyses are applied separately to these two clusters. However, for Cluster 2, the subsidence and VP over the CCV are not significant, and the large-scale VP pattern has low correlation with the MJO lagged composite field. Therefore, the association between the MJO convection and subsequent CCV heat wave is more evident in Cluster 1 than Cluster 2.
