BACKGROUND Genomic profiling of tumors has contributed to the understanding of colorectal cancer(CRC), facilitating diagnosis, prognosis and selection of treatments,including targeted regimens. Dysphagia in patients with isolated pontine infarction

Little is known about dysphagia after pontine infarction. In this study, we evaluated the incidence of dysphagia after isolated pontine infarction and identified the predictive factors for the occurrence of dysphagia. A total of 146 patients were included in this study. All patients underwent clinical testing for dysphagia within 1 day after admission and at the time of discharge. We compared the incidence of dysphagia between patients with unilateral pontine infarction and those with bilateral pontine infarction. To evaluate the functional status of patients, we investigated their initial modified Rankin Scale（mRS） score and initial National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale（NIHSS） score within 1 day of admission. Of 146 patients, 50（34.2%） had dysphagia initially within 1 day after admission. At the second evaluation at the time of discharge, dysphagia was diagnosed in 24 patients（16.4%）. Patients with bilateral pontine infarction were more likely to present with dysphagia. In addition, clinical severity（in terms of mRS and NIHSS scores） was identified as a predictor of dysphagia in patients with cerebral infarction（multiple binary logistic regression analysis, mRS： P = 0.011, NIHSS： P = 0.004）. Dysphagia frequently occurs in patients with isolated pontine infarction. Clinicians should pay particular attention to the occurrence of dysphagia, especially in patients with bilateral pontine infarction or high functional disability.

Efficacy and safety of Di-Tan Decoction for treating post-stroke neurological disorders:a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials

The management of post-stroke complications plays an important role in the quality of ***-Tan Decoction(DTD;涤痰汤)is a widely used traditional Chinese *** study incorporated systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of DTD in post-stroke neurological *** clinical trials(RCTs)were searched from English,Chinese and Korean electronic medical databases,by including the keywords"Di-Tan Tang","Di-Tan Decoction","Scour Phlegm Decoction","stroke",and"*** RCT included control(placebo,conventional therapy,or Western medicine)and experimental(DTD treatment)*** patients inflicted with stroke for 1-6 weeks,the outcomes of post-stroke neurological disorders were measured by scales for post-stroke symptoms and were classified as"completely healed","markedly effective","effective"and"ineffective".Totally,11 RCTs(n=490 controls and n=502 DTD subjects)were selected from 210 articles identified in the initial search.A metaanalysis of evaluation criteria in post-stroke symptoms revealed that the overall odds ratio(ORs)for alleviating post-stroke neurological disorders were 0.30-fold lower(95%CI=0.21-0.43)in the DTD group than the control(Western medicine)group(P<0.00001).Moreover,regardless of the type of stroke diagnostic scale applied(including NFA,HDS,and NIHSS),the overall post-stroke symptoms determined were less severe in the DTD group(n=219)than the control group(n=217).No adverse effects of DTD were observed in the 11 RCTs *** 11 studies used an appropriate method for randomization of subjects to evaluate the risk of bias(ROB),and 7 studies included allocation concealment as well as blinding of patients and ***-risk ROB was included in6 *** significant publication bias was derived from the funnel *** results indicate that the administration of DTD alone,and DTD in combination with Western medicine,exert greater efficacy for post-stroke complication therapy,than Western medicine administ

Attenuation of corneal neovascularization by topical low-molecular-weight heparin-taurocholate 7 without bleeding complication

AIM：To investigate the antiangiogenic effects and safety of topically administered low-molecular-weight heparintaurocholate 7（LHT7） on corneal neovascularization（CoNV）.METHODS：Twenty-four Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly distributed into four groups of six rats *** central corneas were cauterized using a silver/potassium nitrate *** 2d after cauterization,12.5 mg/mL（low LHT7 group） or 25 mg/mL（high LHT7group） LHT7 was topically administered three times daily;12.5 mg/mL bevacizumab was topically administered as positive control（bevacizumab） group,with normal saline（NS） administered as negative control（NS group）.The corneas were digitally photographed to calculate the CoNV percentage from the neovascularized corneal area at 1 and ***：The 4 study groups did not have different CoNV percentages at 1wk after injury（P〉0.05）.However,the low LHT,high LHT,and bevacizumab groups had significantly lower CoNV percentages than the NS group at 2wk（all P〈0.05）.No significant differences in CoNV percentage were found among the low LHT,high LHT,and bevacizumab groups（all P〉0.05）.All groups except the NS group had lower CoNV percentages at 2wk postinjury than the levels observed at 1wk（all P〈0.05）.CONCLUSION：Topically-administered LHT7 inhibited CoNV without complication after chemical cauterization in the rat.

Randomized clinical trial of a bladder neck plication stitch during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy

Urinary incontinence after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy （RARP） is one of the most bothersome complications affecting patients＇ daily lives. The efficacy of the bladder neck plication stitch technique in promoting an earlier return of continence was prospectively evaluated in 158 patients who underwent RARP for clinically localized prostate cancer by a single surgeon at our institute from March 2012 to January 2013. Patients were randomized 1：1 to undergo surgery with （n = 79） or without （n = 79） the bladder neck plication stitch, and their time to recovery from incontinence, defined as being pad free, was compared. Recovery from incontinence at 1, 3, and 6 months were observed in 22 （27.8%）, 42 （53.2%）, and 57 （72.2%） patients, respectively, treated with, and 23 （29.1%）, 47 （59.5%）, and 59 （74.7%） patients, respectively, treated without the bladder neck plication stitch, with no significant difference in time to recovery from incontinence between the two groups. Multivariate analysis showed that age, membranous urethral length and shape of the prostatic apex on magnetic resonance imaging were independent predictors of early recovery from urinary incontinence after RARP. The bladder neck plication stitch had no effect on time to recovery from postoperative urinary incontinence following RARR

Optimal proximal resection margin distance for gastrectomy in advanced gastric cancer
