Acceptability of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) by Mothers with Low-Birth-Weight Babies at arthur davison children’s hospital, in Ndola, Zambia

Background: Kangaroo Mother Care is a simple safe method used to care for low-birth-weight babies. Low-birth-weight is a global public health issue that pose significant challenge to perinatal care systems. Globally, complications due to low-birth-weight are the leading cause of neonatal mortality, resulting in an estimated 1 million deaths annually. Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) is a low-cost method of care for low-birth-weight infants in areas with inadequate incubators and power outages with positive outcomes. Objectives: To assess factors influencing acceptability of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) in NICU at arthur davison children’s hospital in Ndola, Zambia. Methodology: A cross sectional quantitative analytical study design was used. The study was conducted at arthur davison children’s hospital (ADCH) in Ndola, Zambia. The purposive sampling method was used to select the study participants and a total of 129 mothers with Low Weight Babies A were selected to participate structured closed ended questionnaire was used to collect data from the participants using an interview. Data was analyzed using a statistical Package for social scientists (sPss) software version 26. Cross tabulations were done to determine association of variables using a Chi square (xsup>2sup>) test at 95% confidence interval and were assumptions where not met, fishers exact test was used. Multivariate binary logistic regression analysis was used to quantify the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. Results: Most of the respondents had male babies 77%, 69% of the babies weighed 1000 g - 1400 g, majority 79% had normal delivery, 71% of the respondents were multigravida and most of the respondents 79% were married. The study reviewed that 85% of those who attained secondary education accepted KMC, 74% of the respondents without monthly income accepted KMC, 80% of the respondents had positive attitude and accepted KMC. 82% of the respondents who had positive perception accep

Reconstruction characteristics of gut microbiota from patients with type 1 diabetes affect the phenotypic reproducibility of glucose metabolism in mice

The human microbiota-associated(HMA) mice model, especially the germ-free(GF)-humanized mice, has been widely used to probe the causal relationships between gut microbiota and human diseases such as type 1 diabetes(T1D). However, most studies have not clarified the extent to which the reconstruction of the human donor microbiota in recipient mice correlates with corresponding phenotypic reproducibility. In this study, we transplanted fecal microbiota from five patients with T1D and four healthy people into GF mice, and microbiota from each donor were transplanted into 10 mice. Mice with similar microbiota structure to the donor exhibited better phenotypic reproducibility. The characteristics of the microbial community assembly of donors also influenced the phenotypic reproducibility in mice, and individuals with a higher proportion of stochastic processes showed more severe disorders. Microbes enriched in patients with T1D had a stronger colonization potential in mice with impaired glucose metabolism, and microbiota functional features related to T1D were better reproduced in these mice. This indicates that assembly traits and colonization efficacy of microbiota influence phenotypic reproducibility in GF-humanized mice. Our findings provide important insights for using HMA mice models to explore links between gut microbiota and human diseases.

Recent research has demonstrated the impact of physical activity on the prognosis of glioma patients,with evidence suggesting exercise may reduce mortality risks and aid neural *** role of the small ubiquitin-like modifier(sUMO)protein,especially post-exercise,in cancer progression,is gaining attention,as are the potential anti-cancer effects of *** used machine learning to create the exercise and sUMO-related gene signature(EsLRs).This signature shows how physical activity might help improve the outlook for low-grade glioma and other *** demonstrated the prognostic and immunotherapeutic significance of EsLRs markers,specifically highlighting how murine double minute 2(MDM2),a component of the EsLRs,can be targeted by *** underscores the intricate relationship between natural compounds such as nutlin-3 and immune *** comprehensive CRIsPR screening,we validated the effects of specific EsLRs genes on low-grade glioma *** also revealed insights into the effectiveness of Nutlin-3a as a potent MDM2 inhibitor through molecular docking and dynamic ***-3a inhibited glioma cell proliferation and activated the p53 *** efficacy decreased with MDM2 overexpression,and this was reversed by Nutlin-3a or *** using a low-grade glioma mouse model highlighted the effect of physical activity on oxidative stress and molecular pathway ***,both physical exercise and Nutlin-3a administration improved physical function in mice bearing tumors derived from MDM2-overexpressing *** results suggest the potential for Nutlin-3a,an MDM2 inhibitor,with physical exercise as a therapeutic approach for glioma *** research also supports the use of natural products for therapy and sheds light on the interaction of exercise,natural products,and immune regulation in cancer treatment.
