Molecular dynamics simulations have been used to study two topics of water molecules on hydrophobic surfaces. Some properties of the nanobubbles with different ingredients and behavior of single water chains in sin- gle-walled carbon nanochannels are exploited. Molecular simulations show that the density of the N2 and H2 are quite high, which is critical for the stability of the nanobubbles and may have potential applications, such as hydrogen storage, inc.rporated with recent experimental method to controllably produce hydrogen nanobubbles. The water molecules inside the nanochannel show an unexpected directed motion with long time period, which is indispensable in the future study of the dynamics of biological channels.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent progenitor cells with therapeutic potential against autoimmune diseases, inflammation, ischemia, and metabolic disorders. Contrary to the previous conceptions, recent studies have revealed that the tissue repair and immunomodulatory functions of MSCs are largely attributed to their secretome, rather than their potential to differentiate into desired cell types. The composition of MSC secretome encompasses cytokines and growth factors, in addition to the cell-derived structures known as extracellular vesicles (EVs). EVs are membrane-enclosed nanoparticles that are capable of delivering biomolecules, and it is now believed that MSC-derived EVs are the major players that induce biological changes in the target tissues. Based on these EVs’ characteristics, the potential of EVs derived from MSC (MSC-EV) in terms of tissue regeneration and immune modulation has grown during the last decade. However, the use of MSCs for producing sufficient amount of EVs has not been satisfactory due to limitations in the cell growth and large variations among the donor cell types. In this regard, pluripotent stem cells (PSCs)-derived MSC-like cells, which can be robustly induced and expanded in vitro, have emerged as more accessible cell source that can overcome current limitations of using MSCs for EV production. In this review, we have highlighted the methods of generating MSC-like cells from PSCs and their therapeutic outcome in preclinical studies. Finally, we have also discussed future requirements for making this cell-free therapy clinically feasible.

In poultry,feed based on maggots,like larvae of black soldier fly(Hermetia illucens) is an attractive option to substitute current ingredients which are expensive and often in direct or indirect competition with human *** information is currently available on the utility of these larvae in poultry feed,so goals of this study were to determine whether larvae could be reared on horse manure under traditional farming conditions and to evaluate the growth performances of a local poultry fed these larvae and the fatty acids profiles of their *** freezing and thawing,larvae were introduced in the feed of Ardennaise chickens between 30 and 80 days of *** in the control group received a commercial standard feed,while those in the treatment group received the same commercial feed in which 8% was substituted with whole fresh larvae corresponding to 2% on a dry matter *** ± standard errors of larval length and weight were 20.67 ± 2.21 mm and 0.14 ± 0.02 g,*** larval percentages of dry matter and of substances extractable in diethyl ether were 24.6% and 23.1%,*** fatty acids profiles were predominantly composed of lauric acid(28.1%) and palmitic acid(22.0%).Least squares means of weekly weights of chicken,adjusted for the effects of sex,replication and initial weights,were significantly higher(P inc.uding fatty acid profiles,protein content and w6/w3 ratio.

The natural fiber/poly(lactic acid) (PLA) composites were prepared with ramie and jute short fiber as reinforcement and PLA as matrix. The mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were investigated. The results show that the properties of the composites are better than those of plain PLA. When the content of the fiber is 30%, the composites can get the best mechanical properties. The dynamic mechanical analysis results show that the storage moduli of the PLA/ramie and PLA/jute composites inc.ease with respect to the plain PLA. The Vicat softening temperature of the composites is greatly higher than that of PLA. The results of thermogravimetric analysis show that adding fiber to the PLA matrix can improve the degradation temperature of PLA.

Single DNA molecules are aligned on highly ordered pyrolytic graphite （HOPG） surface in ambient air. It is shown that environmental humidity has a remarkable influence on the measured height of DNA by atomic force microscopy （AFM）, probably due to the conformation transition of DNA. We also demonstrate that DNA molecules deposited on HOPG surface can be ＇pushed＇ much more easily by AFM tip at high humidity than at 10W one.

Myelin-associated inhibitory factors within the central nervous system（CNS） are considered to be one of the main obstacles for axonal regeneration following disease or injury. The nogo receptor 1（NgR1） has been well documented to play a key role in limiting axonal regrowth in the injured and diseased mammalian CNS. However, the role of nogo receptor in immune cell activation during CNS inflammation is yet to be mechanistically elucidated. Microglia/macrophages are immune cells that are regarded as pathogenic contributors to inflammatory demyelinating lesions in multiple sclerosis（MS）. In this study, the animal model of MS, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis（EAE） was induced in ngr1^＋/＋ and ngr1^–/– female mice following injection with the myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein（MOG_（35–55）） peptide. A fatemap analysis of microglia/macrophages was performed throughout spinal cord sections of EAE-induced mice at clinical scores of 0, 1, 2 and 3, respectively（inc.easing locomotor disability） from both genotypes, using the CD11 b and Iba1 cell markers. Western immunoblotting using lysates from isolated spinal cord microglia/macrophages, along with immunohistochemistry and flow cytometric analysis, was performed to demonstrate the expression of nogo receptor and its two homologs during EAE progression. Myelin protein engulfment during EAE progression in ngr1^＋/＋ and ngr1^–/– mice was demonstrated by western immunblotting of lysates from isolated spinal cord microglia/macrophages, detecting levels of Nogo-A and MOG. The numbers of M1 and M2 microglia/macrophage phenotypes present in the spinal cords of EAE-induced ngr1^＋/＋ and ngr1^–/– mice, were assessed by flow cytometric analysis using CD38 and Erg-2 markers. A significant difference in microglia/macrophage numbers between ngr1^＋/＋ and ngr1^–/– mice was identified during the progression of the clinical symptoms of EAE, in the white versus gray matter regions of the spinal cord. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is among the most alarming pathogens affecting both humans and the global bovine industry. The current control measures in hospitals and on farms for MRSA have proven to be inadequate leaving a need for new rapid control methods to curb MRSA infections in situ. New control measures for bacterial infection are widely sought, with particular interest in the applications for bacteriophages (phages) as a biocontrol or therapeutic agent. The current study uses a wild highly lytic phage isolated from cow’s milk taken from three farms in Baghdad, Iraq. The resulting phage was able to rescue 100% of the mice from a median lethal dose (LD50) or (1 × 108 CFU mL-1 per mouse) for MRSA wild isolates achieved when the phage: bacteria ratio was 100:1. Even when treatment was delayed for 6 h post lethal infection, to the point where all mice were moribund, 80% of them were rescued by a single injection of this phage preparation. Based on the current results, a comprehensive study is needed to guide further research on the MRSA phage as a biocontrol for MRSA mastitis in dairy cows to replace or reduce the use of antibiotics in animal husbandry.
