Multi-objective optimization of rolling schedule based on co.t function for tandem co.d mill

In terms of tandem co.d mill productivity and product quality, a multi-objective optimization model of rolling schedule based on co.t fimction was proposed to determine the stand reductions, inter-stand tensions and rolling speeds for a specified product. The proposed schedule optimization model co.sists of several single co.t ***, which take rolling force, motor power, inter-stand tension and stand reduction into co.sideration. The co.t function, which can evaluate how far the rolling parameters are from the ideal values, was minimized using the Nelder-Mead simplex method. The proposed rolling schedule optimization method has been applied successfully to the 5-stand tandem co.d mill in Tangsteel, and the results from a case study show that the proposed method is superior to those based on empirical formulae.

The bake hardening （BH） behavior of transformation-induced plasticity （TRIP） and dual-phase （DP） steels after different prestrains was studied. The experimental results indicate that TRIP steel exhibits good BH ability while DP steel does not, and prestrain displays a strong effect on the BH values of both steels. The co.parison of microstructures of the two steels showed that the hard seco.d phase in the matrix might be harmful to the BH ability. For deformed specimens, baking resulted in a loss of uniform elongation, but there was no obvious decrease in uniform elongation for unprestrained specimens.

Crown feedback co.trol is one part of the automatic shape co.trol （ASC） system. On the basis of large simulation researches co.ducted, a linear crown feedback co.trol model was put forward and applied in actual strip rolling. Acco.ding to its successful op- eration in the ASP 1700 hot strip mill of Angang Group for one year and also from the statistical results of several crown measurements, it can be definitely said that this co.trol model is highly effective and shows stable performance. The co.trol effectiveness of different gauges of strips with the feedback co.trol is found to increase by 10%-30% co.pared with that without feedback co.trol.

A mathematical model for simulating the fluid flow, heat transfer and solidification in the co.ventional mold and the chamfer mold, together with a finite element stress-strain model in the straightening process of both molds, were established for the typical niobium, vanadium, and titanium micro-alloyed steels. On the basis of both numerical analysis, the mold co.per plate with an optimum chamfered shape was designed and applied in industrial tests. The predicted results from numerical simulation of fluid flow, heat transfer and solidification in the co.ven tional mold and the chamfer mold show that the increased chamfered angle leads to an approximately linear increase o[ the slab surface temperature, but it also causes strong flow near the slab co.ner. Very small chamfered length can lead to a significant increase of the temperature near the slab co.ner. However, with further increasing the chamfered length, the temperature of the slab co.ner increased slightly. The calculated results from the finite element analysis of stress-strain during the straightening process show that at the same slope width, the tangential strain on the slat） edges and co.ners is minimum when the chamfered angle is 30° and 45°, which is only 40° to 46° of rectangular slabs with the same cross-section area. At the same chamfered angle of 30°, when the chamfered length is co.trolled between 65-85 mm, the tangential strain on the part of the slab edges and co.ners is relatively smaller. Industrial test results show that the slab co.ner temperature at straightening segment increases about 100 ℃ by using chamfer mold co.pared to the co.ventional molds. The slab transverse co.ner cracks have been reduced more than 95° in co.parison with those in the co.ventional mold.

The precision of profile and thickness is the most important target for wide strip rolling,but the co.pling of profile co.trol and thickness co.trol is ignored in rolling schedule,which holds down the simultaneous quality improvement of profile and thickness.A cross-co.pled process co.trol model for co.bined shape and gauge co.trol was developed on the basis of the fact that both co.trols for profile and thickness are realized by co.trolling the rolling gap.A dynamic deco.pling co.troller was then proposed to deco.ple the *** the simulation results and the online production data are valid and ensure the quality of the deco.pling co.troller.

co.bined cycle power plant(CCPP)usually plays an important role in balancing byproduct gas generation and co.sumption in integrated iron and steel *** low heat value fuel gases,such as blast furnace gas(BFG)or mixed gas with co.e oven gas(co.)and BFG,are preferred to be used in high-efficient CCPP for power *** practice,the general heat value of mixed gas can be set in the range of 3500–4400 kJ/Nm^(3).This paper presents a methodology to simulate operating parameters of CCPP with BFG.A generic model of gas turbine with open loop stage co.ling employing air is used to simulate the performance of gas turbines cycle under different co.pressor pressure ratios and turbine inlet temperatures(TIT).The isentropic efficiencies for gas co.pressor and gas turbine are supposed to be co.stants and set co.responding to published industrial *** steam cycle is co.posed of classical double-pressure heat reco.ery steam generator(HRSG)and steam turbines acco.ding to gas turbine outlet *** work,gas turbine cycle efficiency,co.eneration thermal efficiency and co.lant air flow requirements are evaluated to find the optimal co.pressor pressure ratio and *** research results are useful to select the optimum operating parameters of CCPP with *** features were estimated with the help of co.pression ratios 12.5–20 and co.bustor exit temperature 1150–1350℃.

CVC mills are generally used in the whole stands of CSP（co.pact Strip Product）.Their special ＂s＂ curve of work roll co.tour and shifting strategy aimed at co.trolling strip shape,and the characteristics of co.tinuous casting and rolling production,which make the work roll wear in downstream stands seriously uneven,and easily form abnormal transverse profile at the rolling *** a result,CVC mill co.figuration in the downstream stands can not meet the profile and flatness co.trol requirement for schedule free rolling,and bring some difficulties in profile and flatness co.trol for the subsequent co.d *** on the characteristics of the shape co.trol system of CSP production line,and co.bined with the theory of flat roll technology,a kind of technology solution of using flat roll in the downsteam stands for CSP hot strip mills was *** last,industrial test was carried out in the last stand of Masteel CSP,and good results were obtained.

Based on the current process and equipment co.ditions of No.3 steelmaking and co.tinuous rolling plant, which co.sists of desulphurization and slag skimming of hot metal, 260t co.bined blown BOF, rimmed steel tapping with slag stopping process, RH-TB vacuum treatment process and medium thin slab co.tinuous casting, the methods for improving cleanliness of IF steel in BOF smelting, RH vacuum treatment and co.tinuous casting were investigated. Acco.ding to results of theoretical analysis and experiments, a series of quality co.trolling schemes were proposed for improving cleanliness of IF steel via co.trolling chemical co.position, T[O] co.tent, tapping temperature, shrouded casting and co.trolling stability of co.tinuous casting.
