Background: Schima genus of Theaceae is confined to subtropics and tropics of South, East and Southeast *** species of Schima are distributed in subtropical China. Many of them appear as dominant canopy species in the subtropical forests. To date, Schima species richness distribution patterns of China have remained ***, there has been a longtime debate as to whether forests dominated by Schima species are early or late successional forests. We aim to clarify Schima species richness patterns and these species' roles in the forest succession and regeneration dynamics of the subtropical ecosystem in Yunnan Province, ***: We mapped Schima species richness distribution patterns in China. Based on 71 vegetation plots, we analyzed forest characteristics, population structure, and regeneration dynamics of Schima species in ***: Yunnan was found to harbor the greatest richness and the highest rarity-weighted richness of Schima species in the subtropical regions of China. We classified five primary and six secondary forest types containing Schima species as one of dominants. Yunnan had the high floristic diversity and varying stand structure of forests containing Schima species. The Schima species studied generally had a sporadic regeneration type and a long lifespan. Four species(Schima argentea, Schima villosa, Schima sinensis, Schima sericans) were shade-intolerant. But three species(Schima noronhae, Schima khasiana and Schima wallichii) were considered as bi-modal type species having shade-intolerant and shade-tolerant traits. Schima noronhae was seen to be a top dominant in late successional forests, while S. wallichii was found as a top-dominant in early or middle or late successional forests. ***, Schima villosa, Schima sinensis usually appeared as a top dominant in early or middle successional secondary forests, though they also presented as a second dominant in late-successional forests. [ Objective] To study growth-promoting effects of liposome-encapsulated porcine somatotropin （pST） and its sustained-release effects in mice. [ Method] The mice were randomly divided into experimental groups and control group. The mice in the experimental groups were respective- ly administrated with pST and liposome-encapsulated pST via intraperitoneal injection, and those in the control group were administrated with saline. They were weighed on Day 7, 14 and 28, and the growth rate was calculated. [ Result] The growth of mice had significant difference between the experiment groups and control group （P 〈 0.05）, which indicated that the pST and liposome-encapsulated pST had growth-promoting effects in mice, and the liposome-encapsulated pST had sustained-release effects. [Condusion] The liposome-encapsulated pST can promote the growth of animal and its sustained-release peried is 7 d.

Study on Anti-diarrhea Effect of the Prescription of 4 Tibetan Veterinary Drugs

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of extracts of 4 Tibetan veterinary drugs on bacterial diarrhea, and to guide the clinical treatment of the disease. The inhibitory effects of the extracts of the 4 Tibetan veterinary drugs, Veronica ciliate Fisch, Usnea diffracta Vain, Sophoraflavescens var. flavescens, Lamiophlomis rotata （ Benth. ） Kudo on 14 common diarrheagenic bacteria were detected by K-B diffusion method and micro-broth dilution method. Optimization was performed on prescriptions of the 4 Tibetan veterinary drugs using orthogonal design software, and a mouse bacterial diarrhea model was established with a clinical isolate, Salmonella blegdam. According to the LD50 value of the optimal prescription of the 4 Tibetan veterinary drugs, the established mouse bacterial diarrhea model was treated in 3 dose groups, i. e. , the high, middle and low dose groups （0. 060, 0. 030 and 0. 020 g/ml, respectively）. The results showed that the 4 Tibetan veterinary drugs had very good inhibitory effects on most of the tested diarrheagenic bacteria, and among them, U. diffracta had better inhibitory effects on all the tested bacteria. The optimal prescription of the d Tibetan veterinary drugs （high dose, 0.06 g/ml） exhibited very good inhibitory effect on mouse diarrhea, indicating that the prescription has very good anti-diarrhea effect, which is beneficial to the clinical treatment of such disease and the development of Tibetan veterinary drugs.

[Objective] To select excellent varieties of Gastrodia elata and to determine the most suitable picking season of the plant. [Method] The gastrodin contents in fresh wild G. elata harvested in winter in Bomi county, artificially cultivated fresh G. elata harvested in winter in Bomi county, and nonlocal G. elata were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） under the following conditions., chromato- graphic column, AngilentTc-C18 （5 μm, 4.6 mm × 250.0 mm） ; mobile phase, acetonitrile-water （5：95, V/V） ; wavelength, 220 nm; flow rate, 1.0 ml/min; column temperature, 35℃; and injection volume, 10 μl. The gastrodin contents in G. elata respectively harvested in winter and summer were compared. [ Result] The gastrodin content was higher in the fresh wild G. elata harvested in winter in Bomi county （0.076%） than in the artificially cultivated fresh G. elata harvested in winter in Bomi county （0.045%） and nonlocal G. elata （0.025%）. Additionally, the gastrodin content was higher in G. elata harvested in winter than in those harvested in summer. [ Conclusion] G. elata from Bomi Country is an excellent variety and should be harvested in winter.

[Objectives]This study was conducted to analyze and study the growth and development of muscle fibers at different stages,so as to provide a theoretical basis for subsequent research on developmental biology and nutritional regulation.[Methods]The body weights of black goat lambs in groups at different month age(0-6 months old)were recorded,and the diameter,area and number of muscle fibers were measured by tissue section and hematoxylin-eosin *** curves of body weight and muscle fiber growth and development of black goat lambs were drawn.[Results]The black goat lambs maintained a high absolute growth intensity of 2.95-4.35 kg/30 d throughout the rearing cycle,and the body weight continued to increase significantly,while the relative growth coefficient decreased from 93.05%at the age of 30 d to 13.83%at the age of 180 *** diameter and area of muscle fibers in black goat lambs showed obvious"three-stage"growth and development characteristics,and showed different trends of gender advantages in different stages.[Conclusions]This study will help to further optimize the key supporting technologies for production and promote the diversified and comprehensive development of the mutton sheep industry in Sichuan Province.

In this study,the effects of two types of premixed materials with different combinations of trace elements on the production performance and antioxidant capacity of simmental beef cattle were *** healthy simmental beef cattle of similar weight(approximately 330 kg),the same age(12 months),without castration,and a good physique were divided into three groups,with five beef cattle in each *** of Group Ⅰ beef cattle was supplemented with a commercially marketed 5% compound trace element premixture for fine beef *** of Group Ⅱ beef cattle was supplemented with a 5% compound microelement premixture for beef cattle that was designed to address local nutrient deficiencies and *** the blank control group,the beef cattle were not fed a *** pretest period was 15 days,and the test period was divided into prefattening(45 days)and postfattening(45 days)*** weight and body size indices were recorded at 1,2 and 3 months,and blood samples were collected *** Group Ⅰ,the daily weight gain increased significantly by 15.7% compared with that of the control *** largest daily weight gain was in Group Ⅱ,which increased by 31.6% compared with that in the *** the test period of 90 days,the body size indices of the three different groups increased in different months,with significant increases in the indices for both test groups compared with those of the *** Group Ⅰ,the activity of CP,the total activity of SOD and Cu-Zn-SOD increased significantly(p<0.05)compared with those in the control group,with a highly significant increase observed in GSH-PX activity(p<0.01).In Group Ⅱ,the increases in the activity of CP and the total activity of SOD and Cu-Zn-SOD were highly significant compared with those in the control group(p<0.01).In addition,a significant increase was observed in GSH-PX activity(p<0.05).Based on pretest results,the concentrations of Cu,Zn,Mo,Mn,Se and Co in the blood of experimental beef cat

Preliminary Study on Biological Control of Mycotoxin Contamination in Agricultural Products and Its Mechanism

Aflatoxin is the most powerful carcinogen and highly toxic mycotoxin known in nature. It can cause serious toxin pollution to agricultural products, foods and fodders, and is extremely harmful to human and animal health. For aflatoxin pollution, the emphasis is on the control of source, and biological control is favored by scientists because of its advantages of environmental protection and ecological safety. According to the morphology, color and appearance of microbial colonies isolated from maize kernels, 300 bacterial strains were obtained from main maize-producing areas including Tangshan City, Handan City, Shijiazhuang City and Cangzhou City. Two biocontrol bacterial strains(B120 and B65) having a strong control effect on aflatoxins were screened. After identification by molecular biology and physical and chemical properties, the two biocontrol bacterial strains were identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Their effects on spore germination, mycelial growth and toxin degradation of Aspergillus flavus were investigated. The results showed that strains B120 and B65 could significantly inhibit the spore germination and mycelial growth of A. flavus and reduce aflatoxin production. This study provides a new way to prevent and control the pollution control of aflatoxins in agricultural products.

Wild fodder plants are valuable because they provide an important livestock feed resource globally,especially for smallholder farmers,and have important roles in natural resource ***-depth knowledge of wild forage plants can motivate local people for feed resource and habitat conservation of threatened herbivores such as Mithun(Bos frontalis).Mithun occur in small patches in the mountains of Dulongjiang,nearby villagers domesticated this animal but left animal to freely graze in the *** fodder plants occur in these mountains,however,little is known about their nutritional *** conducted an ethnobotanical survey to document important wild fodder plants consumed by mithun in the Dulongjiang *** nutritional content of 21 highly mentioned wild fodder plants in an ethnobotanical survey was *** analysis showed that Fagopyrum dibotrys were the fodder species with the highest crude protein(CP)content(26.89%),followed by Polygonum molle(21.88%)and Hydrangea longipes(21.12%).Synthesis of relative feed value index and grey relational grade,***,*** and Tetrastigma obtectum were ranked the top three nutritional *** was a significant difference between 21 species on their in vitro digestibility and the most highly digestible fodder species was Elatostema *** model analysis on relationship between frequency of citation of 21 wild forage plants by local farmers and their nutrient composition showed that the frequency was significantly positively correlated with the nutritional value of the feed(R2?0.28,P<0.05).We concluded that these species have high nutritional values to improve mithun production in integrated crop-livestock *** species or mixtures of species with useful nutritional characters could be cultivated to improve livestock productivity,habitat conservation including that of mithun and wild forage resource management.

[ Objective] To express lactate dehydrogenase C （LDH-C） gene in prokaryotic system and then purify the recombinant protein. E Meth- od] The LDI-I-C gene was amplified from black-lipped pika（ Ochotona curzoniae） by RT-PCR and ligated to the expression vector pET-32a. The E. coli BL21 （DE3） carrying the LDI-I-C gene was obtained and induced by IPTG （isopropy-beta-D-thiogalactoside）. The expression products were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and purified by affinity chromatography. L Result] An approximately 1.0 kbp band appeared in the RT-PCR products as the- oretically expected. As evidenced by PCR and double enzyme digestion, an approximately 1.0 kbp fragment appeared, which indicated successful construction of expression vector. As analyzed by SDS-PAGE, a fusion protein with molecular weight slightly larger than 45 kDa was expressed in form of inclusion body. And very pure fusion protein was obtained by nickel ions-charged affinity chromatography. [ Coaclusion] The LDH-C gene of black-lipped pika has been cloned and expressed in E. coil
