Based on investigation data of farmers＇ income in Puqu Town, Nyingchi county during 2008 -2013, sources of farmers＇ income and effects of ecological tourism on increase of farmers＇ income in Puqu Town were analyzed. The results show that crop farming and animal husbandry are still main sources of increase of farmers＇ income, and ecological tourism has played increasingly important roles in increase of farmers＇ income; household productive management income is dominant but increases slowly, but household service management income increases rapidly; all kinds of subsidies also contribute to increase of farmers＇ income; ecological tourism and increase of farmers＇ income show rational retum trends to a cer- tain degree; because of shortcomings in tourism management, ecological tourism in Puqu Town develops slowly; the overall development of ecolog- ical tourism is not consistent with increase of farmers＇ income.

DEAR EDITOR,A new species of Sinomicrurus Slowinski,Boundy,and Lawson,2001 is described herein based on a series of *** new species,Sinomicrurus peinani ***.,occurs in southern China and northern *** peinani *** distinguished from its congeners by the following combination of characters:(1)30-35 black crossbands on body and tail;(2)13 dorsal scale rows throughout,all smooth;(3)white belly with black cross-bands or irregular spots;(4)broad white transverse bar on top of head with inverted V-shaped anterior margin,white bar wider than anterior black bar;and(5)frontal V-like,1.3 times as long as *** addition,new occurrences of *** in Guangxi,China,and Vietnam are discussed.

The research performed analysis on local tourist re- sources and existing problems based on researches available in order to rational exploitation on resources and advance tourism development. Finally, countermeasures were proposed including education promotion, improvement on quality and awareness, in- creasing talent pool, rebuilding image, scientific planning, and further exploitation on tourist products.

Impact of Oriental Fruit Fly Postharvest Treatments on Avocado

The detection in August 2015 of the Oriental Fruit Fly (Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, Diptera: Tephritidae) in the Redland area in Miami-Dade county, Florida triggered a quarantine that restricted the movement of fruit fly host material in an approximately 99-square mile (256-square kilometer) area. The quarantine affected 4000 acres of fruit bearing commercial avocado groves. Approved post-harvest treatments for B. dorsalis and avocado included in the USDA Treatment Manual were acceptable for immediate certification and movement of fresh avocados from the quarantine area. However, it was unknown if Florida avocados would meet quality standards (US combination grade) after the treatments. Three post-harvest treatments that combine methyl bromide fumigation and cold storage periods were tested on six avocado varieties from Florida. The treatments differed in the durations of the fumigation and cold treatment periods. A seven day transit period at 8.3°C (47°F) was added to account for the time when the fruit leaves the packing house until it is sold by retailers. None of the six varieties had met the US combination grade after the treatments and transit period. Treated fruit exhibited both internal (pulp) and external (skin) damage. Damage was attributed to the fumigation component of the treatment, but the six varieties tolerated the cold portion of the treatment. Damage by fumigation ranged from 26% - 100%. In general, the longer the fumigation period the worse the effect. The need for alternative post-harvest treatments for Florida avocados is discussed.

Many forest ecosystems in Kenya are at risk from the invasion of exotic plant species that pose numerous threats like decreasing biodiversity, deteriorating ecosystem processes and degrading their services. They also affect human, other animal health and various angles of the general economy. Cestrum aurantiacum Lindl. is a species with invasive reputation having been reported with very high biological success rating and has been noted in parts of Kenya in proportions that raise concerns. It has negative effects on other plants and animal species function and diversity. These impacts have been recorded in Kenya and elsewhere in this review, I synthesized data from studies that have examined the taxonomy of Cestrum aurantiacum, how this species become part of the ecosystem in Kenya and its ecological and economic impacts. I sourced relevant articles from the internet using keywords relating to the taxonomy, impacts and reports of invasive species and narrowed to records from different parts of Kenya. In this review, I looked across twenty-seven studies, on Cestrum aurantiacum in Kenya and went ahead to review one hundred and thirteen other articles for expanded discussion. Species data in published articles from different parts of Kenya were used as georefences to model overall species distribution which was noted to lie between Mt Kenya, Mt Elgon-Nandi hills and Cherangani hills. It was clearly established that there are major adverse effects associated with species. First, it can change native ecosystem processes such as nutrient cycle or hydrology and contribute significant role on the decrease of native species. A primary risk of Cestrum aurantiacum is that when this species alters the biodiversity, ecosystems are transformed into new configurations with unpredictable consequences to humans and other wildlife in totality. This paper reports results of the ecohealth project implemented in Yunnan Province, China. The results through literature review show that, as a notifiable disease, prevalence of Brucellosis has been significantly increased in both animal and human since the period from 2003 to 2005, and ranked the 1 st of importance in zoonosis since 2007;and as a non-notifiable disease, prevalence of Toxoplasmosis has been increased in both animal and human, at both national and provincial *** retrospective investigation, in hospital for human health, total case files of 22,689 outpatients and inpatients were investigated, of which 511 abortion cases of kinds and 9 cases of premature delivery were identified, and 2 cases were confirmed as serologically positive for Toxoplasmosis. Total case files of 56,883 outpatients and inpatients, of which 1,103 cases with fever, 341 with fever for further detection, and 236 with fever over 5 days;and 118 cases with joint pain, headache and lymph node enlargement were identified, however, all cases were confirmed to be serologically negative for Brucellosis. A serological survey for prevalence of Brucellosis and Toxoplasmosis in outpatient suspect case during the period from 1 st Jul to 31 st Dec(2011) was carried out in Yiliang county and Mangshi City. The results showed that prevalence was zero for Brucellosis and 9.68%(3/31) for Toxoplasmosis in Yiliang county, and prevalence was zero for Brucellosis and 16.67%(5/30) for Toxoplasmosis in Mangshi City. A field survey including Questionnaire, IDI and FGD was carried out in the two project sites. Total 192 respondents participated in the questionnaire survey;47 respondents involved in IDI;and 17 meetings for FGD were held. Findings and conclusions concerning knowledge, attitude and behavior for zoonosis and public health were achieved through this field survey. Generally, these two indicator diseases are not listed in the most common animal diseases or zoonosis;knowledge of these two

The agro-pasturage ecotone in northern China is not only an important green ecosystem barrier but also an important economic belt. However, the extensive operation manner and harsh natural surroundings lead to the grassland degradation, low agricultural productivity and people living in poverty. In our study, the result has shown that the aboveground biomass and economic benefits of improved grassland, artificial perennial grassland and silage farmland have been increased greatly. Therefore, the development and construction of high-yield silage farmland and artificial perennial grassland in agro-pasturage ecotone not only increase the economic benefits but also protect the ecological environment.

In September and October 2015, a new species of the family Nemacheilidae, Triplophysa tianxingensis sp. nov., was discovered from underground water in Qiubei county, Yunnan Province, China. It can be distinguished from all other troglobiotic Triplophysa species occurring in Yunnan by the following combination of characters： eyes small, a little degenerated; barbels longer; ventral profiles greatly convex; pectoral fin short, attaining a third of the distance from the pectoral-fin base to pelvic fin base; body with many brown blotches; caudal peduncle with fin fold; caudal fin shallowly forked, and free posterior chamber of swim bladder cylindrical.

[ Objective] To analyze the nutrient components of yak milk from different regions and provide a theoretical basis for further development and utilization of yak milk. [ Method] A total of 150 yak milk samples were collected from Tianzhu county, Maqu county and Tianjun county, and 90 yak milk samples were collected from three different yak farms in Tianzhu county. The content of milk protein, milk fat, fat solid, non-fat solid and lactose, as well as the density, freezing point and acidity were determined, respectively. [ Result] The milk protein content and milk fat content had significant differences between three regions. With the increasing altitude, the milk protein and milk fat were increased, but the content of fat solid, non-fat solid and lactose, density, freezing point and acidity had no obviously regular change. The milk protein content and milk fat content had no significant difference between three yak farms in Tianzhu county. [ Conclusion] The altitude may affect the milk protein content and milk fat content of yak milk.

[Objectives]The purpose was to solve the problem that high temperature and high humidity will seriously affect the health and weight gain of pigs.[Methods]The fan-water curtain cooling system was popularized in large-scale pig farms.[Results]The pigs using the water curtain cooling system gained 1.5 kg from weaning to the day of *** feed-to-gain ratio was 2.43∶1,a year-on-year decrease of *** average weight gain per pig was about 5-10 kg.[Conclusions]The application of fan-water curtain cooling system in pig production can accelerate the growth rate of pigs,reduce the occurrence of diseases and improve the utilization of feed,eventually improving the productivity of pigs.
