In this work, an H_∞/passive-based secure synchronization control problem is investigated for continuous-time semi-Markov neural networks subject to hybrid attacks, in which hybrid attacks are the combinations of denial-of-service attacks and deception attacks, and they are described by two groups of independent Bernoulli distributions. On this foundation, via the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality technology, the H∞/passive-based performance criteria for semi-Markov jump neural networks are obtained. Additionally, an activation function division approach for neural networks is adopted to further reduce the conservatism of the criteria. Finally, a simulation example is provided to verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.

Surface texturing is a smart strategy that is commonly used in nature or industry to improve the tribological properties of sliding surfaces.Herein,we focus on the recent research progress pertaining to the wet friction modification of soft elastomers via texturing.To consider the pertinent physical mechanisms,we present and discuss the fundamentals of wet sliding on soft surfaces(including dewetting and wetting transitions in compliant contacts).Subsequently,we consider the methods in which the characteristic textures regulate and control wet sliding behaviors on soft surfaces;these textures range from conventional patterns of dimples to bioinspired architectures and can either positively or adversely impact the interfacial friction force.Furthermore,we briefly address the perspectives,potential applications,and challenges of texture design for modifying the friction characteristics of soft materials.

This work focuses on the design of a sliding mode controller for a class of continuoustime interval type-2 fuzzy-model-based nonlinear systems with unmeasurable state information over a finite-time interval.Aiming at describing the nonlinearities containing parameter uncertainties that inevitably appear in practice,the interval type-2 fuzzy sets are employed to model the studied system.To improve the designing flexibility,a fuzzy observer model non-parallel distribution compensation scheme is designed to estimate the state information of the plant,i.e.,the observer is allowed to have a mismatching premise structure from the system.On this basis,the appropriate fuzzy sliding surface and fuzzy controller are constructed by following the same premise variables as the designed fuzzy observer.Then,by means of the sliding mode control theory and the Lyapunov function method,some novel sufficient criteria are established to ensure the finite-time boundedness for the studied systems via a partitioning strategy including the reaching phase,the sliding motion phase and the whole time interval.Furthermore,the designed gains are acquired by solving the matrix convex optimization problem.Finally,the effectiveness of the developed method is demonstrated by two simulation examples.

This paper investigates the static output feedback secure control problem for discrete-time hidden Markov jump systems against replay attacks. The main purpose is to realise that closed-loopsystems are stochastically stable with or without replay attacks. Firstly, the tampered sensorsunder replay attacks can be identified via the proposed detection method. Then, an asynchronousstatic output feedback controller is designed, which can eliminate the negative impactcaused by replay attacks in view of the detection results. Based on the linear matrix inequalitytechnique, some sufficient conditions which ensure the closed-loop systems are stochasticallystable and meet a given H∞ performance are established. Finally, a numerical example and apractical example are given to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

Salamanders have evolved functions of attaching to a variety of surfaces under wet conditions,but racial diversity may cause a difference in attachment behaviors and epidermal characteristics.The sticking and climbing abilities of the Chinese Fire Belly Newt(CFBN),Chinese Warts Triton(CWT),Spotless Stout Newt(SSN),and Chinese Giant Salamander(CGS)on various surfaces were investigated and compared in terms of epidermal morphology,body size,and wettability.The results indicate that the spotless stout newt has an excellent ability for wet attachment,compared to other salamanders under a certain contact case,resulting from its lower mass/body surface area and more visible epidermal structures.Supplementation with moderate water is beneficial for salamander attachment,and the surface roughness in the flood case also promotes the wet attachment.The CFBN has the most hydrophilic epidermis among the samples,where the water droplet quickly spreads over,presenting a completely wetting case.This study offers a comprehensive understanding of the wet attachments and the epidermal characteristics of salamanders,which is meaningful for the application of bioinspired adhesives.

This paper is dedicated to the study of adaptive input-to-state stable synchronization of uncertain time-delay Lur’e systems with exterior interference. With the help of the Lyapunov function approach, a sufficient condition for the input-to-state stability of the synchronization-error system is derived, which is theoretically less conservative than a previously reported criterion in the absence of parameter uncertainties. On the basis of the present condition, a co-design of the feedback gain and estimates of the uncertain parameters is given to determine the desired adaptive synchronization controller. Finally, an example with simulations is provided to demonstrate the applicability and superiority of the analysis and design strategies.

The spreading effect of atmospheric pressure microplasma jets(APμPJ)on the surface of materials will increase the etching area,and controlling the diameter of the jet can improve the precision of surface treatment.In this work,a two-dimensional axisymmetric simulation model is established to analyze the effect of nitrogen(N_(2))shielding gas on helium(He)from gas dynamics.In addition,by etching the polyethylene terephthalate fllm,the relationship between the etching effect and aerodynamic analysis is verifled.The simulation results are similar to the experimental results,indicating that N2 shielding gas has a focusing effect which is related to the N_(2)flow rate,distance difference between the inner and outer tubes,and outer tube nozzle diameter.It is hoped that the results of this work can provide a certain reference for the use of shielding gas to control the jet flow of APμPJ.

Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Passive Filtering for Nonlinear Singularly Perturbed PDT-Switched Systems and Its Application

The problem of designing a passive filter for nonlinear switched singularly perturbed systems with parameter uncertainties is explored in this paper.Firstly,the multiple-time-scale phenomenon is settled effectively by introducing a singular perturbation parameter in the plant.Secondly,the interval type-2 fuzzy set theory is employed where parameter uncertainties are expressed in membership functions rather than the system matrices.It is worth noting that interval type-2 fuzzy sets of the devised filter are different from the plant,which makes the design of the filter more flexible.Thirdly,the persistent dwell-time switching rule,as a kind of time-dependent switching rules,is used to manage the switchings among nonlinear singularly perturbed subsystems,and this rule is more general than dwell-time and average dwell-time switching rules.Next,sufficient conditions are provided for guaranteeing that the filtering error system is globally uniformly exponentially stable with a passive performance.Furthermore,on the basis of the linear matrix inequalities,the explicit expression of the designed filter can be obtained.Finally,a tunnel diode electronic circuit is rendered as an example to confirm the correctness and the validity of the developed filter.
