Unsupervised Learning for Non-intrusive Load Monitoring in Smart Grid Based on Spiking Deep Neural Network

This paper investigates the intelligent load monitoring problem with applications to practical energy management scenarios in smart *** one of the critical components for paving the way to smart grids’success,an intelligent and feasible non-intrusive load monitoring(NILM)algorithm is urgently ***,most recent researches on NILM have not dealt with practical problems when applied to power grid,i.e.,①limited communication for slow-change systems;②requirement of low-cost hardware at the users’side;and③inconvenience to adapt to new ***,a novel NILM algorithm based on biology-inspired spiking neural network(SNN)has been developed to overcome the existing *** provide intelligence in NILM,the developed SNN features an unsupervised learning rule,i.e.,spike-time dependent plasticity(STDP),which only requires the user to label one instance for each appliance while adapting to a new *** upgrade the feasibility in NILM,the designed spiking neurons mimic the mechanism of human brain neurons that can be constructed by a resistor-capacitor(RC)*** addition,a distributed computing system has been designed that divides the SNN into two parts,i.e.,smart outlets and local *** the information flows as sparse binary vectors among spiking neurons in the developed SNN-based NILM,the high-frequency data can be easily compressed as the spike times,and are sent to the local server with limited communication capability,whereas it is unable to handle the traditional ***,a series of experiments are conducted using a benchmark public ***,the effectiveness of developed SNN-based NILM can be demonstrated through comparisons with other emerging NILM algorithms such as the convolutional neural networks.

It is expected that multiple virtual power plants(multi-VPPs)will join and participate in the future local energy market(LEM).The trading behaviors of these VPPs needs to be carefully studied in order to maximize the benefits brought to the local energy market operator(LEMO)and each *** propose a bounded rationality-based trading model of multiVPPs in the local energy market by using a dynamic game approach with different trading *** types of power bidding models for VPPs are first set up with different trading *** the dynamic game process,VPPs can also improve the degree of rationality and then find the most suitable target for different requirements by evolutionary learning after considering the opponents’bidding strategies and its own clustered *** would decide the electricity buying/selling price in the ***,the proposed dynamic game model is solved by a hybrid method consisting of an improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)algorithm and conventional largescale ***,case studies are conducted to show the performance of the proposed model and solution approach,which may provide some insights for VPPs to participate in the LEM in real-world complex scenarios.

Plants of the Caprifoliaceae family are widely cultivated worldwide as ornamental plants owing to their numerous,sweet-smelling,beautiful flowers and *** miconioides Rehd.,a member of the family,is endemic to eastern China and is cultivated as a popular ornamental plant in North america and European *** has a rather novel and beautiful trait of high horticultural value,that is,its sepals persist and enlarge,turning purplish ***,we report the chromosome-level genome assembly of *** to understand its evolution and floral *** 622.28 Mb assembled genome harbored a shared whole-genome duplication with a related species,Lonicera *** genomic analysis suggested that chromosome fission events following genome duplication underlie the unusual chromosome number of these two species,as well as chromosome fission of another five chromosomes in ***,giving rise to a haploid chromosome number of 14(versus 9 in ***).In addition,based on transcriptome and chloroplast genome analysis of 17 representative species in the Caprifoliaceae,we assumed that large structural variations in the chromosomes of *** were not caused by *** in the candidate genes of the MADS-box family were detected in the *** genome,including AP1-,AP3-,and SEPexpanded,which might underlie the sepal elongation and development in this *** current findings provided a critical resource for genome evolution studies in Caprifoliaceae and it was an example of how multi-omics data can elucidate the regulation of important ornamental traits.

This paper presents an overview of the QUARKS survey,which stands for Querying Underlying mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved gas Kinematics and Structures."The QUARKS survey is observing139 massive clumps covered by 156 pointings at Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA)Band 6(λ~1.3 mm).In conjunction with data obtained from the ALMA-ATOMS survey at Band 3(λ~3 mm),QUARKS aims to carry out an unbiased statistical investigation of massive star formation process within protoclusters down to a scale of 1000 *** overview paper describes the observations and data reduction of the QUARKS survey,and gives a first look at an exemplar source,the mini-starburst Sgr B2(M).The wide-b and width(7.5 GHz)and high-angular-resolution(~0."3)observations of the QUARKS survey allow for the resolution of much more compact cores than those could be done by the ATOMS survey,and to detect previously unrevealed fainter filamentary *** spectral windows cover transitions of species including CO,SO,N_(2)D^(+),SiO,H_(30)α,H_(2)CO,CH_(3)CN,and many other complex organic molecules,tracing gas components with different temperatures and spatial *** aims to deepen our understanding of several scientific topics of massive star formation,such as the mass transport within protoclusters by(hub-)filamentary structures,the existence of massive starless cores,the physical and chemical properties of dense cores within protoclusters,and the feedback from already formed high-mass young protostars.

H9N2 virus has been widely distributed in wild birds and poultry around the world since its first emergence in the United States of america in 1966(Gu et al.2017;Carnaccini and Perez 2020).The virus appeared in chickens in China in the early 1990s,and over the last two decades has gradually become the dominant epidemic subtype(Sun and Liu 2015;Bi et al.2020).Although H9N2 virus infection alone cannot cause severe disease or death in poultry,H9N2 virus-infected birds experience a degree of egg production drop and can be easily infected by other pathogens,thus causing economic losses for poultry industry.

Seminal characteristics and sexual behavior in men of different age groups： is there an aging effect？

Aim： To assess the seminal characteristics as well as the sexual behavior of men of various age groups to establish the presence of an aging effect on those characteristics. Methods： Semen samples were collected from men （n = 792） undergoing in vitro fertilization or intrauterine insemination in cases of female factor infertility only. Samples were collected using a seminal collection device at intercourse and evaluated manually according to World Health Organization （WHO） standards. Men were divided into four groups according to their ages：（i） 20-30, （ii） 31-40, （iii） 41-50 and （iv） 51-60 years, and their seminal characteristics and responses to a sexual behavior questionnaire were compared. Results： The data showed statistically significant differences in the seminal characteristics tested, most notably in the sperm concentration, motility, grade of motility, hypo-osmotic swelling and normal sperm morphology. Furthermore, the decline in normal sperm morphology with age was more pronounced when using strict criteria rather than WHO standards. There were also differences in total sperm count, total motile sperm and total functional sperm fraction （assessed by both WHO and strict criteria）. Significant differences were also observed in the sexual behavior patterns in older men in terms of the number of years they have been trying to conceive, sexual frequency and sexual satisfaction. Conclusion： The data clearly illustrate an aging effect on semen characteristics and sexual behavior in men as they age. It is suggested that the aging effect be taken into consideration when proposing normal standard values for semen characteristics in routine semen analysis as outlined by WHO standards.

Leveraging the high resolution,sensitivity,and wide frequency coverage of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA),the QUARKS survey,standing for“Querying Underlying mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved gas Kinematics and Structures”,is observing 139 massive starforming clumps at ALMA Band 6(λ~1.3 mm).This paper introduces the Atacama Compact Array(ACA)7 m data of the QUARKS survey,describing the ACA observations and data *** multiwavelength data,we provide the first edition of QUARKS atlas,offering insights into the multiscale and multiphase interstellar medium in high-mass star *** ACA 1.3 mm catalog includes 207 continuum sources that are called ACA *** gas kinetic temperatures are estimated using three formaldehyde transitions with a non-LTE radiation transfer model,and the mass and density are derived from a dust emission *** ACA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),gravity-dominated(M∝R^(1.1))fragments within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and embedded star-forming *** find a linear correlation between the masses of the fragments and the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** considering fragments as representative of dense gas,the ratio indicates a dense gas fraction(DGF)of 6%,although with a wide scatter ranging from 1%to 10%.If we consider the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed at various scales,then the size-independent DGF indicates a self-similar fragmentation or collapsing mode in protocluster *** the ACA data over four orders of magnitude of luminosity-to-mass ratio(L/M),we find that the DGF increases significantly with L/M,which indicates clump evolutionary *** observed a limited fragmentation at the subclump scale,which can be explained by a dynamic global collapse process.

Visualization-based prediction of dendritic copper growth in electrochemical cells using convolutional long short-term memory

Electrodeposition in electrochemical cells is one of the leading causes of its performance deterioration. The prediction of electrodeposition growth demands a good understanding of the complex physics involved, which can lead to the fabrication of a probabilistic mathematical model. As an alternative, a convolutional Long shortterm memory architecture-based image analysis approach is presented herein. This technique can predict the electrodeposition growth of the electrolytes, without prior detailed knowledge of the system. The captured images of the electrodeposition from the experiments are used to train and test the model. A comparison between the expected output image and predicted image on a pixel level, percentage mean squared error, absolute percentage error, and pattern density of the electrodeposit are investigated to assess the model accuracy. The randomness of the electrodeposition growth is outlined by investigating the fractal dimension and the interfacial length of the electrodeposits. The trained model predictions show a significant promise between all the experimentally obtained relevant parameters with the predicted one. It is expected that this deep learning-based approach for predicting random electrodeposition growth will be of immense help for designing and optimizing the relevant experimental scheme in near future without performing multiple experiments.
