Comparison of Hair Fatty Alcohols by N-Alkylpyridinium Isotope Quaternization and Matrix-assisted Laser Desorptionl ionization Mass Spectrometry for Drug Abuse Monitoring

Based on our previous report on N-alkylpyridinium isotope quaternization （NAPIQ） for the analysis of alcoholic and α,β-unsaturated ketone compounds, we have further applied NAPIQ method in the screening of hair lipids in drug abusers. Relative isotopic quantification was used for comparison of fatty alcohols between normal and drug abuse group, The NAPIQ strategy was proven to be a high-throughput method in the metabolic comparison studies of different group samples. The attached N-cationic pyridinium significantly improved the detection sensitivity for these fatty alcohols in matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometric （MALDI-FTMS） analysis. The experimental results showed that the levels of fatty alcohols in the hair of heroin abuse group decreased significantly compared with the normal groups, which may be the results of the inducing of peroxidation enzyme. NAPIQ was proven to be an effective and alternative method in the research of fatty alcoholic metabolism for drug abuse monitoring.

A subsystem impactor test for pedestrian lower limb injury evaluation has been brought in China New Car Assessment Protocol(CNCAP).Concerning large anthropometric differences of the people from different countries,the present study aims to establish and validate a finite element lower limb model representing 50th Chinese male size for pedestrian safety research,then compare its biomechanical responses with the general models currently in wide use in the world for pedestrian safety *** the vehicle-pedestrian impact loading environment,the previously developed lower limb model with three-dimensional muscles was adjusted and validated through the related ***,the biomechanical responses of the validated model were compared with the Total Human Model for Safety(THUMS)and Advanced Pedestrian Legform Impactor(aPLI)models by combing with four typical *** results showed that both consistency and significant differences of biomechanical responses existed between the present model and the other two *** injury measurements of the thigh region of the present model showed extremely large differences with the other two models,while the tibia and Medial Collateral Ligament(MCL)injury measurements show similar ***,it can be concluded that directly using the aPLI or THUMS models for Chinese pedestrian safety evaluation is not robust concerning both kinematic responses and injury measurements.

Hallucinogenic mushroom is a kind of toxic strain containing psychoactive tryptamine substances such as psilocybin,psilocin and ibotenic acid,*** mushrooms containing hallucinogenic components are various,widely distributed and lack of standard to define,which made a great challenge to *** identification methods,such as morphology and toxicology analysis,showed shortcomings in old or processed samples,while the DNA-based identification of hallucinogenic mushrooms would allow to identify these samples due to the stability of *** this paper,four primer sets are designed to target Psilocybe cubensis DNA for increasing resolution of present identification method,and the target markers include largest subunit of RNA polymerase II(marked as PC-R1),psilocybin-related phosphotransferase gene(marked as PC-PT),glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase(marked as PC-3)and translation EF1α(marked as PC-EF).Real-time PCR with high-resolution melting(HRM)assay were used for the differentiation of the fragments amplified by these primer sets,which were tested for specificity,reproducibility,sensitivity,mixture analysis and multiplex *** was shown that the melting temperatures of PC-R1,PC-PT,PC-3 and PC-EF of *** were(87.93±0.12)℃,(82.21±0.14)℃,(79.72±0.12)℃ and(80.11±0.19)℃ in our kinds of independent *** HRM characteristic can be shown with a low concentration of 62.5pg/µL DNA sample,and *** could be detected in mixtures with Homo sapiens or Cannabis *** summary,the method of HRM analysis can quickly and specifically distinguish *** from other species,which could be utilized for forensic science,medical diagnosis and drug trafficking cases.

A Retrospective Analytical Study of forensic Evidence in Rape and Murder Cases and its Implications on Judicial Outcomes in India

In rape and murder cases,forensic science precisely establishes the link between the accused and either the victim or the crime scene,or both,which aids police investigation and the trial process by providing scientific evidence to corroborate or contradict the accused’s *** study focuses on the importance of forensic evidence in deciding rape cases in *** study aimed to analyze the correlation between forensic evidence and judicial outcomes in determining the conviction *** is a retrospective analytical study of rape and murder cases of the Supreme Court of India(SCI)Judgments from 1992 to 2021 using the library and digital library *** data obtained were subjected to Pearson’s correlation test to assess the relationship between forensic evidence and judicial *** results were considered statistically significant at Pforensic samples,while 7(35%)cases had improper handling of the forensic samples or inconsistent forensic reports were *** on the forensic reports and other factors,the SCI affirmed the sentence in 11(55%)cases,commuted imprisonment in 7(35%)cases,and acquitted 2(15%)***,the statistical analysis shows that forensic evidence and judicial outcomes have a moderately positive correlation with each other(0.2forensic reports and acquitted based on mishandled forensic reports.

Photoluminescence Properties and Energy Transfer from Ce^(3+) to Tb^(3+) in Zn_2SiO-_4 Host

Zn2Si O4︰Tb^3＋, Zn2 Si O4︰Ce^3＋, Zn2 Si O4︰Tb^3＋, Ce^3＋ phosphors were prepared by solidstate reaction at 1 150 ℃ for 2h under a weak reducing atmosphere. Moreover, the XRD patterns and photoluminescence spectra were recorded and the effects of Tb3＋ and Ce3＋ concentration on the luminescent properties of as-synthesized phosphors were investigated. The emission spectra under ultraviolet light（333 nm） radiation showed a dominant peak at 542 nm attributed to the 5D4→7F5 transition of Tb^3＋, which was enhanced significantly（about 45 times） by the co-doping of Ce^3＋, indicating that there occurred an efficient energy transfer from Ce^3＋ to Tb^3＋. According to the Dexter＇s energy transfer formula of multipolar interaction, it was demonstrated that the energy transfer between Ce3＋ and Tb3＋ was due to the electric dipolar-dipolar interaction of the resonance transfer.

Objective To further improve the accuracy of bone age identification using the time of secondary ossification center appearance and epiphyseal fusion of 7 joints to estimate the age of living *** DR films were taken from 7 parts including sternal end of clavical and the left side of shoulder,elbow,carpal,hip,knee and ankle joints of 1 709 individuals who came from eastern China,central China and southern China,whose ages were between 11.0 and 20.0 *** those 7 joints 24 osteal loci were selected as bone age indexes,which could better reflect age growth of *** characteristics of secondary ossification center appearance and epiphyseal fusion were observed,and the mean and age range of secondary ossification center appearance and epiphyseal fusion were *** The fusion time of the 24 epiphyses were advanced at different degrees,the most obvious epiphyses the sternal end of clavicle,scapular acromial end,distal end of the radius,distal end of the ulna,iliac crest,ischial tuberosity,the upper and lower end of tibia and *** appearance time of sternal end of clavicle,scapular acromial end,iliac crest and ischial tuberosity epiphyses were all found to be after the age of 12,and the female's age,approximately 1 year ahead of schedule in comparison with the male'*** The relevant forensic information and data for bone age identification should be updated every 10-15 years so as to provide accurate and objective evidence for court testimony,conviction and sentencing.

Objectives:The author collected several samples with Chinese characters and utilized the 3D property of stroke indentation to explore how pen strokes left on the paper can assist with forensic ***:We chose to collect the three-dimension property of handwriting strokes and analyze strokes *** this study,the author extracted stroke indentation through focus variation microscopy as implemented by *** and Conclusion:Upon experimenting with different types of pens and different writing surface,the author found that this result can tell with a great degree of certainty whether the sample is formed with a left-hand or right-hand writer and how the pen was being *** there are variations among the test results,the discovered pattern generally holds for different types of pens and writing surfaces,except that the result from using felt tip pens or extremely hard surfaces are less *** findings are expected to be able to assist in narrowing down who wrote a certain handwriting sample.
