Herein,we trained machine learning(ML)model to quickly and accurately conduct the strength prediction of refractory high entropy alloys(RHEAs)*** Boosting(GB)regression model shows an outstanding performance against other ML *** addition,the heat of fusion and atomic size difference is shown to be paramount to the strength of the high entropy alloys(HEAs)*** addition,we discussed the contribution of each feature to the solid solution strengthening(SSS)of HE *** excellent predictive accuracy shows that the GB model can be efficient and reliable for the design of RHEAs with desired strength.

Recent studies have shown that many challenges encountered in conventional single crystal growth methods, including high production costs, can be overcome by using the solid-state single-crystal growth(SSCG) approach, which has been recognized as a simple and cost-effective alternative for obtaining single crystals. In this work, YAlO(YAG) and Nd-doped YAG(Nd:YAG) single crystals were grown via the SSCG method using spark plasma sintering(SPS). The growth of single crystals was initiated at the surface of(110) YAG single-crystal seeds embedded inside YAG and Nd:YAG powder beds, and this growth continued as the surrounding polycrystalline matrix was converted into a single crystal. The application of external pressure during the SPS process has been found beneficial for reducing the porosity of the grown single crystals. Moreover, high Nddoping levels had a positive effect on the conversion kinetics,with a growth rate of almost 50 μm/h, which increased the driving force for single-crystal growth through the solute drag effect. EDS elemental mapping and line scans confirmed the compositional uniformity of the grown single crystals, while EBSD images verified their crystallization in the(110) direction. The obtained results confirm the strong potential of the SSCG technique coupled with SPS for the growth of undoped and highly doped YAG single crystals with excellent quality.

In this study we fabricated, for the first time, magnesium gallate (MgGa_(2)O_(4), a partially inverted spinel) transparent ceramics, both undoped and doped with 1 at% Ni. The specimens were derived from in-house prepared powder, with a crystallite size of ∼10 nm (by wet chemistry) and densified by pulsed electric current sintering (PECS;peak temperature 950 ℃ for 90 min). Densification levels of 99.84% and 99.52% of theoretical density were attained for doped and undoped materials, respectively. Doping with Ni was seen to marginally improve the densification level. Quite transparent specimens were produced: the best showing transmission of ∼89% of the theoretical level (thickness t = 0.85 mm). The absorption spectra revealed that the dopant was accumulated as Ni^(2+) in the octahedral sites of the lattice, as occurs in single-crystal specimens. After excitation at 980 nm, the doped disks exhibited a wide fluorescence band centered at 1264 nm.

Magnesia（MgO） is widely used in the production of refractory materials due to its high melting point,high thermal shock,and excellent slag *** properties of refractory materials depend upon magnesia sources and processing *** this work,three different magnesium sources,namely,magnesium hydroxide concentrate,magnesium carbonate concentrate,and intermediate flotation concentrate,were obtained from the Zinelbulak talc-magnesite,Uzbekistan,by causticization-hydration and flotation processes,respectively.A series of refractory materials were prepared on the basis of these magnesium sources,and their effects on physico-mechanical properties and microstructures were investigated as a function of sintering temperature,molding pressure,and the particle size of magnesium *** experimental results showed that a refractory material obtained from the magnesium hydroxide concentrate at 1600℃ for 4 h demonstrated favorable parameters due mainly to a higher degree of contact among fine *** results obtained from X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy confirmed the presence of periclase and forsterite as the predominant phases in refractory *** prepared refractory materials meet the requirements of the State Standards（Nos.4689-94 and 14832-96） for magnesia and forsterite refractories,*** is,therefore,suggested herein that the use of different magnesium sources derived from the Zinelbulak talc-magnesite will offer the potential to provide economic benefits in the refractory industry.

AIM To determine the prevalence,characteristics and clinical course of pancreatic cystic neoplasms(PCNs) in liver transplantation(LT) *** We retrospectively studied consecutive patients who underwent LT between January 1998 to April 2016. Clinical and laboratory data were obtained from patient medical records. Imaging findings on computed tomography and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography were reviewed by two *** During the study period,872 patients underwent cadaveric LT. Pancreatic cysts were identified in 53/872(6.1%) and 31/53(58.5%) were PCNs [28 intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN),2 mucinous cystic neoplasm(MCN),1 serous cystadenoma]. Patients with PCNs exhibited less male predominance(55% vs 73%,P = 0.03) compared to patients without pancreatic cysts. Thirteen patients(42%) were diagnosed with PCN pre-LT while 18 patients(58%) developed PCN post-LT. The median size of PCNs was 13 mm [interquartile range(IQR) 10-20 mm]. All IPMNs were side-branch type. Most PCNs were found in the head and body of pancreas(37% each),followed by the tail(25%). Five patients underwent further evaluation with endoscopic ultrasound. Progress imaging was performed on 81% of patients. PCNs remained stable in size and number in all but 2 patients. During a median follow up of 39 mo(IQR 26-58 mo),the 2(6%) patients with MCN underwent pancreatectomy. No PCN patient developed pancreatic adenocarcinoma,while 5 died from illnesses unrelated to the PCN. Among patients without PCN,1/841(0.1%) developed pancreatic *** The prevalence of PCNs in LT recipients was similar to the general population(3.6%,31/872). Side-branch IPMNs do not appear to have accelerated malignant potential in post-LT patients,indicating the current surveillance guidelines are applicable to this group.

Carbon dissolution from four types of metallurgical cokes and graphite was investigated by using immersion rods in a resistance furnace to clarify the influence of factors governing the rate of carbon dissolution from carbonaceous materials into Fe-Mn melts at 1550℃.The factors studied were the nmicrostructure of carbonaceous materials,roughness,porosity and the wettability between carbonaceous materials and the ***/metal in terface was characterised by sea nning electron microscopy accompanied with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry to investigate the form at io n of an ash *** results showed that coke E had the highest dissolution *** roughness and porosity of the carbonaceous materials seemed to be dominant factors affecting the dissolution ***,crystallite size did not have a significant effect on the dissolution ***/liquid wettability seemed to affect the initial stage of dissolution *** dissolution mechanism was found to be both mass transfer and interfacial reactions.

Primary productivity has played an important role in the global carbon cycle during the Quaternary. The average Corg/N ratio was 7.0 from the core MD97-2140 in the West Pacific Warm Pool （WPWP） over the last 1 755 ka, which indicates a main contribution of marine organic carbon to the organic matter in the sediments. Large fluctuations in mass accumulation rates （MARs） of biogenics and lithogenics from this core since the marine isotope stage （MIS） 6 reflected the moderate variability in oceanographic condition, while tittle fluctuations in MAR-biogenics and -lithogenics from the MIS 59 to MIS 7 implied the relatively stable and uniform oceanographic condition, although the sea surface temperatures （SSTs） probably fluctuated by ca. 5 ℃. MAR-organic since the MIS 6 increased evidently during the glacial periods, which ascribed to terrestrial inputs, including lithogenic matter and dissolved nutrient, which also contribute to stimulating primary productivity. The results compared among the four cores in the WPWP since the MIS 9 indicate that in the western sector with the shallow thermocline, high primary productivity during the glacial periods was controlled by wind-induced surface water mixing, upwelling, and terrestrial inputs, while in the central and eastern sectors, the little different medium to low productivity might have been made by more intense upweil- ing driven by strong winds because the thicker warm surface water pool and the deeper thermocline prevented nutrient-bearing water from upwelling to upper water column even during the glacial times.
